Diner Reviews
  • "We had a great meal, and a great time, at The Olive & Grape. The Adana kebab was the best we've had in the Seattle area, and the service was also great. Exceeded our expectations!"

  • "All I can say is, bring your stretchy pants, the food is amazing, and you'll not want to stop eating. I had the lamb and enjoyed every bit of it."

  • "Went for Restaurant Week and had a wonderful meal and enjoyable experience. I would definitely recommend to my friends and plan on returning. The staff was great and the food was amazing. No complaints at all."

  • "I wasn't familiar with The Olive & Grape until Seattle's Restaurant Week. A friend and I went because of the positive comments I found online and also because it was in an easy location to access (Greenwood). The food was wonderful and ample! Our hostess (can't remember her name but she may have been an owner) was delightful. She explained the differences between the Greek version of Mousaka and the Turkish version. She gave great recommendations for our soup, entree, and dessert choices. This is a little gem and we'll certainly go back."

  • "I went for the 30$ 3 course meal offer... waitress knew everything to a tee on the menu. I had lamb shank as per her suggestion.. not a big fan of lamb, but YUM!! made a believer out of me!! the feta stuffed pepper was also delicious! the terimesu was a great end to a great meal. I will for sure be back."

  • "we enjoyed a valentine's day dinner there with friends. IT was a fixed menu which was disappointing because I heard there were delicious dishes there but they weren't on the menu. The ambiance and service was good and the food was good...but nothing great. I will return to try other things on their menu."

  • "The food was delicious all around. Very fun 4 course valentines special, really made the dinner fun and special. Looking forward to coming back."

  • "My wife and I were wonderfully surprised by this neighborhood gem. Honestly, I chose it last minute because there was an available table at our needed time and the reviews were good. Good indeed! Ambience is great, service was excellent without an ounce of pretension and our food was great and perfectly portioned. We both agree that we've found our new favorite Mediteranian restaurant."

  • "We really enjoy the flavors and variety of food here. The lamb trio was very nice."

  • "Dropped in for lunch -- street parking no problem. Moussaka like you haven't had before. Told it was a family recipe - glad they kept it. Almost everything made in house, they told us. Delicious baklava."

  • "Tough spot to find as it is along Greenwood at 85th. Busy part of the street and you wont see it unless you are looking. So find a place to park, and walk Greenwood on the east side to the ne 85th intersection, and it is two doors north of there. Great middle Mediteranian food,. All those foods that are special to that area are expertly prepared. Will return for sure>>>>>>>>>>>"

  • "The Olive and Grape is my favorite restaurant in the Greenwood area. It's inside, but you feel like you're sitting on the patio of a mediterranean restaurant. The food, wine and service are great, and you can also have Turkish coffee. I had the most delicious moussaka, Greek salad, baklava and a Turkish wine. We were there during Restaurant Week, and plan to go back when we see another play at Taproot."

  • "The food is always excellent, and owner Paula is the sweetest. She is very friendly and always welcoming and kind. When we casually mentioned we had started a new diet, Paula immediately adjusted our entrees to support it. She and the entire staff are great."

  • "My wife and I love The Olive & Grape. The Turkish tea, Baklava and Tiramisu are to die for!"

  • "The food and service was spectacular. This was a birthday dinner for our son and the server provided great descriptions of each dish, offered recommendations based on the food and our preferences rather than menu prices and suggested perfect wine pairings. I loved the food, but the server was particularly knowledgeable and helpful, in a very unobtrusive manner."

  • "Best Turkish food in Seattle. This is the real thing. Get over there soon!"
    Dined on 4/12/2012
  • "Great food! Service wasn't stellar as the place was really busy and only one server. Tried the O and G because of Seattle Restaurant Week. Will def come back. Their lamb meatballs were wonderful."
    Dined on 4/12/2012
  • "Service was a little slow. After waiting a while to place our order, the server brought an incorrect appetizer and left before we could let him know about the error. Once he finally came back, he rectified the error by letting us keep the incorrect dish but brought out a lukewarm plate of what we actually ordered. The main course and dessert were good, but nothing mind blowing. Not really worth the price and not up to the standard of other restaurants we've visited during Seattle Restaurant Week."

  • "Great food in a unasuming sidewalk setting. The Sunday night we visited they were very understaffed, but the single waiter did his best to keep thinkgs moving. Despite a longer wait than usuall, the food was hot and good quality. We will be back"

  • "We had a disturbing experience at this restaurant. We were on time for our 6:30 reservation, identified ourselves by name as an Open Table reservation and were seated promptly. The restaurant was about 1/3 full and things went downhill from there. Service was slow and inattentive, food was good but not wow, and the waitress (we think an owner) asked us to leave at 8:00 PM so she could give our table to another party. We had just started our 2nd bottle of wine and did not yet have dessert, so declined. She was not diplomatic about it, didn't offer any compromise like "We made a mistake with our reservations, how about I offer you free dessert to-go?" She got pushy, so we gulped the remainder of our wine at 8:30 & left. Unprofessional!"

  • "The Olive and Grape had an amazing selection of Turkish and Italian foods. The owner not only told us about the dishes but also explained their significance in Turkish culture. We had a wonderful evening."

  • "A well-intentioned, friendly waiter served us when there, but one of our appetizers was forgotten and they were out of beer. We waited a while to get two glasses of wine, at a time when the restaurant was about 1/3 full. Those behaviors present a 'not-ready-for-prime-time' atmosphere in my limited opinion, so I won't jump at the chance to come back here. I'm sure there are other valuable qualities this place has that I didn't have an opportunity to experience."
    Dined on 2/20/2012
  • "Food was good but felt a bit pricey for what it was. Service got really slow as restaurant filled up. Great selection of tasty appetizers."
    Dined on 2/17/2012
  • "Very good med food. Will definitely recommend to friends."
    Dined on 2/14/2012
  • "I took my girlfriend there for Valentine's Day. The menu is exceptional, especially the Turkish part. Having travelled through Turkey extensively, I feel comfortable in saying this is about as close as you will get to Turkish food in the Seattle area. Ambiance was great... not noisy but not dead quiet. The wait staff was excellent. Highly recommended."
    Dined on 2/14/2012
  • "What a wonderful surprise! Nestled in Greenwood, the Olive & Grape's somewhat humble exterior hides a cozy, somewhat rustic interior. The eclectic menu offers many savory choices; we chose the Turkish Grill Platter that was nothing short of fantastic. Service was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was lively, but not too noisy for enjoying dinner conversation. Definitely worth a look!"

  • "Large diverse menu. Everything we tried was delicious! Can't wait to come back to try more! Must try: Baked Gnocci and the manti dumplings!"

  • "We went for our New Years Eve dinner. The service was friendly and authentic. The food was delicious and plentiful. I would definitely recommend."

  • "Friendly and competent, but overworked service. "Mediterranean," but limited to Turkish and Italian. Free parking rear of restaurant."
    Dined on 12/13/2011
  • "I can't rate the food as we left before we were seated, so my rating is based on what I saw, not what I tasted. We had a reservation at 7:00 and we decided to leave at 7:15 after watching two groups that came in after us, get seated before us. They did have live music which was entertaining, but they appeared too short staffed to handle the crowd."
