  • "I didn't rate the meal excellent since we didn't have one of their entrees (just had salads for dinner) but they were very good. We love the outdoor seating, which is why we always choose to eat here. It's noisy at times but we don't mind that at all. We were there fairly early and it seemed the wait staff was a little disorganized for some reason. Typically the service is excellent."

  • "Best restaurant in West End and one of the best in the city. Their outdoor patio is fantastic with the brick walls and mature trees. The food is very good. Great selection of cocktails, and a decent wine and beer selection. Their menu does change seasonally which makes it hard for me to recommend a dish. The shrimp and grits are pretty good and normally always on the menu. The ribeye and filet are good. Note, this is not Ruth's Chris when it comes to steak but still very good. They have plenty of other dishes from pastas, chicken and seafood. The lunch menu is different from the dinner menu. Lunch is mainly sandwiches and you don't need a reservation for lunch. Dinner however, I highly recommend you use Open Table."

  • "It may have been due to the weather but there was practically no one at 4th Street which we have never seen before. Because of that we were able to get a table right next to the fireplace. The service was great and so was the food! Because the restaurant was so empty it was not very loud which was really nice!"

  • "We really like the place and the food was very good, service once we were finally seated was very good. Our issue was, we had a 7:15 reservation, but had to wait about 20 minutes for a table. That doesn't seem like a reservation to me. One of the wait staff said this weekend was always busy because of parents weekend at Wake Forest. If that is the case then someone should have told us from the beginning, you are on the list but you still may have a wait. Have to wait for 20 minutes in a very crowded spot made me feel like we didn't have a reservation at all."

  • "We love this restaurant, but had a bad experience last week. When we arrived five minutes before our reservation time, we were added to "the list." I found that strange since we had made a reservation. There were about five people ahead of us for a table at that point. So much for the reservation? About 15 minutes past our reservation time, we were informed that they had run out of the special for the night which most people were waiting for. We decided to go elsewhere, 20 minutes past our reservation time. When we left, there were still multiple tables on 'the list' ahead of us. I suspect we would have been seated about 45 minutes late. That aside, we love this place and will return. The food is great, and service is usually fantastic."

  • "Had a great meal on Tuesday night, and our server was fantastic. I mean really great. But I was pretty disappointed with how our reservation was handled. I know it was a bit of a special event night, and I know the restaurant was trying to accommodate as many walk-ups as possible, but I've never had the experience in this town of having to wait 25 minutes past the reservation time to be seated. Even on a busy night, most restaurants have a reserved table truly reserved without the chaos I saw at this place on Tuesday night. With so many outstanding dining options in Winston-Salem, we will definitely think twice about returning to this restaurant."

Got there, table was ready, we sat near the fireplace...very cozy. Ordered their Calimarie...delicious...my Dirty Martini was perfect..my husband ordered the Filet Neapolitan..perfectly cooked and delicious...Enjoyed this nice spot a few blocks from main downtown.."

  • "My boyfriend and I went here after a Wake Forest football game. The place was crowded with parents in town taking out their college kids so I'd definitely recommend a reservation. There were also two large parties of 20+ people so I'd also recommend it for large parties. We shared the crab dip appetizer, shrimp & grits (best thing on the menu!!!) and mahi mahi. Everything tasted very good. We were well attended by the bartender while waiting for our table and by the server once seated. We were sat outside which I expected to be cool as it's November but the enclosed outdoor space is well heated and creates an interesting atmosphere. Overall, I would definitely like to return for more shrimp & grits the next time I'm in Winston-Salem."

  • "We made reservations through open table and they had no clue. We had to give our name to a very unpleasant Host. The Host did not greet us. He seemed very stressed from the busy nature of the restaurant. Once we were seated it took 15 min for someone to take our order. Our food took 30 min to arrive to our table for a party of three. I asked for salad dressing and the first server never brought it. I asked a second server and he brought it immediately. The overall service was not what I expected based on the reviews I read prior. This was my first time to this restaurant and we were celebrating a birthday. It may be better to eat here during lunch instead of a busy Friday night where there's not enough staff to accomadate the guests."
