The quality and creativity of cooking have never lapsed and it has maintained its character. It is now a classic, but with the energy of a new up and coming dining spot."

Brought us several wine bottles, opening each to have us taste... not seen many places. I've enjoyed coming to Odeon for nearly 20 years and its been a couple since i was hear last. Was very happy to get re-acquainted with this old tried and true gem. They will be seeing more of us for sure. I thank Open Table for reminding me of this place. I was searching for a place in TriBeCa and it came up on the list of available restaurants. I probably would have overlooked it otherwise. It was like seeing an old friend that you haven't seen in a while."

The food was adequate to good and the service was very good. I know this is New York, but they do pack you in tight at this place and as a result, the noise level can get a bit too much at times."

We hadn't been in years and after eating outstanding food and experiencing outstanding service, we put it back on our list of go-to restaurants again. The vegetarian cassoulet was delicious as was the frisee salad and perfectly ripe and sweet mixed berry dessert. It's such a great, authentic bistro. We'll be back!"

  • "We loved the look of the restaurant. Great windows and beautiful wood and lighting. The food was average. It wasn't bad but it wasn't great either. I had the steak which was ok and the profiteroles which were great. My dining partner had the roast chicken which he thought was good. He also had chocolate and coconut ice cream both of which were very good. The staff was friendly and attentive. There was nothing bad about the meal; it just wasn't memorable."

  • "My friend invited me for brunch here and I was very pleasantly surprised. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was vibrant but not noisy. It had a fun neighborhood feel, did not feel like a tourist spot, which I really liked. My friend had the steak tartare and I ordered the tuna burger. Both were superb."

  • "I've been here a few times and eaten at the bar, which is always exceptional. This time was romantic date night, and the place really delivered. Service was incredibly attentive without being obtrusive at all, the way I love it. The food was executed well, super solid with some moments of really good. Price to value is excellent. Only small catch: we had really early reservations because tables were "unavailable" from 6:30 to 9:30, but a lot of empty tables when we got there. Hostess tried to give us the first table by the door, but was very receptive when we asked for something better (many other choices, so no huge effort required to accommodate us, but thumbs up anyway)."

  • "I often eat at the Odeon, whether at the bar or at a table. The food is always excellent, some favorites are the French onion soup, brook trout, their pasta dishesf. For dessert, I ask for the warm donuts with maple syrup to take home. I just had my daughter's 11th birthday dinner there with friends. We made a special request for a nice table, with an ice cream with a candle as a surprise at the end of the meal. The round table by the window was perfect. And service warm and impeccable. I'm glad tribeca has the Odeon!"

  • "This was my second visit to The Odeon. The first time we were given a table jammed up against a pillar, the second time, we were given a table right next to the kitchen door and close to the waiters' prep area. It was like having a picnic next to the Long Island Expressway. We asked if another table was available and were shown one jammed into a column. Having had that experience, we stayed with the restaurant's first choice. Bizarrely, there were other open tables in the restuarant but, apparently, they weren't available. The food is good and the ambiance should be great, but seating customers at poor tables is not a smart way to get repeat business. They won't be getting mine."

This visit was a busy night and although we showed up at 8 pm for the 9 pm open table res (it was all they had, but we were told we could come early and get the next table) we were ignored until 9:03. A full hour! I still love this place. Where else can you get an egg omelette and delicious glass of wine at a trendy place at night?"

  • "One doesn't go to The Odeon expecting creativity, but for solid bistro fare, it always delivers competent food. The biggest disappointment is that it is veering from classic country French food to whatever is trendy--thus, gilled octopus with potatoes and paprika, when one really should be able to get a good country pate or rillettes, sadly missing from the menu. Why not Iles Flottante or a soufflé instead of "everybody does them" doughnuts and bread pudding? The French standards still please (hanger steak, salmon with lentils), but it would be lovely to see more French, less international, style."
