Diner Reviews
  • "I had read a few mixed reviews but had been here for lunch several years ago and wanted to take my granddaughter. The food was great as was a drink in the basement bar while waiting on our table. She LOVES pot pies and said this one was the best she'd ever had."

  • "Absolutely loved everything about this restaurant. The beauty of the restaurant alone would be a 10 on my list. I have to admit to being amazed the food and service were equal to the beauty. The blackened oysters were possibly one of the best things I have ever eaten. However, I think I said the exact same thing about the filet and fried green tomatoes. This restaurant is a must if vising Savannah."

  • "We watched Diana perform and she was a true entertainer, which in my opinion helps set the mood and experience of this resturaunt. She is a true gem. Also,, can't remember her name but she is new and ran red lobster for years. She waited on us Tuesday night in the tavern. She could run the place. Excellent!!"

  • "This was our second time here in over 12 years and it was very similar to the first time. We were seated promptly even being about 15 minutes early and it being very busy. The atmosphere isn't very romantic and it can be a bit noisy when there are large groups like there was this time. The food was good and plentiful. I liked the crispy flounder but my husband wasn't thrilled with the pork chops. Service was very good until the end. We had about four bites left of dessert when it was abruptly taken away and replaced with the bill. In other words, you're done here. Move along."

  • "Very good, friendly, efficient service except for unnecessary "my personal favorite" comments on selections. Beautiful house, lots of old world charm. We had the appetizer "platters" which gave us a varied selection of little plates - some very good, some quite ordinary. Would try main courses next time. Would definitely return and recommend to anyone visiting Savannah."

  • "I wouldn't say The Olde Pink House had the best food in Savannah, but it might have the best history lesson. I think any tourist should go eat here once, but if you're a local there might not be much incentive to go back. Service was polished and well trained, but wasn't as warm or friendly as we'd like. Food was good, but very expensive. For the cost, it should have been great. If you go, make sure you walk around and see the interior of the entire house. The bar downstairs is very cool."

  • "Wonderful night out with my sweetheart, and wanted to celebrate my love for him. Thank you for a wonderful evening out. Service was wonderful and the food was very delightful in taste and presentation."

  • "Would be a nice place to bring a date and have a nice meal. Personally I thought the menu was a little basic for the money and my scallops were a little over done. Just left a little too long on the skillet is all though, nothing major. I was a little unimpressed with the food and portions. Just seems a little plain, and a little expensive for what you get. Very nice location though, and super friendly staff."

  • "Food was very good ambiance amazing. Waiter took the time to give us a little history lesson. One of our favorite places to eat while in savannah."

  • "This restaurant prepares food that has bee popular in the Savannah area for centuries. They do it with the authenticity, style, service & elegant ambience of the era of it's prime not often found today. Each dish is prepared to an excellence and care that anyone would compliment. I am so pleased that this cordial appreciation of patrons still exists in some places. In our modern day streamlining, we have lost a lot of charm, but not The Olde Pink House. Charm and a cordial welcome is in every room and in every employee!"

  • "This is a great place to soak up the history from a waiter and have great food and excellent service then head to the dungeon like bar in the basement or the newer side bar to linger the night away."

  • "We were visiting charleston for a few days and this restaurant was recommended for my sisters birthday dinner. Service was excellent - everyone was well trained and attentive. They had a singer circulating. The food was good. My sister and I both had the fish which was well recommended. My husband had the shrimp and scallops and he complained that he got 3 shrimp. Thought it was too pricy for that. My brother in law had porkchops and he enjoyed it. The four meals came to $168"

  • "You can count on The Olde Pinke House to always be great! The food and service were excellent and there was a lady singing to enhance the ambiance of this beautiful old (possibly haunted) house. There isn't a bad seat in the entire restaurant and the basement bar is great too with wonderful music. When in Savannah, this is a just-do!"

  • "You can't beat dining in a home built in 1771! Ambiance was very nice. I had the special; fried softshell crab with mustard sauce, collard greens, red rice and andouille sausage. The rice was good, but nothing to write home about. I don't usually eat fried food, but I couldn't pass it up. The batter was not too heavy and tasted wonderful with the sauce, which there wasn't too much of...perfect in my opinion! We also got the spinach and scallop appetizer....just an FYI, you only get 2 scallops, but they were perfectly prepared and delicious. Our service was unbeatable and I am pretty particular. There was also a really lovely traveling singer (she had a great voice!) in our dining room. Overall, a pricey but very good experience!"

  • "The service and food were good, but not as good as it could be. Service was a little rushed. Hadn't finished apps when dinner showed up. Scallops were cooked perfect, too bad you only got 3. Very pricey for 3 scallops. Drinks were very good. Was going to get a bottle of wine, however they had Dom for $320. Wow that's a lot for a bottle of wine you can get from under $100 retail. Overall, nice ambience though rushed and pricey."

  • "We dined at the Olde Pink House on the occasion of my daughter' and my wife's birthdays. We had a most enjoyable experience. Food was great, the setting is rich with history, and our waiter was the most enjoyable and attentive we have had in many years. In all, a great evening."

  • "The Olde Pink House was a wonderful dining experience from the superb menu, perfectly prepared fare to historical ambiance of the building. Appreciating early American history, we enjoyed hearing the building's place in history and the contributions to its construction by Thomas Jefferson. The wait-staff were very attentive and courteous."

  • "We waited for our table downstairs in the bar where there was a pianist and we enjoyed our soup down there. Once we were seated, I ordered the filet mignon and my husband had soft shelled crabs. The filet was perfectly cooked and as tender as any I've ever had. The entire dinner was delicious. Definitely a special treat!"

