A word from The NoMad
The NoMad is the second restaurant from Chef Daniel Humm and Restaurateur Will Guidara.

Inspired by the Chef's time spent throughout Switzerland, California, and New York City, the restaurant is rooted in the same traditions found at their critically-acclaimed, Michelin three-star rated Eleven Madison Park.

The restaurant has soaring interiors with a refined, yet approachable menu, featuring a thoughtfully-curated wine program celebrating the great wine regions of the world, alongside innovative and classically-focused cocktails.

  • "It's cool and trendy. Very full of people. But the ambiance is very noise and the music is loud that you can't talk to each other. The strawberry salat is very good but the pork, pasta and the cheesecake were poor. The cheesecake was strange also."

  • "A colleague and I decided on a special summer treat. We went for lunch at The NoMad. This is not my first time. The food has been consistently good. The chef is a wizard at making vegetables the center of a meal. This time we went for the proteins, striped bass and duck. Both delicious. We decided to be adventurous and try the Finger Lakes Rose, which is part of The Gotham Project, "importing" barrel wines for use in high end restaurants. Surprisingly good. Service is attentive and unobtrusive. Servers are happy to provide information about how dishes are constructed. Be aware that this is not a cheap lunch. For that you can stand on line next door for a NoMad salad. The NoMad restaurant is definitely worth a trip."

  • "We had dinner at NoMad last week. The food is fabulous and the room is nice. However, they tried to seat us at the worst table despite the fact that many nicer tables were available. We had to ask to be moved. Also the service was nonexistent. That was very disappointing and made for a stressful dinner."

  • "We've only been for brunch and drinks before (and it's always been excellent), so we decided to try the NoMad for my birthday dinner. We were not disappointed. We started with delicious Alfred Gratien rose champagne (compliments of the house, since it was a special occasion), and everything that followed was equally wonderful. I had the herb tagliolini with meyer lemon and clams, and Jer had the suckling pig with apricots. The dessert (called "milk & honey") was the perfect ending!"

  • "It is always bad when you have built something up in your head and finally get there and it seldom measures up to your expectations. I had looked forward to this for months. It was good but just not quite what I expected. I was not wild about the ambience and the Décor. A little dark and plush. Chairs not too comfortable. Food was good but not over the top good. Waiter was helpful. My wife did not like the dessert she had and waiter took it off the bill which was nice since she said very little."

  • " Sparkling water was poured and consumed freely and since it was in the type of bottles that indicated it was made on premises (as for example Ches Panisse and il Buco and others that we frequent and where it is complimentary) we assumed the same here, but we were charged $6 per bottle. When I mentioned that, I was told the price was on the menu. e food was okay with the salads being way over-priced and just okay."

  • "I celebrated my 50th birthday with my family at Nomad and it was one of the finest dining experiences I have ever had. The service was impeccable, the food superb and they were hospitable to my 10-year-old child. Wonderful!"

  • "wanted to have dinner at The NoMad for a long time. finally got a reservation on a friday night, was seated at the end of the restaurant with view of a closed and draped window (and my wife thank God) Appetizers were small without taste for my tuna tartare 3 tiny pieces of tuna on a stick and 3 pieces on a cracker ,. A very spicy snow pea salad for my wife who could not eat it. Chicken for 2 at $82 + tax + tips = $110 was nauseous in a foie gras sauce that did not go very well with the chicken, and i am still looking for the chanterelles and all the accompaniment that was described on the menu.My advice: next time you want to go to The NoMad , stay home and go get a cook chicken from Eataly."

  • "We weren't impressed by the roast chicken for two. I make a better version at home although the presentation of the whole bird stuffed with fragrant herbs is quite beautiful. Once carved and presented, the actual chicken is over-embellished with a soggy skin, and the side dish of dark meat slathered with what tasted like an a la king sauce was just not tasty. The pea shoot salad and sprout salad were both light and delectable as were the desserts. I'd recommend going against the tide and passing up the chicken and just order what your palate would like. Overall I loved the restaurant and will return to make more adventurous choices."

  • "My wife and I eloped and ate dinner at NoMad for our wedding night. All I can say is the food and service was off the charts. It was an unforgettable meal and the attention to detail in the food and the service was notable. The ambience was perfect for our occasion. The flavours of the appetisers we had and the main course of roast chicken put as both in a state of pure ambrosia. Needless to say, we absolutely loved it!"

  • "Chicken for two is good. Come here for the chicken for two. But seriously do not even think about taking that 6.30 and before reservation. The only people there are those of Greenwich CT or Jersey finishing up their very busy "day in the city" rushed to catch the Metro North to get them home by 10. Think wrinkled oversized blue shirts and khakis. Not a hip crowd. The crowd gets better by 8. But the chicken for two is not worth that 6.15 reservation."

  • "Didn't know what to expect but did recognize the reviews for the restaurant were pretty positive. We didn't try the popular chicken for two dish, but did see a lot of people ordering it. We shared the beef tartare appetizer, and it was amazing. Probably one of the best beef tartare I ever had. We were there for my cousin's birthday & she was pretty impressed and couldn't stop talking about how delicious and well paired the ingredients were. I'm allergic to seafood and the chef was able to accommodate and did not include the anchovies in the dish. I had the slow cooked carrot entree and my cousin had the beef dish. Both amazing and worth the price tag. The wait staff was very attentive and wasn't pushy when we didn't order drinks."

In the hope of exploring the fantastic, the unforeseen and unimaginable, the highest merits of the technician, the craftsman and the artist. It doesn't happen often that utopia is found, but it was the night of this writer's experience. Within a few years, this place will be as on the map as Daniel, Le Bernardin, or, most recently, 11 Madison, Humm's entry into the stratosphere. For now, The Nomad's food is both classic and new, and immediately fits into a repertoire only a Jungian might decode. Go before the atmosphere of reaching fades, and it becomes, like all things mythic, a regurgitation of good intentions and muscle memory."

  • "I've been hearing good things about The NoMad and have always wanted to try it. When a couple of friends visited the City, we decided to go. The ambience was amazing! And the food was superb! The staff were actually also very pleasant and nice. Except for our server. We have observed that he was actually the only unpleasant server. He looked like he was being forced to work. So I'm giving it a 4 instead of a 5. Nonetheless, I'd go back to this restaurant!"

  • "This was one of the best meals we have ever had. However be sure to ask for the side room with the fireplace, as the main dining area sounded loud and energetic. We were sat and not hurried at all, with perfect cocktails. We had to go with the chicken they are known for and were not disappointed. I cannot wait to come back to NY and make this a part of our trip"

The Tuna Tartar, the presentation was very nice, but the tartar itself, had no flavor. The Suckling Pig, the top was supposed to be crispy, but when it arrived, it was already soft, so it got to be a bit chewy."

  • "The food at the Nomad is good but the next to nonexistent waiter and his dismissive attitude was off putting. It took almost 40 minutes before our waiter, Faud took our order. That was one of the two times we saw him the 3.5 hours we were there. Throughout the night only the busboy and hostess came to check up on us. Our waiter came by to ask us if we wanted coffee, tea or dessert after we had finished coffee and dessert so when we asked for the check he just tossed it on the table. That is unacceptable behavior. The food was good and flavors nice and I recommend going but just avoid this terrible waiter at all costs."
