We chose the three course menu, which was just the right amount of food. I had the lamb, medium rare--which was perfect. My wife had the duck, also medium rare and also perfect. For an appetizer I had the terrine and foie gras, which was a rustic variety.
The wine list is a little light and pricey for the quality of the wines, although the ability to select a smaller (3oz) pour is appreciated by anyone who might need to drive. The pre-dinner cocktails were tasty, clever, and perfect for the season.
Desserts were good but not over the top; the expresso was not quite Italy but pretty close for the US. We cannot understate how impressed we were. The food is the star, but the entire experience was a joy. The staff and Mike were genial and offered just the right amount of service and attention. We tried the three course prix fixe menu, which allowed for some choices. However, next time we would try the five course chef choice option. And definitely this place is one to get proper food. The atmosphere is nice, the Service very good.
But - and don`t get me wrong - if you are from Europe or being a cosmopolitain person - this meal wasn´t outstanding. It was just a good, maybe a very good meal. The "you wont believe"- chocolate cake, was just like all others you get everywhere in the world.
So 350 Dollar for a party of two for a 3-course menu plus middle-class wine is a bit too much in my opinion.

French Lentil soup, salmon cakes and duck mousse where all delicious as were the pan seared scallops and housemade cavatelli that melted in one's mouth. We all thought the pan roasted chicken breast was the best of show. Served on risotto with porcini mushroom and rosemary jus, it was tender and tasty. We were steered to the chocolate caramel tart by an enthusiastic couple at the next table who were there for the second night in a row. Their service is excellent from beginning to end. They called to confirm the reservation; the greeting coming and going was uptempo and concerned; and their wait staff is prompt, efficient, and personable.
Their food is superb, and has been every time we've been their over the past five years. The portions are small, but we always are full when we leave and have totally enjoyed the entire meal.
