A true dining experience, service was impeccable, staff was attentive beyond expectations. The dessert was indescribable! I liked the fact that you can make the reservations on-line, with confirmation and "thank-you." Also received a thank-you e-mail for coming; they really add a special touch on the customer-service end. A bit pricey, but worth it, as I am sure, each item was prepared exclusively for each diner.

My wife and I were celebrating our first anniversary out east and been looking forward to trying the North Fork Table. We are so happy we did! When we were greeted they asked if we dined with them before but we had not, we mentioned we were celebrating out first anniversary they responded by giving us a glass of champagne (great touch). We were there on Sunday and they offered a tasting menu with wine pairing if you chose, which we did. The food was wonderful and wine wines complemented each dish very well. We cannot wait to go back.

Outstanding doesn't do justice in describing this north shore Long Island restaurant . Using local fare the meals are prepared with care and style. Choices exist between the three course or five course tasting meal. On a recent trip we sampled both the cold corn soup and beet salad with local farm produced goat cheeses. Both splendid. Main courses all excellent. On the way out don't forget to order the warm oatmeal raisin cookies to go.

We had an excellent dinner here the other night. We did the prix fixe dinner and each course was delicious. We went with the striped bass and the swordfish and we were both very happy with our meals from start to finish. Desserts were also excellent. Service was top notch and the local wines served were all good.

From the review expected a great meal. But the terrible service and tasteless main course made for an extremely disappointing experience. Appetizers served even before we got our cocktails. Had to beg for bread and water throughout the meal. Main dishes had no flavor. As if the chef forgot about seasoning completely. The apps and desserts were great but not good enough to offset the other issues. And at the prices for the priced fixed, should have been so much better.

We go to North Fork Table and Inn at least once each Summer and it remains a wonderful dining experience. The only disappointment is if you stay overnight. The rooms are a bit bare and have an early 60's feel to them, especially the bathrooms (linoleum floor and prefab shower). But, excellent buffet breakfast.

The food was good but not anything special. The prices were high and the service good. The place is not anything special either. I was disappointed in that the meal was not as good as what we normally eat at home. This would normally be a two star rating but we do eat rather well at home. We did order two very good wines for the 4 of us and at $65/bottle (plus tax and tip) which was a fair price. This was my only experience at this restaurant and it could have been an off night. Still, I have no desire to go back.

The 1st time was excellent in 2012, the 2nd time was very disappointing. We went with the tasting menu and it was barely that, a taste. The portions were miniscule. I had a cold corn soup with crab that was maybe 2 tablespoon's full. The 2 veal medallions were "quarter" sized with a smear of polenta, and I mean a smear. The sea bass was tasteless, and again a bite size portion. The presentations were nicely done but I would not recommend going there if you are hungry. If you are anorexic or on a diet, then it is probably the place for you. The service was fine, but for what we spent, I felt totally ripped off. We won't be back!

7:30 reservation on a Thursday evening....4 of us had to wait at the bar for 20 minutes as our table was not available. The bartender drops drink menus in front us, walks away and does not return to acknowledge us for 15 minutes. He was too busy to serve us until our table was nearly ready ! The hostess/owner is oblivious to the fire drill happening at the bar. So, not only is the table far from ready, but we sit at the bar in limbo. The wine I ordered with our appetizers was not chilled, why would they not have the white wine already chilled ? .... so we had to wait for it to be brought to temp. Wrong way start to a $500 dinner ! Yes, the food is always good but the house service is just not there when they have a full house

Overpriced, small portions, OK but not stellar food, a very loud room. We have dined here once a year during our North Fork vacation since this restaurant opened, and have been increasingly disappointed in the last 2-3 years. The only stellar part of the meal is dessert. Otherwise, we are always seated at the same table right over a freezing air conditioning vent in a room that becomes so loud when full that we cannot converse with people at our own table without yelling. The appetizers are good, but entrees are only OK. Frankly, we have eaten better main courses at other restaurants in Greenport (The Frisky Oyster, Noah's) that are far more reasonably priced. I expect better when paying $350 for dinner. NoFoTI is not what it used to be.

I ate at the bar twice and found the experience enjoyable and relaxing. The staff was very helpful in my choice of dishes and local wines. The foie gras and the beet salad as well as my duck entree were all delicious. I was very impressed with the restaurant that I treated my daughter and son-in-law to a special dinner during our stay in Southold. I also stayed 2 nights at the inn and found it very pleasant and comfortable. I would highly recommend the inn and the restaurant to anyone visiting Southold or any adjoining places in Long Island!

