It is intimate and comfortable. The service is the best around, they time things perfectly and are ready to help. Our wine glasses were topped up at the appropriate time. The food is outstanding, some of the best duck I have ever eaten. Not a big menus, but adequate in choice and everything is delicious. In our past visits, given the high prices here, there has always been a glitch or two that has kept us from a memorable dining experience, . Happily, not this time. The smooth and luscious foie gras and a nice beet salad started us off and were followed by a lovely loin of veal and halibut entrees. Our dessert was a five chocolate tasting, a bit of a mystery because two of the items did not have discernible chocolate, but tasty nevertheless. It's a beautiful restaurant and I loved the fact that the chef came out frequently to check on his guests. The hostess was absolutely wonderful and gracious! I was warned that service would be slow, and it was painfully so! There is a balance between discreet, non-pushing out service, and "reading the table". Our reservation was at 6:45 and we left at 9:30 after practically begging multiple servers for our bill. The food was absolutely delicious and I would absolutely go there again. The personal touches were amazing and very much appreciated. It made my Mom feel so special. My feedback is to speed the service up in between "turtle" and "hare". There has to be a better middle ground.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMAnniversary at the OrchardI celebrated my 9th anniversary at the Orchard, and could not have been more pleased. Although I have lived in Ksq for many years, this was my first visit to the Orchard, and it exceeded my expectations in every way. From my early stop by to drop off our beverages for the evening (BYOB) to the service at dinner to the quality of the food, it was exceptional. When we arrived for dinner, our beverages were in an ice tub chilling and our red wine was next to the table. Finally, my wife's dessert plate had "Happy Anniversary" written in chocolate. However, make sure you allow 2.5-3 hours if you are going to do appetizer/food/dessert. His menu is very creative, yet works within the structure of his classic French training. The room is reminiscent of the restaurants I've eaten at in Europe and the service is very attentive.
