We had a variety of diferent foods including the Salmon and the broiled haddock, both were excellent. My all time favorite was the warm spinich salad which was outstanding. The resturant was cozy and relaxed with excellent service. I am looking forward to going back again!

We had a wonderful waitress and a nice table on the second floor of this historic building in Portsmouth. We were seated promptly and greeted by our waitress who took our drink order and delivered promptly. Our table had a nice view of the river through the window.
We were given both a brunch and dinner menu which gave us the option of ordering from both. Three of us selected variations of eggs benedict- traditional, lobster, and surf and turf varieties. All three dished were delivered with overcooked eggs and rock hard english muffins that were obviously left sitting in the kitchen rather than made to order- all three were disappointing. My 9 year old grandson ordered a cheeseburger cooked medium and it arrived well done. Disappointing!

Very good seafood selection, interesting salads, herbed scones in the breadbasket. Our waiter, John, was excellent. We were here in the early spring, but there is deck dining for which we will definitely return in the warmer months.

We are planning an event and wanted to check out the restaurant and food prior to the event. Our waitress was very helpful with providing us the information we needed for the event. The food was good and the portion sizes were generous. The atmosphere is quaint and will be perfect for our event.

No one to greet us upon entering then large groups of people came in, hostess overwhelmed an we were last to be seated. wine list poor, waiter unfamiliar with list and broke Cork off in bottle. Waiter bubbly but in attentive, could be overwhelming. Was looking for a quiet evening but had large and apparently hard of hearing party seated next to us. After 45 minutes of frustration, left to dine else ware, took our mediocre bottle of wine with us.

The room is beautiful, and the bartender friendly. But our food was just barely warm when we got it after a fairly long wait. The filet and the haddock were surprisingly sweet to the taste. John, our waiter, was overly familiar with everyone at the table and made a clown-like show every time he appeared. The best part of the meal was the creme brulee, I guess because it, too, was sweet.
