    Amazing

The service and view was second to none. The staff was amazing, always there ready for what ever we needed. I have a sever nut allergy and the server made sure that we didn't order anything that we shouldn't. My girlfriend and I were our last date of her visit and we were blown away by everything. I had mentioned that it was also her birthday and the desert arrived it was server on a beautiful large slate plate with happy birthday written in chocolate. The whole experience was amazing and will be doing it again.

Myself and my out of town visitors were thoroughly pleased with their dining experience at the top of Grouse Mountain. Two from our party of four had never experienced a gondola ride previously so that definitely was an added bonus to a great afternoon/evening on a very picturesque evening. The service was excellent, our meals were prepared to perfection and I would definitly highly recommend this restaurant to all! Thank you!

I have to be honest the food was good but not phenomenal. Everything is reasonably priced. For everything we had, we liked the crab cake appetizer the most. Our waiter was very helpful and has extensive knowledge on the drink list. We came right before sunset and it was absolutely amazing! We enjoyed our overall dinning experience a lot. Considering the lift tickets were waived, it is definitely worth it to come to the Observatory for the dining experience and enjoy the sceneries. Recommend to come early for hiking, watching a lumberjack show, hanging out with the grizzly bears and to have dinner before sunset.

First of all we had reservations the week before our visit. When I called to change the time, the lady on the phone told me she had no such reservation!!! We made another reservation for the following week and I asked for a view table because I was bringing out-of-town clients. Table was not in good view location, almost by the entrance door. Choice of appetizers was very poor and boring. The duck we ordered was almost invisible. Desert was ok and I loved the warm bread and butter. Would I return? Not likely.

Excellent tasting food but horribly tiny portions. Crab appetizer? We literally couldn't find any crab. Duck entree? Had 2 small strips of duck, tasty but not worth $37, even with the view. Plus they would not give us any bread till our order was taken - felt like prison. I was here 30 yrs ago and the experience was excellent. Today I would never recommend this place. Certainly not for the price. Supposedly classy place, terrible time. I was here

We were lucky to get a table right by the window. (It is probably easier if you are of a party of 2.) The view was breath-taking and something we'll remember for. Service was excellent. I came mostly for the view and didn't expect a lot from the food. The food turned out surprisingly good. Every dish was very thoughtful and elegantly presented. They tasted good too! Portion might be on the small end, but we were both full. We both had a good time. Price is on the high end. The free gondola ride and the breath-taking view made it worth it. Gondola ride is free with advanced reservation. We came about an hour earlier to explore the mountain before our dinner.

the same night as us… however we were married up there near the Helicopter landing pad, and we had a lot of great memories as we walked around the mountain top. As well we visited the Grizzly Bears playing in the pond and wrestling around, and watched the funny lumberjack show, and the free movies in 'Theater in the Sky' and having had reservations through Open Table, also meant we could go to Guest Services and get free tickets up the Gondola. … and by the way, the food, service and environment in the Observatory was just as good this time as when we had a whole Wedding group of us enjoying this excellent Restaurant and Great Chefs, servers etc. !!!

We got married on Grouse Mountain so we came here for our first anniversary. It is a very romantic spot and We would recommend this for the ambiance and breathtaking view. It's also great that the gondola ride is part of your reservation. However, we were a bit disappointed with the food. We had the albacore tuna as a starter and were both very disappointed with it. The tuna was not prepared properly and didn't taste very good. For our main dishes we had the beef tenderloin and the halibut, which both had some great flavours but everything was way over salted. We probably wouldn't go back but would recommend it to our friends if they were looking for a unique and romantic spot.

