The North Fork Table & Inn
ate every biteFood was wonderful, flavorful and beautifully presented-portions a bit small but allowed us to "eat every bite" and not be overwhelmed by masses of food Allowed us room for dessert!!6/14/2013 12:00:00 AMElegant dining in bucolic settingThis is our go-to restaurant on the North fork. For special occasions, it can't be beat. Specializing in local food, beautifully prepared, it never disappoints.6/13/2013 12:00:00 AMExquisite Long Island FoodThe food is excellently prepared, with portions that are appropriate. We chose the three course menu, which was just the right amount of food. I had the lamb, medium rare--which was perfect. My wife had the duck, also medium rare and also perfect. For an appetizer I had the terrine and foie gras, which was a rustic variety.
The wine list is a little light and pricey for the quality of the wines, although the ability to select a smaller (3oz) pour is appreciated by anyone who might need to drive. The pre-dinner cocktails were tasty, clever, and perfect for the season.
Desserts were good but not over the top; the expresso was not quite Italy but pretty close for the US. Great food, New York City prices, Long island ambiance.6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMThe Epitome of ExcellenceWe went to dinner with very high expectations and all our anticipations were exceeded. We cannot understate how impressed we were. The food is the star, but the entire experience was a joy. The staff and Mike were genial and offered just the right amount of service and attention. We tried the three course prix fixe menu, which allowed for some choices. However, next time we would try the five course chef choice option. Everything that comes out of their kitchen is exceptional.6/6/2013 12:00:00 AMNice and good but expensiveI understand that having a proper diner never is cheap, especially in New York/Long Island.
And definitely this place is one to get proper food. The atmosphere is nice, the Service very good.
But - and don`t get me wrong - if you are from Europe or being a cosmopolitain person - this meal wasn´t outstanding. It was just a good, maybe a very good meal. The "you wont believe"- chocolate cake, was just like all others you get everywhere in the world.
So 350 Dollar for a party of two for a 3-course menu plus middle-class wine is a bit too much in my opinion.
But if money doesn´t matter, I definitely would recommend this place for having a nice diner.5/31/2013 12:00:00 AMA wonderful little gemThe NFT and inn is a great place for a relaxed brunch. There is lots of great choices on the menu for all palates. The service is impeccable, warm and friendly. I will be rebooking in here for dinner as the menu looks incredible! A wonderful experience had by all in a Long Island gem!5/26/2013 12:00:00 AMBelieveable HypeThe first place anyone seems to recommend on the North Fork lives up the the billing. Expertly prepared food, bursting with flavor and freshness. Authoritative wine service stocked with local producers. Cozy room and relaxed-but-fine-dining vibe.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMWorth the rideCalm and elegant setting, attentive but not intrusive service, and imaginative and perfectly prepared food - this is an all around winner.5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food & service are outstandingThe food & service are outstanding and you pay for this. The exterior of the building and landscaping is not attractive and needs renovation.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMWorth the tripExcellent dinner. Creative, intriguing menu. Attentive wait staff. Assertive flavors and perfectly cooked. A gem on the North Fork, and would hold its own in NYC.5/16/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat mother's day dinner! We arrived ten minutes early for a five oclock reservation....and found staff still at table...hostess still pasting together menus and not a bartender in sight....we waited to sit until about five after five and not once were we offered so much as a glass of water...a rocky start at best...once we sat....the evening improved by leaps and bounds....the menu was inventive....and well executed....we had the three course prix fixe menu and enjoyed everything....but my favorite part was the dessert! Each one was spectacular...i would go back for the coconut tapioca every day if i could....and on the way out the the restaurant gave us a fifty dollar gift certificate to use on our next visit...we will definitely be back!5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMNorth Fork Rocks!I love this place. My wife and I go every couple of months and enjoy every course. The tasting menu with the wines pairing is phenomenal. The staff is great and worth every dollar. Best restaurant on Long Island.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMOutstanding is an understatementWe had one of the best meals we have had in many years at The North Fork Table. Delicious food, great variety of choices, excellent service, very very satisfying meal that will be remembered for a long time. This restaurant deserves more than 5 stars.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMFavorite place on LIFood was outstanding as usual. Service was exquisite. Simple surroundings let you focus on your plate where beautiful presentations and layers of flavors always surprise. You would never have guessed it was restaurant week. No skimping on the choices and level of service. French Lentil soup, salmon cakes and duck mousse where all delicious as were the pan seared scallops and housemade cavatelli that melted in one's mouth. We all thought the pan roasted chicken breast was the best of show. Served on risotto with porcini mushroom and rosemary jus, it was tender and tasty. We were steered to the chocolate caramel tart by an enthusiastic couple at the next table who were there for the second night in a row. Perfection.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMNorth Fork TableA very special treat. We went for Restaurant Week, a little too pricey for our usual meals out but well worth it. Staff was helpful and present but not obsequious or in the way. Service was lovely. Every dish was carefully prepared and presented.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMWent there for restaurantWent there for restaurant week and had a lovely evening. The food was well prepared and the portions were adequate for a price fix.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMWe enjoyed the restaurantWe enjoyed the restaurant week menu! Service was extremely professional and not robotic...the room flowed. My app was on the "tame side" my husbands was delicious. Overall the meal was fantastic. Everyone is different...we felt the room was just a tad too bright. Could have brought the lights down a bit to make it cozier.

