Diner Reviews
  • "We have gone to the Old Warsaw several times for special celebration dinners. The ambience and charm are warm and inviting. The two fixed price menu options offer some great choices at a better price than the a la carte menu. The food was wonderful. Only a couple of minor glitches marred the evening. The Simi Cabernet we ordered was not in stock. One of our soufflés fell and they indicated it would be 10 - 15 minutes for another one to be prepared. It came out about 45 minutes later. While we were waiting for the dessert, no one stopped by our table for over 30 minutes, not even to refresh the coffee. We were pretty much "invisible" until the dessert came out, and even then we were not offered a refill on the coffee."

  • "Salad lettuce was brown and soggy from too much dressing. Steak was not memorable compared to other steakhouses in Dallas. Truffle mac and cheese was soupy instead of creamy. Baked potato was undercooked. We ate at the restaurant on a Friday evening, 4/11, between 5pm-6pm and we were the only diners in the restaurant. Service was okay, however we waited in the restaurant lobby for over 5 minutes before anyone came to the front to seat us. I'm not sure how this place stays in business."

  • "old fashioned European style restaurant - never felt rushed - staff attentive (for them most part) - great place for a special occasion (we celebrated our 20th wedding anniv.)"

  • "The food and service were great. We both had escargot, she had Steak Diane and I had the snapper with crawfish. For dessert she had the souffle' and I had the apple pie and ice cream. All were excellent. The violinist and pianist really added a nice touch. The reviews are somewhat mixed. My take is that we showed up dressed in Sport Coat and nice dress with smiles on our faces and we had excellent service and food. This is a great old restaurant with a seasoned staff that I think appreciates customers treating their visit like it is something special and they will make sure it is special for you."

  • "The Old Warsaw Dallas is one of our favorite selections for fine dining. The entire staff, as well as the ambiance are impeccable. We especially love the violinist & piano players."

  • "I believe my husband and I have been there 3 times and the food is always amazing. The service is awesome. You never have to wave down your server. They always make sure you are satisfied with your food and drink. We have recommended several people there. Can't wait to go back."

  • "I picked this restaurant for my Sorority sisters that came into town to celebrate our 33rd anniversary. The food and service was excellent. I see why it is rated a five star restaurant."

  • "Elegant atmosphere--gorgeous chandeliers. Welcoming atmosphere in room. Warmest waiter was man who filled drinks. Other waiters not rude, just very neutral. We were early reservations so only diners in room. Did not understand why other diners were all clustered around us as they arrived, so everyone could hear other tables' conversations. This is not a large dining room so waiters would not have far to go if diners spread out until room filled up. Food very good. Meat tender, crab large chunks. Dishes offered such as beef Wellington, cherries jubilee, and bananas foster that I seldom see on menus. However, I left not feeling satisfied that entire experience was worth the price; yet cannot point to anything specific.."

  • "We decided to celebrate our five year anniversary at the Warsaw because of the good reviews. It was name one of the most romantic places and we had an amazing time. The food, the service and the music were amazing."

  • "When we first entered the restaurant I was excited thinking I was about to have a great filet, oh what a lie! The old men running around the restaurant pretending to be waiters should have been the first sign of a horrible meal experience, it toak 15 minutes for someone to come to our table! The live music was great! Now the ordering! I ordered a crab cake for starters, it was okay then after 1 hour 23 minutes my prime filet finally made it to the table, I ordered it medium! First it was cooked wrong, the steak was so dry, did I say dry! Felt like it was made in the morning, warmed up the served at our table! I would never refer my worst enemy here!"

  • "The ambience and service was amazing, especially with the pianist and violinist playing in the hall! Although the food was ok. I have cooked a better ribeye at home though for way cheaper!"

  • "We had a lovely evening. Celebrated our wedding anniversary and were most happy about our decision to dine at Old Warsaw. Although we had read some negative reviews we stayed with our decision to dine there. We are SO happy we did not change our minds. The steaks were incredible. Cooked exactly to our specifications. Our fabulous waiter was Estevan. Thoroughly enjoyed the music and the violinist. We will be back and will take our grown children next time. Probably not a place to take the little ones to."

  • "The Old Warsaw has been around over 50 years in Dallas. It was my father-in-law's favorite. My wife and I have been there about four times now. Excellent food served in a romantic ambience! Great for a special occasion. Try the combo # 1 special. A decent value, which includes soup or salad, etc, a few main courses to pick from, and a selection of savory desserts!"

  • "We went to the Old Warsaw the Monday after Valentine's Day (Friday before). There were only 3-4 couples in the entire restaurant. Service was great. Lobster tail wasn't quite as big as I thought it should be. New York Strip was fantastic! Great choice. They say it tends to be crowded but if you can catch it at the right time it's a very romantic restaurant."

  • "We went to The Old Warsaw to celebrate Valentine's Day. We did have to wait a bit even though we had a reservation. I enjoyed the decor - especially the shark tank and the chandeliers. The entertainment was live and very nice as well. The food was very good, but not the best I have had in Dallas for that price. The services was good, but since it was a busy night the servers seemed a bit rushed. Overall a good experience to have as it is an oldie but goodie in Dallas, but not the best experience I have had for fine dining in Dallas."

