The Norsemen RestaurantWe had the Friday night VealWe had the Friday night Veal Special !!! Exellent!! Freindly service , great view of the lake. What,s not to like ???6/14/2013 12:00:00 AMCame back for SchnitzelWent to the norsemen for the second time in a week. This time it was for Friday night Schnitzel Night. Best Jager Schnitzel we have had in a long time including the one we had in our recent trip to Vienna. Quite well prepared with accompanying house potatoes and mixed vegetables done to perfection. Price was right at $16.00. As before service was excellent and wine list extensive. Started(again) with the Lobster ravioli which just as good as the previous time. Would have eaten on the screened in porch but it started to rain so went inside. Can't say enough good things about this eclectic restaurant in a peaceful location5/31/2013 12:00:00 AMDon't let the exterior scare youThis restaurant is part of a small cottage community and is housed in an 1867 house that could stand some work outside. Don't let this scare you as the restaurant has been listed in where to eat in Canada and once inside the food is fantastic and the wine list extensive. The lobster ravioli starter was some of the best we have ever had. Venison can be quite dry but my entre was done to perfection with a nice sauce. My partner's salmon was superbly cooked and wrapped in a phyllo pastry which was very light. The entrees included rice with the salmon, roast potatoes with the meat and superbly cooked mixed vegetables with both. The German chocolate cake dessert was outstanding. Service by the owner was excellent and the wine choices very good5/26/2013 12:00:00 AMOnce again we were not disappointe.Les and the team at the Norseman continue to provide a great dining experience in Muskoka. Worth the trip from Dorset , Baysville, Dwight, Bracebridge or Huntsville, you will not be disappointed.
If you have not tried the Norseman, you owe it to yourself to do so.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AM
