Diner Reviews
  • "The food was very good, however the service was slow. I was not really happy with our seating arrangement and would have preferred seating in a more comfortable area of the restaurant with more ambiance. The party behind us were rather loud and obnoxious. The restaurant was out of two of the menu items that we requested which was disappointing. Based on my first experience I would recommend the restaurant for the food only."

  • "We drove an hr with another couple to be seated on the porch next to the rd after being shown to 2other spots -so much for open table preferred seating. Our food was mediocre /medallion special was mystery meat?Prime rib was total gristle and fat-should never have been served-.Crab cakes were overdone-tasteless and cold.Flourless choc cake was a brick-will not be back "

  • "My husband proposed to me at The Oregon Grille on 04/27/08, and we come back yearly to celebrate. We have always been treated very well at this establishment, and everyone has always went out of their way to make us feel welcome. Too many people are quick to write in and complain about an establishment, but not enough express their gratitute for excellent service. Our waitress was "Jenny," and I will be absolutely heartbroken if she were to leave the restaurant. She was very attentive, personable, and even offered her own recommendations on what to order to my husband. I'd also like to give a special "thank you" to the assistant waiter. We're already making our reservations for next month! Thank you!"

  • "Enjoyed every minute. The food was excellent especially the crispy duck as appetizer. The host was courteous, helpful and knowledgeable. Will definitely come back."

  • "The last two visits to The Oregon Grille were not up to what I have come to expect form one of the Baltimore area's great restaurants. At a recent dinner with my wife, my dinner was simply not good. At the lunch I just had with one of my clients the food was OK but worth nowhere near the very high price I paid for it. The wonderful rolls that get brought out at the meal were hard on the bottom and the clam chowder was watery. The service was outstanding as always. Maybe its time for management to step back and renew what made them famous-really great food worth the price."

  • "The restaurant is a little dated. The food was average. Had to send back a carpaccio appetizer. The items were quite thick and not thinly sliced making them inedible."

  • "Great for the occasion. My husband and I had dinner with another couple we hadn't seen in a while and were seated in one of the smaller rooms. We were the first in the room but even as the 4-5 other tables filled, we never lost focus on our conversation. Food was great, had the lamp chops and blue point oysters. Others had rock fish and scallops; everyone enjoyed. Would like to stop back when outdoor seating becomes available in the warmer months. thanks!"

  • "We took my parents to Oregon Grille to celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary and are very glad we did. I had been there a few times for lunch and didn't remember it being notable. The meal was nice - some parts were outstanding the others were ok. Probably that was the one thing that could be improved - for the cost, I'd expect that all but maybe one thing would be outstanding. The ambience was perfect for our dinner - we felt special and relaxed. Our server might have been the best we ever had."

  • "We love to use The Oregon Grille for our family's special occasions. The pork special was a little undercooked. Service a little slow. Bonus -- the waitress did give Dad a little dessert treat for his birthday, even through we had forewarned her we had dessert waiting for us at home."

  • "I received a gift card to The Oregon Grille for Christmas. What a great gift! My boyfriend and I had dinner there on Saturday and we could not have been more impressed. Our table was quiet and comfortable; our server was present but not too present; and the food was fantastic. The required jacket for men only reinforces that this is a special place. We were also late for our reservation. I called to inform them that we would be late, and they could not have been more gracious on the phone as well as when we arrived. I highly recommend The Oregon Grille."

  • "Food was average at best. We spent $300 on dinner for two and were completely underwhelmed by the food. We will NOT be back. Only good part of our experience was our server."

  • "They do have lunch menus and bar fare but our dinner was about $200. The food was perfect. I had surf and turf and the steak melted in my mouth. Just as good as if not better than Ruth' s Chris. Atmosphere was nice as well not to dark or to bright. Not to loud. The dress code was a little liberal. There were men in very expensive suits, a coat is required after 5pm. There were also mem in jeans and a paid button up shirt with a sport coat. The only negative experience was our easier. Everything started great. He was attentive but not intrusive. Our drinks and appetizers came quickly. We wanted another wine but could not find our waiter. Our plates stayed on the table dirty a long time."

  • "After reading many reviews I was skeptical but I must say that I was really impressed with the decor and the service. The food was outstanding. We visited during restaurant week and even with the great deal the normal prices for the additional items we order were slight above the norm. We were seated in the upstairs dining room which was had a full crowd but we never feel cramped and the service was timely. I would definitely recommend this restaurant for those looking for a romantic evening or those just wishing to have a great night out with friends."

  • "Well, at least it is one of my favorite restaurants. The food is always great. The service is very very good. I have never been disappoionted. The lobster bisque soup, warm lobster salad and lamb chops are all tops."

  • "My husband and I went to the Oregon Grill during restaurant week. The menu for restaurant week included an appetizer, entree and desert available from a limited menu. He chose the filet and I chose the crab cake. The filet was much better than one we had ordered at a well known steakhouse. I believe the entrees on the regular menu are slightly larger than those on the restaurant week menu, but we had more food than we could eat. Restaurant week is a great opportunity to try restaurants that we don't visit often."

