The NoMadAmazing food and serviceNoMad is definitely one of my best NYC food experiences!!! I would certainly be coming back to this restaurant.5/21/2013 12:00:00 AM.Sublime food..The combination of food, service & ambiance creates an intoxicating experience.
After the pleasure of one dinner & one lunch... I honestly feel the that this cuisine sets a vey high bar.5/21/2013 12:00:00 AMThe NoMad a mustThe NoMad is one of the best restaurants in the City. As it becomes more known, reservations will be increasingly difficult. Go while you can. Sweetbread appetizer (sweetbreads in spring rolls) was delicious and unique, as was the suckling pig done two ways.5/20/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent AmbienceVery classy romantic restaurant in the middle of busy NYC. When inside I forgot what city I was in. The food portions however were very small but excellent quantity. Luckily we had a late lunch so it wasn't that bad. But don't go hungry5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMNomad Chicken As Good As AdvertisedPlanned a romantic get-away to NYC and chose to stay at the Nomad. While planning dining options for each night of our stay, we considered the Nomad restaurant for one of the nights. The menu item most frequently referenced in reviews was the Roasted Chicken for Two. So we had to try it. We started with the Tagliatelle with king crab. The pasta was fresh and the sauce tangy, light and flavorful. Then came the chicken shown to us whole prior to carving. Beautifully roasted. Juicy, flavorful and delicious. Foi gras and black truffle under the breast skin. The dark meat served in a separate vessel and swimming in a creamy sauce with flavors of sour cream, heavy cream and herbs. Carrot cake dessert was less impressive.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMGood but expensiveHad just appetizers for lunch and found the portions tiny and very expensive albeit very well done.5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMGet the chickenWhy else would you come here? A modern twist on a classic. It's delicious.5/15/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat ServiceWaiter did a fantastic job descibing the preparation of menu items. Will be back.5/15/2013 12:00:00 AMFirst time in NYCThe Nomad was our first dining experience in NYC and we weren't disappointed. The restaurant is in an atrium area on the ground level of a French/Italian inspired decor hotel which is stunning in itself. When you arrive it is very busy but the waiting staff still give you the just attention and time. The food is delicious and in generous portions and the service is smart. The Chicken is a must! As well as the 2L Brooklyn beer jug!
We will be back soon.5/15/2013 12:00:00 AMExpensive but deliciousNot going to be in the value category anytime soon, but with the atmosphere and presentation it was a delightful lunch.5/13/2013 12:00:00 AMExceeded ExpectationsI've been wanting to try this place for quite some time but it's not that easy to score a reservation. We lucked out and went for the Mother's Day pre-fixe dinner. The decor, service and food were amazing. This is definitely on the top of our list of restaurants in the city. We tried the recommendations from our server (which weren't things we would have normally ordered) and they were phenomenal. Our server was so knowledgable about the food and wine, that he actually added to our overall experience. Although pricey, it was worth every penny. We would definitely highly recommend and we can't wait to go back.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMThe NoMad experienceThe NoMad was great. The food was delicious. However! We did find a tiny piece of plastic wrap in one of our dishes. The waitress/manager took care of the bill for that dish and everything was fine.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMScrumptious brunchMy husband and I have had dinner a couple of times at NoMad and been very pleased with the experience, so we decided to try brunch, and we're glad that we did. They offer a nice selection of breakfast and lunch items and the food is as wonderful as at dinner. I had a lobster salad that was fabulous. Lots of lobster cooked perfectly so it was tender and moist. My husband had the tagliatella with crab which is sublime (we'd tried that before at dinner). The service is impeccable and friendly and any of the rooms are lovely. It is pricey, but worth the cost.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMVery enjoyable lunch!Enjoyed the selections offered and everything we had was great! Chicken for two was very tasty, and the third person had the scallops and said they were delicious. The staff was courteous and prompt, and met every need. The restaurant space itself is relaxed and club like, but not pretentious at all. Would definitely recommend.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMWelcome to NYPrepare to enjoy food and drink that you have not seen nor tasted before
Excellent ambience and preparation
Tasteful atmosphere and attentive staff5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMLove the chicken! The famous roast chicken for two is amazing. Moist and tender white meat. Foie gras and truffles under the crispy skin. We also had the egg appetizer which was the most unique and delicious preparation we've ever had. The main dining area can be noisy. However the area near the fireplace is cozy, quiet, and romantic.