Really? You are charging me for a taste of wine you offered when I was dickering betw two? For the prices you charge and the airs your servers put on, I guess I shouldn't have been surprised, but honestly - this is Southold Long Island at the end of summer, not the upper east side. This was our 3rd visit to NFT&I and I think we are done. 2 years ago you guys were special, different; now you've become like someone's fusty old aunt insisting on too many forks and outdated modes of behavior. Your food truck in the parking lot has the spirit and generosity I remember loving on my first visit; the restaurant, not so much. The food was good, but not extraordinary; precious rather than inventive; cool rather than embracing.

Four people who'd waited a while to try the food here. Initial service promising. Then waitress served an alcoholic drink to someone who'd been sober 27 years! She hadn't paid attention to what was ordered. Apps were decent, good beet salad with local goat cheese, great corn and crab soup, but fluke crudo was tasteless. Entrees were all around average. A big eye tuna listed as 'seared, served raw" was cooked to death and when returned, replaced with an ugly, fatty barely seared hunk that tasted awful and was duly exchanged for the big eye tuna tartare app which was actually good. Veggie lasagna was tasty, duck was blah and overcooked. Dessert was ok, doughnuts a standout, but coffee served was burnt.

We are more than willing to pay for the already heady price for prux fixe menu. But it is unconsciable to charge a $ $30 supplement for a portion of corn risotto ! And almost all of the items have supplemental charges. Not at all worth the cost. The food is wonderful and the servers are terrific but one feels abused by the pricing. Sadly, will not return and I'd be embarrassed to bring my friends. This is definitely NOT Gotham Bar and Grill quality food for the pricing. Please re-think your pricing or change your menu to something much more spectacular and fresh.

As with previous meals there the food was very good. However, the steak for two was not. It was quite tough and had almost no taste. At age 73 I have eaten many steaks at all price levels and this one was one of the poorer. The other person who had this steak agreed as did a third person at the table who sampled it. We complained to the manager. He said they had had no previous complaints about this dish, took it in to the chef and then told us that the chef without tasting it thought it was fine. The steak had an additional price of $30 per person on top of the fixed price menu. Nothing was taken off of this bill which we felt was wrong.

We go there for all special days in our life. Our anniversary, birthdays, especially. We are always treated as special and that is not because we know Mary and Mike Mraz, because on 8/11/2014 we were there for our 30th anniversary and no one we knew was there and the treatment we got was the same - simply the best. Caryll's duck was perfect and my tuna was also. We have never left there hungry, and always feel pampered, but not treated any differently than anyone else. Thank you.

Second time here, first time this year. Went with the Chef's Tasting Menu, as every item on it looked amazing. The food is well prepared, seasonal, interesting without crossing into exotic territories. All the courses were excellent, perhaps with one exception. I was a little disappointed with the lobster course - it was poached lobster in a broth with wild mushrooms and Asian-inspired seasonings. It was bland - they probably should have fully embraced the Asian flavors. But really, really loved the other courses. And even slightly bland lobster is still pretty good! I would definitely recommend to anyone staying on the North Fork as it's truly the best restaurant out there.

Was very impressed with the quiet but elegant ambiance. Called ahead of time to explain my food allergies. Our server was aware of that when we arrived. Excellent. She directed me to items that would be safe for me - great. But then, she came back and told me that what we had chosen would not work and I had to re-order, and some items would be removed from my dish to accomodate my allergies. In most restaurants if they remove an item they replace it with another. In this case things were simply removed leaving me with not much to eat. The food I ate was very good. My son loved his meal! the desserts were fabulous. Not too rich , tasty and beautifully presented. In fact, presentation was awesome on all dishes!

food was good and flavorful , at least what was put on your plate. portions are very tiny. Fish with Risotto turned out to be a wedge of fish with a teaspoon amount of risotto. I asked my girlfriend, How was the Risotto? She replied, "I don't know. I am not sure I ate any. I really don't know". for the high prices, more so than any other in the Southold, Greenport area, I would not recommend it unless you like eating dinner, paying a high price, and then leave and go to another restaurant because you are still hungry. but the dessert was presented beautifully, and was delicious. We had more desert than our actual main course.

I would recommend this place to anyone on the North Fork, and it's not that far of a drive from the Hamptons either. Definitely a place to celebrate a special occasion. I will note that the menu hasn't seemed to change much over the years, which is fine because everything is great, but I wouldn't mind seeing a little more variety.

They also have a three course prix fix dinner for $75 but expect to pay more as most of the more desirable dishes are extra. All in all, a notable experience and well worth the price.
