This was our first visit to The Olive Tree. We would describe it as a good quality neighborhood restaurant, which clearly has a number of regulars as customers, who were treated almost as 'family'. Their menu is clearly Mediterranean with a Greek influence, and it offers a good range of choices supplemented during our visit with a number of specials, both appetizers and entrees. Olive Tree is a BYOB. Our waitress was excellent, and described the specials clearly and slowly enough to understand, remember and salivate over, without reference to any notes. We chose from the specials, and really enjoyed the food, although it was perhaps a little on the salty side for our tastes. However, we will go there again.

We enjoy this restaurant very much and eat here several times a year. I love the lamb chops and spanakopita. Our friends enjoyed the mixed grill platter. We've had many good experiences here.

Food was delicious, as always. Consistently given great quality food, beautiful presentation, and delicious. Very quiet evening and enjoyable with some friends. Waitstaff was not very busy, but seemed very preoccupied. First experience with this happening. We will go back as we enjoyed the meal.

Olive Tree is a Greek restaurant on Rt. 113 in Downingtown. It is BYOB which makes dining there a reasonably priced experience. The ambience is plain with, mostly booths, and a few center tables. The service is friendly and efficient. The food is wonderful. I had chicken bruschetta with roasted potatoes and grilled vegetables. It was the thickest chicken breast that I have ever seen and delicious. My take-home was enough for another dinner plus a luncheon. My daughter had the grilled sea bass and was also extremely pleased with the presentation and the taste. Both of the entree's were specials for the night. We have dined there several times and the menu food is also excellent. It is highly recommended.

Walking in was pretty nice; the tables were neat, the room was quiet; nice paintings on most walls. Service was mediocre, but the food was good. Not the best Greek food - we ordered the Moussaka - but the portion was large. Overall, an ok experience. However, it's up to personal taste, so I would say give it a try

The food is fresh and flavorful. From appetizers to dessert and coffee, every course is delicious. We brought two guests this time and they agreed that the food was outstanding for a reasonable price. We all left the restaurant very happy and satisfied.

Decided on trying something different based on reviews and availability in a suburban location. The food looked and sounded very good, our dishes were tasty but not noteworthy. We would possibly dine there again, but do not have an overwhelming urge. It's small and out of the way, the food was good, but you're paying the price.

We've been to the Olive Tree many times over several years and have usually been happy with the food. That being said, the past 2 times we've been there (over the last 2 months) the food has been disappointing. We usually order the same dishes and the quality has been trending downward. I usually get Saganaki and the Chicken Marsala. They've changed the way the Saganaki is served (from a plate to an Iron Skillet) and in doing so have made the portion smaller and more difficult to consume. The Marsala always had a wonderful, thick sauce that you didn't dare waste because it was so good and over time it has gotten much thinner and more mundane. The food is still good but, not like it was.

Service was excellent, especially since we were there rather late. We had gone after a High School graduation and did not arrive until about 8pm. Our waitress was attentive, friendly and did not appear to mind working so late. The food is good. Portions are large. Lamb is especially good here.

This was not our first visit to the Olive Tree Grill...and it will not be the last. This little BYO has some of the best Greek food in Chester County. They offer a number of classic Greek entrees, and some novel ones as well. I highly recommend this place! My favorite thing is Baklava Ice Cream..when I know I look forward to this special desert for days in advance.

Eight of us dined at the Grill and there was not a dish that was not enjoyed. I had the special octopus appetizer and the Branzino dish, both grilled and more delicious than any that I have ever had. My husband had lentil soup and a lamb chop and shrimp dish. The lamb was very tender and uniquely flavored. The rice and vegetable side dishes were also nicely flavored. Service was attentive and we never felt rushed or "waiting". The real plus is the BYOB.

We really enjoyed our Saturday night dinner at the Olive Tree Mediterranean Grill. There was a slight delay in seating us--I'm not sure they keep tabs on reservations made through Open Table as closely as they might, but they found our reservation right away and seated us within 15 minutes of the appointed time even though the restaurant was packed. The service was great and friendly, and the food delectable with so much on the plate, we both took doggie bags home. Many great dishes with a Greek character are available, and I had a traditional American dessert, too.

Wow, we've eaten at the Olive Tree a few times a year pretty much forever. The food is always great. The decor is pleasant but not over-the-top fancy. We went in the early evening. There were families with small children nearby, but it wasn't noisy. My stuffed grape leaves (appetizer) and Mediterranean Tune (entree) were delicious. My wife thinks their lamb is he best around.

we were pleased with our simple order of souvlaki with Greek salad. However, each Greek salad had only two kalamata olives and very little feta cheese. In Greece! we rated salads by the number of olives and the size of the slab of feta.

Looked like a popular place for locals, tables filled at an early hour, several with well behaved children. Lots of competent waitstaff buzzed about the tables, I counted 4 in the area where we were seated. Willing to wait for our dinners, enjoying our wine at this byo but the payoff wasn't there. Husband's entire dinner plate was overdone with dried out meat selection. Mine was slightly better. We traveled a distance for Greek menu and food but unlikely to make that trek again.

I love Greek food. Every Easter my Chef Uncle makes an amazing "Greek" Easter dinner and I love everything he makes. But once a year just doesn't get it done. Finding Olive Tree is like reliving "Greek Easter" whenever I want. My wife and I had a great experience. This BYOB is all about the food. Completely authentic and delicious. We enjoyed the Spanakopita and the Lamb Souvlaki platter and I'd have no problem recommending them to anyone. Can't wait to go back again.

The meal and service were excellent. I expected the surroundings and ambience to be a little bit more upscale. It's a good place to bring a casual date, but I would choose a more polished restaurant environment for a special occasion. I will definitely return again for a good Greek meal, and will recommend to friends.

The food here was excellent, I have never had better Greek food. This is a BYOB establishment, so if you want a glass of wine with dinner make sure you bring it with you. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable about all the dishes and their ingredients. The only real complaint that I have was that it seemed to take a very long time to get more water, as the pregnant person at the table not drinking it cast a pall over dinner. All in all though I would absolutely recommend this restaurant and in fact I have already begun doing so to my friends. I can't wait to go back and experience the delicious food again and again.

A friend of mine and I went to Greece on holiday in June and wanted to relive some of the meals for my birthday dinner. Olive Tree is the perfect place to go. The waitress was very knowledgeable and the BYO makes it a reasonably priced meal and a great nite out. I made reservations a week prior and we received a very nice table in the back of the restaurant. The food brought us right back to Greece. Very authentic and delicious!

I had to drag my husband to this restaurant because he "isn't crazy about Greek food" but I think that he left a very happy man! We enjoy going to BYOB's so that was one of the draws to Olive Tree but I must admit - the food was really delicious AND plentyful. There were four of us at the table and everyone enjoyed this unique, neighborhood restaurant. I will definately come back.