  • "We were disappointed in the quality of the food, particularly the steak in the recent Valentine menu. The deserts were average. I had requested a booth, but was initially shown to a table, in the middle of the restaurant. Three booths were open, and after repeating the request, we were seated at a more private booth. In comparison, our previous visit was for Thanksgiving a few years ago, which exceeded all expectations."

  • "I went to this restaurant after a recommendation from a coworker. I was very disappointed in the food selection, service, and table set up. I felt since it was Valentines weekend they were trying to get as many people in as possible to make as much money as possible. The tables were so close together that we could not speak privately and I could touch the person sitting at the table next to me. The quality of food was not worth the price and I will never go back again. The waiter was unable to give any detail regarding how the dishes were prepared and he brought our carry out dessert in a brown paper lunch bag. If you want to go to a nice high quality restaurant skip this place and go to Pappas Bros."

  • "I have never been so disrespected in my life. Food was ok. My Wellington was soggy on the bottom. Bisque was great. Veggies were dull and soggy. ESTAVAN was so rude. He barely came by our table. I had to wave someone down for a refill. I took my wife here on valentines day 2014. I spent good money to be completely disrespected."

  • "I got exactly what I ordered, but nothing to make the meal "special". Everything was just the high side of well done, except the dessert. I'm not totally familiar with souffle, but I'm fairly sure it's not supposed to taste of raw egg. This was a fine restaurant once, I can tell, but it has definitely seen better days. We went on a Sunday night and it wasn't very crowded, yet they sat the few diners that were there in EXTREMELY close proximity. It's very difficult to have a romantic evening with another person's chair bumping into your own constantly. Call Gordon Ramsay or Robert Irvine now, before it's too late!"

  • "This restaurant holds a special place in my heart; I proposed to my wife here almost 3 years ago. The atmosphere is incredible, the service is excellent and food is remarkable. It's an experience you don't want to miss."

  • "We booked Valentine dinner, appears they put in extra tables for evening ...very tight squeeze to get in/out of chairs. We heard every conversation going on, even though they were speaking low.The first two courses were exceptional, however, my desert left much to be desired. I ordered the Key Lime pie ...not only did it not taste like a KLP should, it's consistancy was more like a custard pie - put aside after two bites! The wine we picked was fantastic, but at first my wife was very upset when they broke the cork off in the bottle. Fortunately they saved the wine, by pouring through a strainer into a decanter. The best part of the evening was the service, they definitely made us feel like we were the only patrons in the restaurant."

  • "If you had doubt about the food you were quickly won over by the awesome appetizers. Next up the delicious entrees with great flavors that sets this restaurant apart. You know those flavors that if you had to select your best meal what would it be and what restaurant would you select to prepare it. Well look no further it's called The Old Warsaw. Now I see why older adults visit so often "its a winner." Planning our next visit."

  • "The past few times we've been there it was a different experience because of the menu offered and the multiple courses. When we went this time there was a Valentine's Day menu only, it was very disappointing however the food was still good."

  • "Me, my wife and my sister in-law went to this place. At first we thought it might be Polish (given that Warsaw is the capital of Poland) but turned out to be French... not sure about why it would use the Warsaw name then... anyways... the place was very nice, with a classic european decoration (for what I could tell... never been to europe tough). We all had steak (Fliet Mignon and NY Strip) and it was perfect. As sides we ordered creamed spinach, au gratin potatoes and the roasted wild mushrooms. The sides were quite small, definitely not for sharing. But all of them were great. For dessert we had key lime pie and the creme broulee and both were flawless. May have been a little pricy, but would go again for a special occasion."

  • "I was a little hesitant after reading the reviews online but after dining at the restaurant I realized some of the reviews were correct. The decor maybe considered dated by some, but that this part of the charm of this place. If you love old Dallas and dining at a historical landmark with a great old school menu and great food, charm and ambiance from days gone by, then this is the place. If you want new, contemporary and trendy, go somewhere else. We loved it."

  • "I had always wanted to eat at the Old Warsaw and for our 40th Valentines anniversary I suggested (i.e. made reservations) here. I won't go back, it did not meet my expectations...... The food was good, they didn't have the wine I requested...... But the deal breaker was a total lack of attention to my wife's gluten free diet restrictions. They acted like they didn't care, even though we asked for the manager. He didn't care either. And it showed in the total lack of attention they all applied. We could have had the Bananas Foster, but they were too busy to check on the possibility... So I would say, take your business elsewhere. They living on the past...."

  • "The lighting was perfect for a perfect night. The staff took care of our every need and did not hesitate. As the food arrived at the table, high expectations circulated my wondering taste buds and what I experienced was just that. The filet was cooked to my liking, presentation was on point, the taste was bliss."

  • "The Old Warsaw is the best 'Old School' restaurant in Dallas. The steak was one of the best I have had in a while - better than Del Friscos - you could cut it with your fork! The absolute best though is the live music - piano and violist. They come around and play at your table - it is just great! The entire experience is over the top fun - a must do for anyone looking to step back in time and eat some really great food!"

  • "I have dined here on several occasions and have never been disappointed. The ambience is second to none. Old Warsaw has become one of my favorite dining venues. I came on a Sunday evening and am always pleasantly surprised by the wide array of musical selections performed by the pianist and violinist. Bon appetit indeed !"