  • "This place was fantastic! I wish I would have discovered it earlier in my trip! The service was outstanding! We had the crab stuffed grouper and the flounder. Everything was delicious! For a cocktail, the "Pink Lady" is a must!"

  • "The waiter announced to us he was extremely busy due to a large table in back and the service showed all night long. It was terrible. I was stung by a bee when we were seated and we practically had to tackle a waiter to get ice water to reduce the swelling. The hostest who promised to get ice didn't return and the manager showed up 10 minutes later and appeared to be more concerned with making sure I wasn't going to sue the restaurant. He quipped that my drink would alieve the pain but he didn't offer to comp it. Not that I was looking for free food but the overall service was disappointing. I would not recommend."

  • "I was nervous when they said they overbooked and my reservation wasn't ready right away, but tye quickly took care of it and we were given a complementary tour after our dinner was over since we had to wait. The staff were extremely helpful."

  • "This is our third visit. Historic section Savannah 1700's home. Go early and have a drink downstairs in the original tavern.Very friendly bartenders. A romantic dinner for 2 in the vault is an option. Sat upstairs in the new addition noisy ballroom, would have been great for a wedding. Beautiful low country murals. Next time request a smaller quieter room. The office or den. Service wonderful...food good. Southern style, "meat and 2"Loved the mac and cheese. Softshell crabs expensive $38.00 too fried but other diners had the pork shank. Fall off the bone.Too full for desserts but they looked great. Loved the history, very friendly knowledgeable wait staff. Looked like a few tables on the sidewalk.Side bar busy..kid friendly dining. A must"

  • "I was only in Savannah for one night, and I knew this was the only restaurant to choose. The building is beautiful inside and out. The food is fantastic, and the prices are good considering the quality (I got whole flounder that I thought was perfectly cooked, and a good price). I recommend it to all."

  • "Everything from our arrival was outstanding. We arrived at our reservation time, table was ready, our waiter came immediately and we were off on an amazing display of why this restaurant consistently is rated the best in Savannah. We were still talking about our meal and the overall excellence of the restaurant during the remainder of our trip. Visit here early in your Savannah trip and you will return before you return home."

  • "My husband & I recently traveled to Savannah to celebrate our 1 year wedding anniversary. We heard such great things about The Olde Pink house so we had to check it out. They did not disappoint! Upon arrival we were greeted by a lovely gentleman and we were seated within 5 minutes. We sat in the master bedroom which was quiet and romantic. Our server was wonderful and very informative. The food was excellent! I'd highly reccomend the scallops. We were stuffed from dinner & didn't have room for dessert, but our waitress was so sweet and brought us a plate of strawberries & whipped cream with "happy anniversary" in chocolate. Lovely touch! After dinner we toured the house-try to do this if you can. Overall everything was wonderful!"

  • "After hearing all these lovely things about the history and quality of food. I had high expectations. I was really surprised at how mediocre the food was. I have eaten all over Savannah on this trip and even went to Charleston for two nights and this was the only one that didn't live up to name. Shrimp pasta -shrimp was overcooked and linguini was stuck together in some parts and hard at end. My mom was given wrong order and we had to wait with out food out till they replaced. BBQ sliders -it was soppy. Pecan Crusted Chicken- Sauce was ok and ghe collard greens was good. The only meal I thought was decent was shrimp and grits appetizer. The restaurant needs to work on quality and presentation of the food not live off what it use to be."

  • "As usual, the food was excellent. Service was great. Ambience was wonderful. Enjoyed the lady dressed in the 1800 attire and her welcomed visit and singing. Can't wait to be back in Savannah so I can eat at the Olde Pink House Restaurant again."

  • "If a quiet meal is important to you, I recommend requesting a quiet spot when making a reservation. The food is flavorful and expertly prepared, although the portions tend to be smaller in comparison to the chain restaurants. Their signature dessert is incredible. Be sure to check out the bar in the basement -- it's one-of-a-kind."

  • "Our first night in Savannah, we ate here. We are so glad we did! This restaurant has the "old southern charm", history, wonderful staff and the best food! The staff was very happy to spend time talking about the history of the house and time permitting - take their guests on a tour of the house!"

  • "I cannot say enough about the excellent service and food at The Old Pink House Restaurant. Everyone in my party of 3 raved about their choice of entrée. I was born and raised in the South and I can honestly say that that their collards and buttermilk biscuits are among the best if not the best I have ever eaten. I would highly recommend the fried green tomato and crab cake appetizer as well as the shrimp and grits. I don't think you can go wrong with what ever you order. And don't forget to save room for dessert. The praline basket with ice cream and fresh fruit was amazing. Don't waste your money or time on any other restaurant in Savannah. I would return to Savannah just to eat at The Old Pink House Restaurant."

  • "Feel pampered and enjoy this wonderful place. From the warm greeting at the door to a seat in this wonderful old home, the experience is divine. Not being from the deep South, we tried some true Southern specialties. The fried green tomatoes and collard greens were to die for! The portions are large so we split items in order have more variety. Have to give high marks to the service, our waitress was sweet and attentive. Hope to visit Savannah again."

  • "This restaurant was highly recommended by pretty much everyone - our family who had visited, our concierge, our tour guide - but I can't say it quite lived up to the hype. Maybe they were having an off night service wise. Arrived 30 minutes before our reservation on a Tuesday night to have a drink at the bar, which was overly crowded with people waiting for tables. Went back to the hostess 5 minutes before our reservation and checked in. We waited in the crowded entryway with no seating for 15 minutes to finally be seated. Our table was wonderful but it took our waitress 15 minutes to bring us our drinks and then take our orders. It got better from there and the food was excellent, but they really need to work on seating people on time."
