The Observatory at Grouse MountainMountain top experienceTo be honest we went for the view. You ride the Grouse Mountain tram to the top _ $39/person. but if you reserve ad each person orders at least an entree - the ride is free,
We went on a Sunday night - totally foggy all the way up and all through dinner - no view.
But the food was outstanding.- I had scallops and my wife smoked chicken after a parma ham appetizer. All very creative. They also served another little complementary appetizer and small chocolate cups after dinner.
And the fog cleared for our ride down.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMLovely food & viewA special occasion spot. On our most recent visit, the weather and vistas didn't disappoint.
Unfortunately, our waiter was inexperienced; we sat for more than 20 minutes before greeted, offered water or other beverages. Friendly but not up to the task. One of our party requested the 5-course tasting/wine pairings menu, but was told it's only available if all at the table has it as well. We weren't as hungry, so the appealing tasting menu went ... untasted.
The food was delicious, the amuse bouches that arrived with warm bread and melt-in-your-mouth compound butter. Portions were smaller, as one would predict with 'fine dining', but satisfying.
The included skyride up & down the mountain added to the sense of occasion. We will be back.5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMThe perfect end to a wonderful tripWe took my mom and sister to this restaurant on the day before they left Vancouver, it was the perfect way to end a trip. I don't know why everyone who visits Grouse Mountain doesn't dine at the restaurant because it costs $40 to make the journey up and all the entrees are $40 so it's basically like getting up the mountain and getting a free meal too!We knew the views were going to be spectacular but had read mixed reviews about the food so we were pleasantly surprised that it was absolutely amazing! The complimentary warm bread was a nice touch, along with a spoonful of ceviche and mini sorbet cones at the end of the meal. Service was fantastic and the view was beautiful. Only downside was a noisy group that distracted from the ambience.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMOutstanding/ great exprienceThe scenic view of Vancouver on a sunny day made our dining experience so much better. The chef made the delicious meals plated like an artist. It made our guests feel so special to dine in such beatiful city. Thank you. (Food is a bit pricing but the godola was included; it turns out okay, it definitely for special occasion)5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had a wonderful time withanWe had a wonderful time withan exceptional waiter!1/4/2013 12:00:00 AM