  • "The ambiance is great. The service is great. But as far as fine dining goes, the food is just ok. I had the Filet Mignon, and honestly I've had better tasting steak from the local grocery store and cooked on my own grill. Nothing special. My wife had salmon, which was very tasty. It came with shrimp risotto, which was way too creamy. It was over powering, and intolerable after a few bits. The menu prices make this restaurant exclusive, so if that is your thing, you'll enjoy this place. However, the quality of the food does not justify the money you will spend."

  • "My friend and I made reservations for restaurant week and it was well worth it! The steak was amazing and everything about our meal was fantastic. I would go again and again and again."

  • "Oregon Grille is a great special occasion restaurant. Wonderful food, service, and atmosphere. We go there for any special occasion - anniversary, Valentine's Day, birthdays. Love the piano player, bass player. Staff are all cheerful, attentive, and charming. The mixed drinks are always done right."

  • "I had recently dined at Oregon Grille and told another friend about the experience. We decided to return to the restaurant however, the second experience was not as good as the first. The service was extremely slow. I will wait a bit before returning but I probably will return at some point because of the first experience at the Oregon Grille."

  • "This is the second time I've been to The Oregon Grille - first time was for dinner (years ago). Was disappointed then too as they had crammed six adults into a booth. This time I went for lunch with my mother and daughter, had made reservations, but were still stuck back into an alcove when there was plenty of tables in the main dining room. Perhaps our waitress was new; however, completely unaware of the bar menu. AND, why would the cash register not have enough coin for change when time to pay the bill. The server indicated they didn't have enough dimes (why would you jip the customer, albeit $.10, instead of putting the restaurant out $.15) - doubt if I will ever return to even give them a third chance."

  • "My husband and I went here last night and were so pleased with our experience. We were visiting for Restaurant Week, which gave us the option to use a fixed-price menu of three courses. I had the Grille Salad and my husband had the ahi tuna stack. Both were delicious and different from what we normally find at restaurants. My husband got the 6-oz filet and I got the jumbo lump crab cake. My husband's steak was exactly how he'd ordered it, and he said it was probably the best steak he'd ever had. I felt the same about the crab cake. It had a lot of meat, and not much filler. Our desserts were great too. Our server was very nice and helpful when we were selecting a wine. All in all, a great place and we'd love to go back."

  • "The only thing keeping the Oregon Grille from rating five stars overall was the first impression on this visit. The maitre d was indifferent nearly to the point of being rude. The special request put in with the Open Table reservation asked for a quiet table (one of the group has impaired hearing) but we were shown to a table close to the piano player. Upon asking for a quieter area, we were seated at a table only marginally quieter. This was on a night when the restaurant was only half full."

  • "My family has been to the Oregon Grille many times, but not lately. We went this week to celebrate my mother's 85th birthday. The appetizers were good, and the service as well. The bread served wit dinner was truly delicious. However, we were disappointed in our main courses. The lobster roll was served on a hard, dry roll. The frittata was slightly dry, crispy, and not what we expected. The Brussell sprouts were amazing. Desserts were fair, with the exception of an outstanding hot fudge sundae. The atmosphere is lovely. For the lunch price ($155) plus tip) for three people, I expected the food to be exceptional, as I remembered it to be. It is unlikely that we will return again to this restaurant."

  • "This was a nice place to dine however I can't say that I was especially wowed by my meal. The service was great however spending $90.00 just for breakfast for two people, I want to be able to say my food was amazing or at least fantastic. Next time I would try dinner."

  • "On a cold February night, it was a treat to have heated seats in a booth on the front porch. The service was very good, and the piano added to the ambiance. The salad, steak, and crab cake were excellent. The only room for improvement is in the lackluster, bland desserts. Apple crisp should have some flavor. We will go back, but we will skip dessert."

  • "Wanting to propose to my future wife somewhere elegant, I chose Oregon Grille. I had never been before, but knew it by reputation. So on Valentine;s Day 2000 we went to dinner and during dessert I proposed. To my delight she said "Yes." And every year since we return on Valentine's Day to reaffirm with a great dinner and have never been disappointed with the meal or each other."

  • "The Food was excellent and we were not rushed, even on a very busy Valentines Day, food was dilivered in a very timely manner and staged just right. We were given the utmost of attention, could have had alittle better table, we were in a corner, but otherwise it was an excellent experience, and we will definitly go there again evan though it is 55 minutes from home."
    Dined on 2/14/2014
  • "We booked this reservation to celebrate out Valentine's Day. It's about a 45 minute drive from our house, and we had not been here in a few years. Even though this was the beginning of Baltimore County, our server did little to tell us of price points, and we selected off the regular menu. Wine list was extensive, but way overpriced. Food was okay, but not near where it needs to be for a Jacket-Required establishment. Server was competent, but not as involved as some of the servers around us."

  • "This is a gem. Very creative menu with attentive staff. Since we dined during the late afternoon in very cold weather, I couldn't comment on outdoor dining, but I'm sure it would be also outstanding."

  • "Great Valentine's Day meal at Oregon Grille. Food was outstanding. The area where we were seated was a bit claustrophobia inducing but otherwise the night was perfect. Great wine list - we had a beautiful Champagne to accompany our seafood selections. Will be back soon."
