Diner Reviews
  • "The food was great and our server took us on a great 20 minute tour of the house! "

  • "I was soooo skeptical about going here too eat because of the tourist factor, but i was traveling with two teenagers and wanted them to see the house and hey, we were tourists! Very pleasantly surprised at the great food, wait staff, and ambiance. The place is HUGE, many different themed rooms and 2 bar areas, but yet they managed to put together really good meals from ONE kitchen. I will definitely go back next time I am in Savannah."

  • "Crazy busy but when seated everything was orderly. Great table with view of square. Amazing old home/bank and now an excellent restaurant. Very friendly and professional waitress. Food was incredible. All the staff are amazingly friendly. Only complaint, not a very generous martini. Definitely would go back."

  • "What's a better venue than dining in a historic mansion. We loved it! The only downside was the noise level. We were seated in the ballroom and there were a lot of groups there which made the noise level much higher than if we were in one of the smaller rooms. "

  • "The restaurant is in an old Savannah house that was built in the early 1800's. It is believed to be haunted. The wine list is extensive and the food is very good, but pricey. The two fish dinners, one was the flounder and the other was a replacement for the grouper I ordered from the menu - they didn't have grouper that day. Our waitress, although friendly, never mentioned that the grouper in the recipe had been replaced with red fish - I overheard another waiter telling his table after I had placed my order for grouper. The desserts were amazing - best part of the meal! I do feel that you can get as good a meal for less money at other Savannah restaurants."

  • "We followed waiter Stan's recommendations. Shrimp and grits appetizer, fried green tomatoes with applewood bacon salad, and crispy scored flounder with apricot sauce. By far, the best meal we had during our stay in Savannah. Portions were generous but not outrageous. Still had no room for dessert because we cleaned our plates."

  • "Service was nice and personable. The food was very good, particularly the scallops. Wine list was fabulous. Truly enjoyed our experience and loved that the waiter recommended the piano bar in the basement as we were leaving which was fabulous and also brought a special surprise when we told him we had just gotten engaged right before dinner. Truly made us feel comfortable and important."

  • "Amazing food! The scallops and pork loin were melt in your mouth delicious. The sweet potatoes with warm vanilla pecan butter were dessert like and left me wanting more. The BLT salad is a winner! The flavor combination of the fried green tomato and caramelized bacon was unlike any other. Joey, our server, was on top of it all and provided a memorable dining experience. My only regret is where we were seated. When I made the reservation I requested for the two of us to be seated in the basement as it was highly suggested by others. We were seated upstairs in the small, very dark, and very warm old banker's office. Wish that was different and my request would have been accommodated for an Ohio couple celebrating a 40th birthday celebration."

  • "My husband and I had a wonderful dining experience here ! We were given a nice table, the food was delicious and we received exceptional service from all staff we encountered. As tourists that is not always the case but this restaurant really knows how to provide a positive experience. We plan to return next year on our way north."

  • "Probably the best dining experience I have had in years. Food and service were thru the roof. So good, I plan to return as soon as possible."

  • "Mixed emotions here. Was seated right away (+) but it took 15 minutes to g.et water and 25 minutes to get a cocktail after ordering. The restaurant is vast with many rooms and the bar is 2 or 3 floors below. Menu is extensive and low-country rich. I tried to offset the richness by asking that no cream sauce, just a bit of olive oil, be available on the side for my main course. Despite that, the dish still came with parmesan cheese, pecans and a pool of balsamic vinegar. Our server tried very hard to make up for the kitchen/bar shortcomings including having a manager come over offering to replate the dish. But don't go for a great food experience...you will be disappointed."

  • "There was a twist tie in our jalapeno popper appetizer which luckly we found by cutting into it. They seemed mildly apologetic and didn't even take it off the bill."

  • "We've been to the Pink House many times. Love the service and the atmosphere but the food is mediocre and not what one would expect from a high end restaurant. We had the deep fried flounder, which is their signature dish and it was overcooked. Too much of the menu is deep fried and quite heavy. It's a good place to go for out of towners, due to the ambience, but not a place for foodies"

  • "We have been coming to The Olde Pink House for years, and it is as good as ever. It really is an old house so it’s lots of smallish rooms. There are some bigger areas upstairs. The bathrooms used to be like those you would find in an old house, but they have been much improved in recent years. The crispy scored flounder is their signature dish and I order it almost every time. When they are busy, it can be a little overdone, but every bite is still tasty. The wine list is excellent. They have a singer, Sida Sams, (on weekends only, I think) who comes around to the tables and takes requests. It may seem a little kitschy, but it’s fun. She has a great personality, and a nice voice. There is also a fabulous piano bar in the basement."

  • "The Old Pink House is certainly worth a trip for a special occasion on vacation or a special event. The food is just a little above average, and a bit overpriced, but the atmosphere, service, and location are first rate."

  • "Highly recommended for a romantic dinner. The service is above average with more than excellent attention to detail. The staff ensures a great experience. I highly recommend retiring to the basement lounge for dessert and after dinner cocktails."

  • "My wife and I went there for our first wedding anniversary and it was nearly perfect! The food was excellent and our waiter, Joey, was one of the best we've ever had. He was funny and knowledgeable about everything on the menu and suggested an excellent wine to go with dinner that was not an expensive bottle, which can be a risk at times when asking for wine suggestions. The noise level was perfect as it was easy to talk to each other. The only knock was that we had a reservation but had to wait over half an hour for our table to become available and there was little communication from the hostess about what was going on. But once we sat down it was a spectacular evening! We will certainly be going back the next time we're in Savannah."

