A word from The Odeon
This classic French American Bistro has been a landmark in Tribeca since 1980. Friendly service with great food!

The food was excellent and the
service was friendly --we will definitely be back :)"

Great service. Not noisy so you
can talk and hear other people besides those who seats near you. Food was good. Atmosphere friendly. "

We were looking for a comfortable
yet lively spot where we could get a quick reservation for 5 people, an odd number. The Odeon was a reliable though interesting choice."
Dined on 4/13/2014
I remember when the Odeon was a
gem in a largely empty neighborhood. The area has filled in since then and many other restaurants are now available. But the Odeon remains the best. The quality and creativity of cooking have never lapsed and it has maintained its character. It is now a classic, but with the energy of a new up and coming dining spot."
Dined on 4/9/2014
Great spot, great food, great
service, what more can one diner ask for?"
Dined on 4/3/2014
Odeon used to have great bistro
food...maybe about 10 years ago. Now it's all frozen and lousy quality food product. Probably catering to the tastes of neighborhood mommies and daddies who show with their kids on weekend afternoons. Had really lost it's cool unfortunately,"
Dined on 9/6/2013
Odeon was once excellent, then
declined some, and now it is better again. One dish however was not well done, the skirt (or flank?) steak. Great salmon tartar appetizer though, and good scallops."
Dined on 3/28/2014
Had a great dinner with friends.
Sat outside and the service was great. Very attentive staff was helpful in every way. Brought us several wine bottles, opening each to have us taste... not seen many places. I've enjoyed coming to Odeon for nearly 20 years and its been a couple since i was hear last. Was very happy to get re-acquainted with this old tried and true gem. They will be seeing more of us for sure. I thank Open Table for reminding me of this place. I was searching for a place in TriBeCa and it came up on the list of available restaurants. I probably would have overlooked it otherwise. It was like seeing an old friend that you haven't seen in a while."

I have been brunching and lunching
at The Odeon for over two decades and I am pleased to report it has maintained a high level of quality."
Dined on 3/26/2014
The Odeon was very
enjoyable....our waiter was very attentive and helpful and the food was terrific."
Dined on 3/15/2014
Wonderful restaurant - food was
delicious and portions were nice. Our server, Brandon, was terrific. He was so friendly and knowledgeable. We will recommend it to our Memphis friends, for sure!"
Dined on 3/8/2014
We had a 7:30 reservation and the
place was fairly busy when we arrived. We were seated quickly even though we were early for our reservation. The food was adequate to good and the service was very good. I know this is New York, but they do pack you in tight at this place and as a result, the noise level can get a bit too much at times."
Dined on 3/11/2014
My fiancée and I dined here late
one evening as we often do after a long day at work : odeon is a reliable luxury. Staff are great, grown-up crowd. Lovely, as always."
Dined on 3/10/2014
Been going to the Odeon for 30
years plus, and while the price now reflect the new TriBeCa, it's still a great neighborhood value. Food and service are reliably very good; my roast chicken was excellent. My family loves the tuna burger, which puts other similR and local offerings to shame. One of the favorites."
Dined on 3/6/2014
The mac 'n cheese and chocolate
pudding are out of this world. Excellent wine by the glass, fun, relaxed, excellent service. Will definitely be back!!"
Dined on 3/5/2014
A friend and I met for lunch at
The Odeon the other day. We hadn't been in years and after eating outstanding food and experiencing outstanding service, we put it back on our list of go-to restaurants again. The vegetarian cassoulet was delicious as was the frisee salad and perfectly ripe and sweet mixed berry dessert. It's such a great, authentic bistro. We'll be back!"

