Reservation for four people. Seated at a tiny table while other open tables that were much larger. They sat three people at one large table and two people at the other large table while the four of us were at the tiny table. Bad move. Well intentioned waiter. Water was warm. We ordered a plate of rosemary fries to share, but they did not come with the meal. Realizing his mistake the waiter apologized and delivered the fries when we were done with our meal. They should have said not only that they were sorry but they were on the house. But they did not. My burger was really tasty, but the presentation was lackluster. Just a burger and chips on a plate, the chips were stale. My wife's tofu dish was good as were the pasta and the salmon.

We stumbled on the Owl House after I ran the Wineglass Half-Marathon in Corning - it is a great little restaurant and quite a find. We were upstairs by a window overlooking their new trellis in the backyard with the sun streaming into the room. Lovely! The veggie burger - a mix of white bean and garbanzos - was absolutely outstanding and the best I have ever had - nicely spiced with chiles and served w homemade vegan mayo and pickles. WOW! The fries are amazing too! My hubby really enjoyed his egg burrito. And then there was the delicious bottle of DMZ rose from South Africa - priced very reasonably at roughly 2x markup. Now THAT is the kind of mark up that makes sense - not the 3x markup we are seeing in New York!

My entire family is vegan, my son is a freshman at RIT, and this was my first visit so I was unaware of the area restaurants. I found The Owl through Google, and was ecstatic as soon as I saw the menu. The next surprise came when I saw the very reasonable prices. But the greatest part was actually dining there. We had the vegan version of the brunch nachos and burrito and they were both fantastic - highly recommended. I was amazed at how unique the flavors were; the chef certainly has his own creative take on both of these items. We were stuffed. FYI: We arrived a few minutes early, before the restaurant had opened, so I perused the beautiful natural foods coop a block away. Nice to combine both in one visit. The Owl is not to be missed.

Have LOVED the Owl House since it opened. Went there Sat nite after an absence and VERY disappointed. Menu MUCH smaller than previously. Missing chicken cigarillos but told they weren't making them at this point BC they couldnt fry them in the same oil w gluten free foods. So the few gluten free diners affect them majority? Pasta cold. Description said fall veggies in it. Had only 4 slices of zucchini and the pasta was cold. Tomato black bean soup was terrible...should have been a sauce for tacos! Nachos had a lump of cheese under beans and beans were actually ice cold! We will miss our old favorite!! Hopefully things will change...used to be outstanding

Three of us dined at the Owl House on Thursday, October 2nd. The occasion was to celebrate my 66th birthday a few days early. Having a vegetarian friend with us, we wanted to ensure he had a good selection of options for dinner, which can be rare for a restaurant. We were not disappointed! All of the food was served promptly and courteously, and was extremely flavorful! My friend had the Summer Pasta with the Seared King Oyster Mushrooms, and he could not stop raving about it! I had the Pub Steak, and it was cooked to perfection!! My spouse had the Kitchen Sink Smoked Tofu sandwich, and he LOVED it, even though he is not a vegetarian!! This may have been our first visit, but it certainly will not be our last!!

As a semi-new vegetarian, I'm always looking for delicious, vegetarian restaurants in the local area, and my friend (also a vegetarian) was shocked that I had not been to the Owl House before. As soon as I saw the beautiful hardwood floors, romantically lit tables, and mouthwatering entrees, I knew we were in for a special treat. We ordered the Buffalo Cauli Wings for starters, which we literally devoured, and our entrees didn't stand much of a chance either. Our tofu was cooked to perfection and had some of the most unique mixture of palate pleasing sauces I've ever tried. Whether you're a vegetarian or carnivore, if you haven't experienced the Owl House than you're missing out on this local Rochester gem.

The food was out of this world! I had the B.V.E Burger and it was cooked perfect, and was way tastier than I expected. I think I'm in love. I had the house fries with it, and could not eat them all. And that's saying something, because I love fries! I would give them a 5 out of 5 on food. And a 4 out of 5 on ambiance. From where we sat we had a view of multiple cans of paint, a chair and other random items stacked above the bathrooms. I can understand the need for storage, but I don't want to see these things. Still worth a visit though!

In brief: one of our best meals in a long time. I have celiac and my wife doesn't, so we experienced both perspectives. We ate in the backyard patio. Quite, nice, just right. I wish the tables were more comfortable-metal iron bases w/ no good place to put your legs. I forgot about the discomfort when the food arrived. I had a soup special: chipotle black bean tomato (just the right spice and flavor), beet salad (fantastic). Wife had a burger: flavorful, well cooked. I had angus steak: delicious, tender, cooked to a perfect medium rare. Overall: 5 stars on my first outing, looking forward to returning. I read elsewhere that it can be inconsistent. I'd also like to experience inside, where the decor isn't my style (dark blood red). We'll see!