Perfect night , perfect place, perfect food. A cloudless night with a giant full moon over Vancouver. The sunset was nothing less than spectacular. One goes to an 'observatory' for the view. Without a view, a romantic anniversary dinner becomes a lame duck night. The restaurant does say they can't guarantee a window table, but the inner tables aren't even on a dias giving you no view at all - only sky. The food: the crab and salad appetizers were good (the crab was tiny!!) and the salmon and beef tenderloin were excellent with diverse and succulent flavours! The dessert we shared (chocolate cherry dish) was tasty as well. No wine kept the bill affordable. I will not go back - no view at "The Observatory" is unforgiveable! I have been advising my friends and colleagues not to go as well and I am particularly upset that there wasn't even an apology from the staff.

We came up with our daughter and two relatives from Norway who had come to Canada to help us celebrate our 50th Wedding Anniversary. My husband asked me to marry him on Grouse Mountain in November 1963. We asked for a table by a window so our relatives could enjoy the beauty of Vancouver and we had a great view as well the wait staff were great. Thank you so much

This is a go-to restaurant for us when we have family visiting from afar. Make sure to book for a date when the weather cooperates - the view is phenomenal. The trip up in the gondola sets the tone for a memorable dinner. The hostess wasn't particularly friendly or clued-in, but the service inside was spot-on - very attentive and friendly without being obtrusive. The food was imaginative and beautifully plated. The prices are a bit high, but when you factor in the free gondola ride and access to Grouse Mtn, the overall bill is very reasonable. We didn't have a front-window table, which was a bit disappointing, but the view was still quite nice from our table.

If planning to see the view from Grouse Mountain, we would definitely recommend booking a dinner reservation, which includes the tram ride; it more than pays the $44.00 per person fee to ride the tram, and was a very nice experience. The chef is definitely gifted in presentation; all of our courses, salad, entrée and dessert, were picture-perfect. The Halibut entrée was perfectly cooked, and served in a unique way. My spouse ordered a filet of beef, which was not available, and the short rib meal substitution was generous but not equal to a filet. That said, you can't beat the ambiance of sunset high above the beautiful city of Vancouver. We will definitely return, and recommend it to others. Our server had many good recommendations for us.

Although I appreciate the restaurant taking care of my flower delivery to the table, we waited 45 minutes to get a table at the window, which then didn't matter because it was all clouds outside (not your fault). Beef tenderloin was sold out so substituted Short ribs (no idea how either come close to each other). Food was overall not impressive as it was either lacking taste or flavors didn't go well together. We regularly dine out fine dining and this does not come close in food and service. If you can get up there on a clear day, go for it but don't expect much in refined dining.

This place has it all. Stunning views of Vancouver, world class food, slick service. Food wise, in our experience the starters pack more flavour than the main courses. The chicken terrine was especially superb. Only one let down - the ice cream should be smoother but that really is being picky. Very reasonable prices considering the quality.

I was looking for a unique experience to give to my daughter and husband. Beautiful view - we got a window seat. The food was excellent - beautiful presentation & wonderful taste. The server offered some options for my daughter, who is 10 years old. She ended up ordering from the adult menu but it was nice to have a couple of options for kids when going out. Great team work from staff - it seemed like everyone was providing service to all tables. Taking the tram added to the experience. Great night.

I had venison for appetizer, the duck dish for main entree, and the goat cheese cheese cake for desert. The appetizer and the entree were good but they lacked more flavor. The duck medallions were too salty and for come reason they were cold unlike the rest of the plate. Goat cheese cheese cake was probably the best out of the three. I would not recommend this place if you are expecting an upscale fine dining experience. The best thing about it is definitely the view you get.

This was a great spot for celebrating a memorable birthday. Be sure to reserve ahead of time so you don't have to pay for the gondola. We went a bit early so we could walk around a bit and see the bird show. That was impressive too. The view is beautiful and I was surprised that our food was so good. Often I find places with really nice views don't put the same effort into their food but at the Observatory everything was beautifully presented and tasted delicious.

We had a splendid view over the skyline of downtown Vancouver and enjoyed the beautifully arranged courses. The use of local products and fancy ideas such as sprinkling volcanic ashes over a dish delighted us. The prices are more than justified for the good service and the quality of the food. We would certainly recommend this location to anyone who would like to celebrate a special day.