Our waitress was very polite and extremely knowledgeable about all the food and wine. The other staff members were also very attentive.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent experienceWe LOVED the entire experience at The NoMad. From beginning to end, it was perfect. We went for a romantic birthday celebration but we are not waiting to go back for a special occasion. It was exquisite!! We have absolutely NOTHING bad to say. It was all fantastic. Book a month ahead to ensure your reservation!5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMSome of the best service i'veSome of the best service i've experianced in a long time.....5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMperfectionseriously. Daniel Humm and Will Guidera can do no wrong.4/29/2013 12:00:00 AMIf you are staving I do notIf you are staving I do not want to spend a lot of money, it's not a good place!! However, the food was very good.4/28/2013 12:00:00 AMThe brunch was delightfulThe brunch was delightful under the skylights late on a sunny Sunday. Only complaint was that the wine was $20 per glass and only one-inch-and-a-half of wine in the glass. I would have said something but didn't want to embarrass my dining mate.4/28/2013 12:00:00 AMSuperlative service and excellentSuperlative service and excellent food. But my wife and I went for brunch and felt that the portions were small for such high prices. It was the most expensive brunch we've ever had, and while it was good, we don't feel our experience justified the cost.4/28/2013 12:00:00 AMBrunch surpriseUnbelievable brunch. Lunch menu is available with many entrees in appetizer portion. Thank heaven for that as we end up sampling everything. You will definitely find a favorite here.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMGet the chicken! We arrived for a pre-theater dinner, so we had our choice of rooms. We opted for the more rich, warm and regal parlour. The atrium is very pretty, but the parlour is a far more intimate setting. The cocktail & wine list are impressive. The service was plentiful with a large staff allocated for the dinner service. The waiter was thorough in his explanations and we ordered the roast chicken for two. It was quite possibly the best chicken dish I've had at a restaurant. It is everything the critics say, and more. My one complaint is that it comes with just a sprinkling of vegetables. Between our snack and appetizer courses, we had plenty of food, but I usually feel better when there is more greenery on the plate.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMNoMad was fantastic. GreatNoMad was fantastic. Great atmosphere-very Parisian-in a good way. Food was perfect- unique dishes and quite delicious. Great to take friends for a fun and memorable meal.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat New Yorker Atmosphere!Great New Yorker Atmosphere! In this place you will undestand the reason for which the cocktail was born in New York City...the Dinner was really good...the best dish: chicken roasted, foie gras, black truffle and brioche4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMRoasted Chicken a must tryExceptionally creative. The Roasted Chicken was great, NoMad takes chicken to a new level. The appetizer bread, a seeded rye onion foccacia like presentation baked with Fingerling potatoes in the dough was really different. The space is dark, but energetic with the 30's crowd dominating the scene. Milk and Honey dessert perect ending.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMSimply SuperbAnother outstanding experience at The Nomad. We split the radish "snack" and the crab tagliatelle. We had the hake and the roasted carrots as our entrees. Each dish was simple and superb--and simply superb. Chef Humm just nails it every time.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMMust experience!!!!Probably one of the best dining experiences I have ever had. Everything about it is luxurious! The decor, the service, the food...everything! We ordered the Chicken for Two, which we had heard such great things about. It did not disappoint. It was rich and decadent. Also had the Milk and Honey dessert, which also lived up to our expectations. Highly recommend!!!!!4/24/2013 12:00:00 AMNkMad is remarkable -- differentNkMad is remarkable -- different restaurants for different moods. The food was excellent, -- licorice and baked pears. coupled with surprises. It is a memorable experience -- from the transformation of the former National Cash Register building (almost a century old) to the sunlit main dining room and romantic alcoves. You will be talking about the meal and its ambiance for a long time.4/23/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful! Food was excellentWonderful! Food was excellent and sitting in the fireplace room can be very romantic as well. Excellent service and beautiful decor.4/22/2013 12:00:00 AMMemorable BrunchThis was our first time at NoMad, and after a slightly bumpy start, the staff and chef made this one of the more memorable brunches we've had in the city. I only mention the bumpy start to emphasize that the staff noticed our discomfort and more than made up for it, especially the maitre d' in particular and our waiter. The pastries, egg entre and sea scallops were all deliciously prepared and delightfully served. The atrium space was beautiful and perfect for brunch on a sunny day. We look forward to returning for dinner in the more romantic parlor or fireplace rooms. The entire space, from the dining room, to the bar, to the library, feels like the opulent, comfortable arm-chair hotels of the end of the 20th Century.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat cocktail list. FoodGreat cocktail list. Food was amazing. The chicken lived up to and exceeded expectations.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMSimply put, the specialtySimply put, the specialty is chicken and they do an amzing job on it. The waiters are passionate in describing the food here and no wonder, it's great!4/16/2013 12:00:00 AMFood was amazing...settingFood was amazing...setting beautiful....waitstaff perfect service...loved the chiffonade of snow peas and the crab tagliatelle and the poached egg on quinoa....fantastic4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMBest night out.My first time at this restaurant was this past Sunday night. The food and service was impeccable. It felt like my guest and I were the only focus of the staff. I will return and will recommend the NoMad to everyone.4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMLove it!!! The decorationLove it!!!