My fiancé and I have been to Owl House multiple times and we went last minute for a dinner date last week. We both ordered a blueberry cider which we had never tried before and it was delicious. We also split a cup of their chipotle black bean and tomato soup and fries to start. Their soups are always awesome, we haven't had a bad one yet! For our entrees we both got the "kitchen sink" with tofu, which was a very large and delicious sandwich (we both took half home). Our server was great as well, very inviting and willing to chat with us but not invasive on our night out! I LOVE this restaurant and would recommend it to anyone.

3 of our party ordered steak. Two medium and one medium rare. When it came, they were all rare. Two were sent back, and came back a little warmer, but still not cooked. The scallops were very good, the king mushrooms were tough. buffalo cauliflower was interesting and salad was fine. Service was very good and checked on wines for me due to allergies. Sitting on the deck was very nice.

My husband, sister-in-law, and I enjoyed dinner here on Sat night. We made a 6pm reservation, but it wasn't necessary as the dining room was wide open when we arrived at 5:45. We did the whole nine yards, from cocktails (which were excellent), to appetizer (get the Buffalo cauliflower - it is amazing!), entrees, dessert and coffee (good, strong local brew). Fresh ingredients were used creatively with an artful but not fussy presentation. They also make a lot of effort to cater to all sorts of dietary preferences and restrictions. What really made the meal though was the pleasant, timely, unobtrusive but friendly service of our waitress. She kept everything moving smoothly, but allowed us enough space so we didn't feel rushed. Very pleased.

Love this place! If you are a vegan, vegetarian or low carb person (and even if you are none of the above) you are going to love this place. Lots of healthy fresh options. I've had the tofu nuggets, siracha cauliflower "wings," the watermelon salad and the pub steak. All were delicious as was the local wine selections. The only downside is street parking and this place is a little small so I would highly recommend making reservations. Haven't tried the brunch yet but will soon!

This was my first time at Owl House, and it did not disappoint! I am a meat eater, and there were plenty of options; in fact almost all of the menu items can be made with meat, vegetarian, vegan or gluten free. My daughter is a vegetarian, so we decided to have all vegetarian selections so we could share. We ordered the nachos with feta, scallions, eggplant puree, housemade kimchee and edamame for a starter. We each had a cocktail and both were delicious (Moscow Mule and Elderflower Gimlet). Our entrees included the summer pasta and a chickpea burger, both of which we devoured. We also had a reasonably priced ($25) nice bottle of cabernet with the meal. I highly recommend this establishment!

The Owl House experience was so satisfying from beginning to end. I can't say enough about the staff whose gracious manners and knowledge of the food just added to the lovely ambience of the night. The food was absolutely delicious, with both my friend and I starting out with the Olive Bowl which was raw vegetables (cabbage, pearl onions, carrots, califlower, etc. in a pickle type of brine that was so delicious that both of us would have gladly eaten bowl after bowl of it! We then both had the chickpee burgers with the side of field greens, hers the Classic, mine the B.V.E. with strawberry jam and sirracha sauce. The patties were moist and flavorful and we fell in love with our very first bites! We would eat there again in a heartbeat!

I love dining at the Owl House and also dining with my 2.5 yr old son. He is well-behaved and is a great eater so I love taking him to fun places. We arrived at around 6:30 p.m. and the restaurant was not crowded at all which was great. The food was great and no kids' menu is ever needed for my lil guy so I was happy to share some tasty selections from my entree selection with him. Unfortunately where I was not pleased was with my waiter. I felt like he was judging me because I had a kid out on a Friday night and when I told him I was sharing food with my son, I feel like he immediately wrote me off as a cheap bill so I got sub-par service. Had he treated me like a regular patron I would have ordered more food and wine. bummer.

This was our first time dining at The Owl House and we will be coming back! Make reservations because even on a Tuesday night the restaurant filled fast - a testament to its local popularity. Vegetarians will enjoy this menu, but don't be afraid to bring along a few carnivores as most large plates have a meat option available. We began with a delectable vegetable chowdah with just the right amount of red pepper flake heat to make it interesting. We opted for their take on chickpea burgers - one classic, one B.V.E (with sriracha -strawberry jam) - both excellent. Housemade chips just right. Finished with a tasty vanilla-blueberry cake and coffee - yum! Full range of craft-beer styles & ABV %s. Wait staff superb!