  • "Had a wonderful meal there. Food was outstanding. Service was excellent as well. Always order ravioli, but typically don't enjoy it by the end. I was left wanting more of the hand-made ravioli filled with sweet potatoes and Vidalia onions. Just great. Highly recommend this restaurant."

  • "Visited with a girlfriend on a girls weekend -good service and food in a great atmosphere! Worth the few extra minutes to walk around and take a peek at the entire house - just gorgeous!"

  • "I have visited Savannah many times and tried several places to eat. I would consider myself somewhat of a foodie and always thought the Pink House was just too obvious and likely too "touristy", so I had never eaten there. However, on a recent girls weekend, I decided to try it out, if for no other reason than because my friends had read so much about it. We had the most wonderful experience. I appreciated the variety of price points on the menu, the flexibility of the kitchen, the fabulous food, great service and reasonable wine list. We all raved on our walk back to our hotel. I will absolutely make it a point to eat there each time I go to Savannah. The restaurant deserves all the accolades it consistently receives."

  • "Felt welcome right away! Manager came around and gave each table personal attention, informative! Loved the combo of roll, biscuit, and corn bread! Best biscuit I've ever had. Great wines, everything cooked great! Sorbet combo yummy! So full I couldn't finish it all. Highly enjoyable experience."

  • "Great meal. I ordered the New York and it was cooked perfectly. The oysters on a half shell were local and fresh. Also had the fried green tomato blt salad and that was amazing. And when I was in Savannah I tried a few and they had the best Sazerac in town The ambiance was amazing, just sorry we did not see the Habersham ghost. Got more "yes sir" and "thank you sir" than I have in another dozen restaurant visits. And it was tough to drink water because they refilled them so often. This last remark is a little tongue and cheek. Don't miss this spot, if I get back there will do it again."

  • "The food was okay except for cold she-crab soup. The table was in the corner just off the front entrance and very comfortable. The service was attentive, friendly but not extraordinary. I would of liked some banter, for example, someone to ask me where I was from and if I wanted the lowdown on the history of restaurant or the dining room we were situated. We had fun!"

  • "I have eaten at the Pink house many times before but after this past experience I doubt that I will ever return. The steaks we ordered were fatty and tough and my other friend had a fried pork chop that was very disappointing to him. The waitress did not seem to care that we were dissatisfied with our meals. Never again. Thank you"

  • "Our server, Bree, was outstanding, informative, and exceeded expectations. All our food was delicious and it was a great way to end our sisters get-together in Savannah. Very glad we went here!"

  • "Loved the old world charm of this restaurant. I've never had flounder before and enjoyed it very much. Definitely go to the tavern in the basement for drinks. It's a must!"

  • "The restaurant was unbelievably loud, service was poor and food was so disappointing. My food was cold when it finally arrived; I told the waitress who took it away and never heard from her about it again until she brought the check...with my food still on the bill! We had to wait another 10 minutes for her to take it off the bill and 15 to run our credit card. Beautiful interior but I wouldn't recommend going. Other places are better - food and service."

  • "This restaurant was recommended to us and did not disappoint. Intriguing menu, great wine list and a wonderful overall experience. We enjoyed the music in the bar after our meal."

  • "This was out first visit to Savannah. We went to the restaurant with great expectations. We were seated in the main dinning room where several large groups were also seated. The noise level started loud and escalated through dinner. We didn't realize until after dinner that there were other more intimate rooms available. We had the signature flounder dish which was good and the server was very good except that he knew we were uncomfortable with the noise level but did not offer us information or the option of moving to a less noisy room. We probably should have left as soon as the noise level became uncomfortable. Instead we left disappointed with a headache. If your looking for a intimate dinner insist on a table in a small dinning room."

  • "We dined at the Olde Pink House for the second time and were not disappointed. The food is outstanding. I had fried lobster tails, unusual and very good. The building is historical and beautiful. Service was impeccable. We would highly recommend this restaurant................expensive but well worth it."

  • "My brother-in-law recommended this restaurant, he had dined there before. The staff was extremely friendly, we had a wonderful waiter named David who made our dining experience especially positive. We started with a lovely cool Georgia non alcoholic drink "peach Nehi" (can't wait to order it on-line) and some delicious cheese stick to nibble on while we waited for our lunch, starting with the "she crab soup" followed by "crab cakes" (all lump crab meat and deliciously spiced), the home cut fries were a little chewy and we ended the meal with the "praline confection", one word "scrumptious"! Definitively a restaurant we will visit again on another southern road trip."

  • "I have to say, while this historic place is an institution, it fell short of my high expectations. The appetizers were great, but the entree (scoured flounder) was overcooked with little meat and I wouldn't recommend it. The service was excellent."

  • "It was our second visit to Pink House and food was excellent. Great service as well. My wife and I were first seated next to a loud party. Without asking the server, she apologized for the noise and asked if we would like to be seated elsewhere. Great dinner and amazing building."

  • "From start to finish this was an excellent choice. We were seated promptly, our server Josh knew the menu intimately and made excellent recommendations for our dinner. The food arrived quickly and prepared as we had requested. All the wait staff were knowledgeable and friendly. I can see why this restaurant consistently gets glowing reviews."
