We "found" The Orchard two years ago and it has become our favorite restaurant for special occasions and quiet dinners alone or with good friends. Service is impeccable, menu small but varied, food quality among the best.

Another variable meal at The Orchard, Kennett's sometimes great, sometimes not so great, French restaurant. The beet salad was nicely presented, but was small. The parsnip soup was excellent. Veal entree portion was small; duck breast moulard was tasty, but had a lot of gristle and fat. The ricotta cheesecake for dessert was lovely. Service was professional and attentive. Amuse bouche and palate cleaner are nice touches. I just wish there was more consistency here, especially given the menu prices.

We have dined just about everywhere in Chester County. This was even better than Gilmore's was, and we loved Gilmore's! If you are looking for an outstanding meal, with French influence, top-notch quality, divine flavors - every morsel on every plate, bowl, spoon was a gift - you need to come here! This was quite possibly one of the best meals I have ever had and every single course and gift from the kitchen was perfect and incredible!

A lovely dinner prior to a concert at Longwood Gardens. Our waiter, Valentino, made sure we had plenty of time to enjoy dinner and still return to the Gardens in plenty of time for the concert. It is less than a 5 minute drive to the Gardens, so it could not be beat for convenience. Food was delicious, service perfect.

Wonderful! This was our second visit and we can't wait to come back again. Food was outstanding. Everything was prepared and presented beautifully. There are a few added surprises with each course like the cucumber sorbet which was fabulous. The chef even makes an appearance to check on each table which is such a nice touch. Elegant dining is back!

We dined on beet salad, duckling and scallops, with a chocolate tasting selection. The environment was quiet, peaceful...a real pleasure!

Cute place set back off of route 1. Very limited setting. They seemed a bit put-off that we did not bring our own wine. I ordered the black bass and my wife had the halibut. You could smell fish as soon as they brought it to the table. It didn't taste bad but it didn't taste very good either. Our salads are not even worth mentioning. We skipped desert and coffee. We just wanted to leave. I cannot recommend.

Enjoyed a delicious meal at The Orchard. We had tickets to the fireworks at Longwood Gardens, so booked an early reservation at The Orchard, our first time dining there. The menu selection is somewhat limited (but still a good selection), but we still had trouble making our selections, because so many dishes sounded good. We ran out of time to enjoy our dessert there, and had to have it boxed up. Make sure you allow for plenty of time to enjoy the meal if you go there. We look forward to returning there again when we aren't on a schedule.

My wife and I enjoyed a wonderful Saturday evening out with a dinner at The Orchard! We will have to return in the future so that we can try more items off the menu but what we had will be tough to beat! For appetizers we had the oysters and a Shrimp Salad. For our Entries we had the line caught Alaskan Halibut and the Day Boat Scallops. I must say, my wife's Halibut was amazing! That does not mean that the Scallops were not very good, but the Halibut was just 'WOW!'. We followed it all up with dessert of an Apple Frangipane tart and a Hazelnut cake. One of the nice things was the portion sizes! Everything was just right. Enough food that we were comfortable but we had room to enjoy dessert! Highly Recommended.

Excellent Dining for those with a fine palate and desire for a different gastronomical experience. If your main interest is flavor and enjoy elegantly decorated courses prepared with quality ingredients then this is the place for you. Desserts were prepared with fresh selected local fruits. The taste of each gourmet entree and its presentation were absolutely wonderful. If you are spending a weekend near Longwood Garden this is a fine option.

All in all, the evening was tremendous and we cannot wait to return to this extraordinary restaurant. The interior was modern minimalist but comfortable, especially the bench seating along the wall. Amuse-bouche was exceptional and offered between every course. In particular we loved their use of local cream in a hot chocolate (the words hot chocolate don't do it justice; it was divine). The waiter was attentive and service overall was excellent. We went there for our anniversary and would recommend it for any special or romantic evening.

This is a restaurant and staff that know how to do it right. From the spacing of courses, to the various amuse-bouche and the friendly staff, it makes for a great night out. It is however very much a 4* restaurant and not a 5* due to a few problems with the food.....a salad that was a bit too dry......and ditto for the dessert.

This is a great romantic spot for date night, special occasions, and intimate small group dining. My husband and I found this place via OpenTable and could not believe that we did not know about this place! The ambience was elegant yet understated. The service was attentive yet non-intrusive. We chose the Grand Nine-Course tasting menu, and enjoyed the arc of flavors presented by the dedicated and talented chef, who used only the best freshest and local ingredients. We had a truly special and romantic evening. The chef took us on a private tour of the upstairs, which would be beautiful for a small group private gathering, with comfy seating, wet bar for the beverages you bring, and dining seating for 20. We look forward to our next visit!

If you enjoy having fresh seasonal foods that are prepared expertly, then I would recommend this restaurant. Being a BYOB, it is a great night out and reasonable. The servers allows you to have time for each course and does not rush you through as some restaurants do at times. It makes the experience memorable. The chef also provides a tasting of foods between courses that are delicious. One of the chef's taste was a zucchini cream soup that was brilliant in color, taste, and texture. I would save room for dessert as it seemed most diners were enjoying and commenting on their desserts which you don't always see in a restaurant. I noticed a chocolate tasting dessert that had several desserts that would be perfect to share.

The Orchard is reminiscent of superb fine dining restaurants of the past. Quiet, refined, with gleaming white linens and excellent service. No one could be disappointed in the food which is exceptionally fresh and well prepared. The menu changes with the seasons and always offers some opportunities that rarely appear on menus outside major cities such as fois gras. Being presented with amuse bouches and between course palate refreshers creates memories of dining in France. Those who appreciate good wine are able to bring exactly what they appreciate matching with each course to this special BYOB. A visit from the chef tops off a most pleasant experience.