The decoration is amazing!
We order the beef tartare (superb!), the lobster and the duck. The best of the night was the dessert: milk and honey (exquisite)4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellentStunning decor, welcoming arrival experience, warm service and excellent food, all reflective of Daniel Humm (I tried it first at the Campton Place in San Francisco). We went for brunch and after our neighboring table ordered the chicken sandwich we did too. It had foie gras and black truffles and the juciest chicken I've ever tasted. Recommend to share it so you can try all the other delicacies on the menu. Can't wait to go back!4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMThe toughest reservation toThe toughest reservation to get but worth it! Always. Great food service and late night vibe4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMFantastic evening! The chickenFantastic evening! The chicken was the best dish I've had in a long time. I highly recommend it!4/11/2013 12:00:00 AMGood food but expensive- $20Good food but expensive- $20 for carrots was a bit much. Everything else was probably worth it.4/9/2013 12:00:00 AMButternut Squash/Morcilla SausageThe NoMad is great, it didn't disappoint the second time. First time we went, which was right when it opened, we had the famous chicken and it was absolutely delicious so we went back for the chicken but instead we ended up getting different dishes. Currently (as of April 2013) they have a Butternut Squash dish with morcilla sausage and quinoa, which is one of the best dishes I have ever had in my life. The butternut squash is roasted, and it's a long sideway-cut slice with the sausage and quinoa on top. Don't miss out on it. Also have the tagliatelle with king crab and lemon sauce (which was an absolute joy to eat). But pass on the lamb sweetbreads, the portion was minuscule and it really didn't have much flavor. Will be back.4/9/2013 12:00:00 AMLOVE this spot!!! The foodLOVE this spot!!! The food is beyond and the passion of the entire staff is s evident in the sublime service!!!4/7/2013 12:00:00 AMI went to Nomad with my girlfriendI went to Nomad with my girlfriend for our anniversary. As a chef I can guarantee the food was amazing, the service was perfect, and wine pairing was very nice. Overall, definitely our new favorite special occasion spot.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMCreative, delicious food.Creative, delicious food. If you don't order the chicken (which we did). No more expensive than other upscale restaurants.4/3/2013 12:00:00 AMBuzzingI was skeptical about the roast chicken that everyone raved about because I'm not a big fan of chicken when I go out to dine. However this chicken w/foie gras was amazing! I also loved the presentation of the whole roasted chicken before it was served to us because it gave us a photo op. This restaurant lives up to it's buzz.4/2/2013 12:00:00 AMgreat business lunchThis was a business lunch and we were both impressed. There is an impressive bar, but we didn't stay. Classical style decor.4/1/2013 12:00:00 AMMrs.Excellent new addition to the NYC dining scene. Food was excellent as was the service and ambiance..Will definitely return when visiting the city. Interesting menu choices...Center room with glass roof is most appealing. Other dining areas are much darker and perhaps more romantic..4/1/2013 12:00:00 AMAMAZINGIncredible...everything that hit my mouth was prepared perfectly. The fruit de mers and beef tartare were among the best I've ever had, and the roast chicken was amazing and beautiful. Service is pretty spot-on as well, with a wonderful ambiance. Hats off to the whole operation.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazing food - out of theAmazing food - out of the ordinary and imaginative. Fresh ingredients, and everything was so flavorful. Since it is in the Nomad hotel, the service is 5 star all the way.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AM