In New York's fast and changing
restaurant scene, The Odeon remains a strong presence with great service, good food and fun atmosphere. Bravo for staying around and maintaining quality!"
Dined on 2/26/2014
The food was ok, but nothing
more. The calamari tasted ok but was to soft. The poched egg was cooked perfectly but tasted vineager. The mini beignets was prefabricated and to hard fried."
Dined on 2/8/2014
This is my go to place for lunch
in the neighborhood and I am never disappointed. The burger is great!"
Dined on 2/25/2014
We loved the look of the
restaurant. Great windows and beautiful wood and lighting. The food was average. It wasn't bad but it wasn't great either. I had the steak which was ok and the profiteroles which were great. My dining partner had the roast chicken which he thought was good. He also had chocolate and coconut ice cream both of which were very good. The staff was friendly and attentive. There was nothing bad about the meal; it just wasn't memorable."
Dined on 2/22/2014
I really like this restaurant. The
old French vibe is great and their French onion soup is killer. There burgers are great, while huge as well."
Dined on 2/18/2014
Great steak tartare and very good
service. This place earns it credits. I've been coming here for quite some years and has never been disappointed. You can't go wrong."
Dined on 2/5/2014
I went there with my girlfriend
for valentines day. Great food great service"
Dined on 2/17/2014
My friend invited me for brunch
here and I was very pleasantly surprised. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was vibrant but not noisy. It had a fun neighborhood feel, did not feel like a tourist spot, which I really liked. My friend had the steak tartare and I ordered the tuna burger. Both were superb."
Dined on 2/15/2014
Staff was super friendly. Food
came out very fast. We were wasted and had a blast."
Dined on 2/14/2014
I've been here a few times and
eaten at the bar, which is always exceptional. This time was romantic date night, and the place really delivered. Service was incredibly attentive without being obtrusive at all, the way I love it. The food was executed well, super solid with some moments of really good. Price to value is excellent. Only small catch: we had really early reservations because tables were "unavailable" from 6:30 to 9:30, but a lot of empty tables when we got there. Hostess tried to give us the first table by the door, but was very receptive when we asked for something better (many other choices, so no huge effort required to accommodate us, but thumbs up anyway)."
Dined on 2/14/2014
I often eat at the Odeon, whether
at the bar or at a table. The food is always excellent, some favorites are the French onion soup, brook trout, their pasta dishesf. For dessert, I ask for the warm donuts with maple syrup to take home. I just had my daughter's 11th birthday dinner there with friends. We made a special request for a nice table, with an ice cream with a candle as a surprise at the end of the meal. The round table by the window was perfect. And service warm and impeccable. I'm glad tribeca has the Odeon!"
Dined on 2/7/2014
Excellent service and food - the
waiter made us feel so welcomed! The food was great - not a huge menu, but nice selections and very accommodating with alternate choices for the side items. The desserts are awesome too!"
Dined on 1/29/2014
Great place for a nice meal with
friends, the menu is excellent, all the food was served timely and the waitress was very pleasant. The Hangar steak is amazing, as is the garganzelle pasta. Thumbs up."
Dined on 2/5/2014
Service was not good at all, took
forever to take our order and little things like getting water re-fill took more than it should. Food was ok at best, nothing to write home about and a bit pricey for the quality and quantity. Would recommend but with various caveats. Improving service is crucial."
Dined on 1/27/2014
Ever great - thank goodness The
Odeon is still there!"
Dined on 1/25/2014
Have been going to The Odeon since
it opened and TriBeCa was Very spaecely populated. The food has always been good and the place fun. In fact it still is, and has yet to disapoint us."
Dined on 1/22/2014
We met friends for brunch on a
Sunday in NY and it was great. The staff are very attentive and, despite the overflow crowd, we never felt alone. The food was good and it was really hopping which, I guess, shows that we're not alone in our thoughts about the Odeon. Better make reservations!"
Dined on 1/12/2014
Service was exceptional -
attentive, discreet and helpful. The food was delicious- I recommend the tuna burger. And the dessert was THE BEST! Try their house-made ice cream."
Dined on 1/23/2014
This was my second visit to The
Odeon. The first time we were given a table jammed up against a pillar, the second time, we were given a table right next to the kitchen door and close to the waiters' prep area. It was like having a picnic next to the Long Island Expressway. We asked if another table was available and were shown one jammed into a column. Having had that experience, we stayed with the restaurant's first choice. Bizarrely, there were other open tables in the restuarant but, apparently, they weren't available. The food is good and the ambiance should be great, but seating customers at poor tables is not a smart way to get repeat business. They won't be getting mine."
Dined on 1/15/2014
The dark, candlelit room feels
very romantic and the salmon I had was amazing! It was cooked perfectly and the sides that came with it were also very flavorful. My friend had the trout, but we both agreed the salmon dish was better.."
Dined on 1/13/2014
I went to Odeon because of a great
hamburger review. I was very disappointed with the soggy patty with little taste"
Dined on 1/12/2014
I visited for brunch to check in
on an old favorite, Not what it once was"
Dined on 10/13/2013
I am a big fan of the Odeon, and
have come during different shifts. This visit was a busy night and although we showed up at 8 pm for the 9 pm open table res (it was all they had, but we were told we could come early and get the next table) we were ignored until 9:03. A full hour! I still love this place. Where else can you get an egg omelette and delicious glass of wine at a trendy place at night?"