Their restaurant week menu is so enticing that it was difficult to make decisions. The scallops and the pasta with beef main courses were delicious. The main courses seem small but the overall meal with appetizer, entre and wonderful desserts is filling.5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways perfectWas there for LI Restaurant week. It's just one of those places....always amazing. We were watching as the food was put down on tables for this generous 3 course deal. Hushed reverance. Silence while people tasted and discovered. Thanks North Fork Table!5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMRestaurant Week delightExcellent spot to dine. Food great, waiters waitresses friendly, and knowledgable and rooms are spottless with very comfortable seating.. Rest rooms beautifully decorated, comfortable and so clean.5/1/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food is spectacular! ThisThe food is spectacular! This wonderful serene, yet beautiful restaurant epitomizes the perfect dining experience on the North Fork.5/1/2013 12:00:00 AMNorth Fork Table and InnI own a Bed and Breakfast in Southold and always recommend the North Fork Table and Inn to my guests , but especially when they are looking for something special, a romantic dinner or for a celebratory occasion. They are invariably delighted. Everything about this restaurant is executed to the highest standards; the dining rooms are charming; the tables far enough apart that you can't overhear your neighbors; the service attentive but not intrusive; and the food never fails to delight. I also like the bar very much for a relaxing drink at the end of a busy day, and my guests love the food truck for picnic lunches at the vineyards.4/30/2013 12:00:00 AMSpecial place to go!Food is expertly prepared, served and paired with great wine selections. Service was attentive and friendly by entire staff...highly recommend!4/29/2013 12:00:00 AMWow what that great!special food in a specia lplace with excellent service. There was a divot for the sauce.4/28/2013 12:00:00 AMCertainly among the top 3Certainly among the top 3 east end restaurants (both north and south fork). Real people, superlative cuisine: happy guests. Michael is an extraordinary host.4/28/2013 12:00:00 AMWe loved each of the dishesWe loved each of the dishes we tried from the 3 course prix fixe menu. The front room can be noisy but the room to the left seems to be for grownups and is lovely. Service was fine: unobtrusive tho not 100% polished. At $225 for two its a bit of an investment but we enjoyed it.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat ExperienceWas a little reluctant to come here because of the price, but it was well worth it and a significant step up from any other dining experiences we've had out here.
Just a great dinner, great service & great atmosphere.4/22/2013 12:00:00 AMThis is truly a gem in theThis is truly a gem in the North Fork. Absolutely amazing food and staff. Came here to celebrate our wedding anniversary and the staff set us up with the perfect table and made the whole night truly special for us. We loved the food and appreciated every aspect of our dinner here.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMWas somewhat dismayed to findWas somewhat dismayed to find out that it was Restaurant Week as do not think that the "bargain-hunting" time is best for trying out serious cooking -- but I was apprehensive for naught. The three-course meal was amazing and the food not compromised at all. It was my daughter's 18th birthday and she has been going to "outstanding" restaurants since she was three and considers herself a "foodie." Her salmon cake reminded her of a good Dutch croquette. My pureed lentil soup was divine. The miso-drenched salmon was perfectly cooked and might be the best salmon experience ever. And the desserts -- velvety caramel oozing out of pure chocolate. Attentive waitress. Good inexpensive wine choices. In other words: perfect.4/15/2013 12:00:00 AMFrom Being Greeted to Desert,From Being Greeted to Desert, a wonderful dining experience.4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMSuperb as always. The youngSuperb as always. Great food and service.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMMore ComplementsBeen a big fan since my first visit in '06. From the warm welcome to being seated often at "our" table, it's always a homecoming.
The service staff are talented, professional and always pleasant. We love the pairings to accompany Chef's delicious preparations.
One reason we enjoy Restaurant Week is that there are often new dishes on the menu that, now paired with wines, definitely broaden our tastes...and our appreciation for our friends at NFT&I.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMFood was fabulous, and theFood was fabulous, and the whole experience was lovely4/12/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent food and service..Excellent food and service.. It's going strong as a foodie find. I wish them continued success!4/10/2013 12:00:00 AMBest of the best---This restaurant is one of the best I've ever been to, and for Long Island it is the best.
Their service is excellent from beginning to end. They called to confirm the reservation; the greeting coming and going was uptempo and concerned; and their wait staff is prompt, efficient, and personable.
Their food is superb, and has been every time we've been their over the past five years. The portions are small, but we always are full when we leave and have totally enjoyed the entire meal.
As part of restaurant week this time they "paired" some of their wines to each item, and this led us to try some fine wines we normally would not have.4/9/2013 12:00:00 AMYour palate will pop with delight!NFTG's chef is a master at combining local produce with spices that please the palate and result in exceptional appetizers and entrees that pop with texture and flavor. The wait staff is very accommodating from the greeter to the server. They were also exceptionally knowledgable about the dishes served and the right wines to compliment them. A must go restaurant for anyone who truly appreciates fine dining in a semi-casual atmosphere.4/9/2013 12:00:00 AMOne of my favorite restaruants. One of my favorite restaruants.
