The Olive and Grape opened in September 2010. The owner, Paola Corsini, is third-generation Italian Levantine, born and raised in Izmir, Turkey.   • "I wasn't familiar with The Olive & Grape until Seattle's Restaurant Week. A friend and I went because of the positive comments I found online and also because it was in an easy location to access (Greenwood). The food was wonderful and ample! Our hostess (can't remember her name but she may have been an owner) was delightful. She explained the differences between the Greek version of Mousaka and the Turkish version. She gave great recommendations for our soup, entree, and dessert choices. This is a little gem and we'll certainly go back."

I had lamb shank as per her suggestion.. not a big fan of lamb, but YUM!! made a believer out of me!! the feta stuffed pepper was also delicious! the terimesu was a great end to a great meal. Good indeed! Ambience is great, service was excellent without an ounce of pretension and our food was great and perfectly portioned. We both agree that we've found our new favorite Mediteranian restaurant."

  • "Tough spot to find as it is along Greenwood at 85th. Busy part of the street and you wont see it unless you are looking. So find a place to park, and walk Greenwood on the east side to the ne 85th intersection, and it is two doors north of there. Great middle Mediteranian food,. All those foods that are special to that area are expertly prepared. Will return for sure>>>>>>>>>>>"

  • "The Olive and Grape is my favorite restaurant in the Greenwood area. It's inside, but you feel like you're sitting on the patio of a mediterranean restaurant. The food, wine and service are great, and you can also have Turkish coffee. I had the most delicious moussaka, Greek salad, baklava and a Turkish wine. We were there during Restaurant Week, and plan to go back when we see another play at Taproot."

This was a birthday dinner for our son and the server provided great descriptions of each dish, offered recommendations based on the food and our preferences rather than menu prices and suggested perfect wine pairings. I loved the food, but the server was particularly knowledgeable and helpful, in a very unobtrusive manner."

  • "Service was a little slow. After waiting a while to place our order, the server brought an incorrect appetizer and left before we could let him know about the error. Once he finally came back, he rectified the error by letting us keep the incorrect dish but brought out a lukewarm plate of what we actually ordered. The main course and dessert were good, but nothing mind blowing. Not really worth the price and not up to the standard of other restaurants we've visited during Seattle Restaurant Week."

  • "We had a disturbing experience at this restaurant. We were on time for our 6:30 reservation, identified ourselves by name as an Open Table reservation and were seated promptly. The restaurant was about 1/3 full and things went downhill from there. Service was slow and inattentive, food was good but not wow, and the waitress (we think an owner) asked us to leave at 8:00 PM so she could give our table to another party. We had just started our 2nd bottle of wine and did not yet have dessert, so declined. She was not diplomatic about it, didn't offer any compromise like "We made a mistake with our reservations, how about I offer you free dessert to-go?" She got pushy, so we gulped the remainder of our wine at 8:30 & left. Unprofessional!"

We waited a while to get two glasses of wine, at a time when the restaurant was about 1/3 full. Those behaviors present a 'not-ready-for-prime-time' atmosphere in my limited opinion, so I won't jump at the chance to come back here. I'm sure there are other valuable qualities this place has that I didn't have an opportunity to experience."

  • "I took my girlfriend there for Valentine's Day. The menu is exceptional, especially the Turkish part. Having travelled through Turkey extensively, I feel comfortable in saying this is about as close as you will get to Turkish food in the Seattle area. Ambiance was great... not noisy but not dead quiet. The wait staff was excellent. Highly recommended."

The eclectic menu offers many savory choices; we chose the Turkish Grill Platter that was nothing short of fantastic. Service was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was lively, but not too noisy for enjoying dinner conversation. Definitely worth a look!"

  • "I can't rate the food as we left before we were seated, so my rating is based on what I saw, not what I tasted. We had a reservation at 7:00 and we decided to leave at 7:15 after watching two groups that came in after us, get seated before us. They did have live music which was entertaining, but they appeared too short staffed to handle the crowd."
