The NoMadAmazing food. The best vegAmazing food. The best veg dish i ever tasted. Recommended!6/12/2013 12:00:00 AMAs always, a fantastic experienceAs always, a fantastic experience at The NoMad. The food continues to just be outstanding, the sweetbreads are one of my favorites to the egg/asparagus appetizer and the chicken is so worth it!!! Our waiter, Lucas was great and the evening couldn't have been more fun. thank you again...6/12/2013 12:00:00 AMThat chicken, that tagliatelleAfter a few months of not having the now famous roasted chicken at NoMad, I returned and was not disappointed. It is a brilliant idea and the result remains stunningly delicious. And the Meyer lemon tagliatelle with King Crab should be an equally famous dish. It is vibrant and absolutely basic, like the best pasta dishes are. So, I shall return again and again. It helps that the service is spot on and the place welcoming.6/11/2013 12:00:00 AMWorth going early for!Had to make do with a 5.45 reservation as I was only in NY for a week and "only" booked 4 weeks in advance. But was glad I went for the earlier-than-usual time. Food is very good, the service is good without being stuffy and the general setting is wonderful.
In particular, the sommelier gave us excellent and welcome advice on pairing our food selection with wine.
My starter of lamb sweetbreads was both delicious and delicate on the palate. For main we had the much vaunted roast chicken. While it was indeed outstanding, I felt the sauce had just a little too much cheese, and the garlic foam on the shredded brown meat a little overpowering ... but I am nit-picking ...6/11/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat!Short and direct to the point: Just the best roasted chicken I've ever had in my life!!! Very good and friendly service, nice ambience, all perfect!6/11/2013 12:00:00 AMNoMad continues to excelThis is my third time at NoMad. Each time I have introduced another friend to it. In brief, it is quite superb. The menu is intelligent as well as good. I learn about new combinations; I experience new tastes. I believe NoMad is the best restaurant in New York City.6/10/2013 12:00:00 AMFantastic brunch spot! AndFantastic brunch spot! And a great bloody mary selection. Looking fwd to coming back for dinner6/9/2013 12:00:00 AMMust try roast chickenWorth a trip. Met expectation. Chicken breast could be more tender (like some Michelin 3 star establishments, some). Overall, will miss this dearly when I return home.6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMgreat service, relaxing ambianceMy experience at the NoMad was great! Our server was very polite and helpful with menu suggestions. There were multiple people waiting on our table, making us feel taken care of the entire lunch. I will definitely be returning!6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMA Class ActI requested a romantic table for our anniversary, and it was waiting when we arrived. Our waiter immediately poured us glasses of champagne on the house to celebrate our occasion. He and other staff members were impeccably attentive throughout. Food was spectacular, but be prepared to shell out big bucks. Roast Chicken, their signature dish at $79.00 for 2 people, was easily the best chicken I've eaten in my life! The Fruits De Mer "snack", $24.00 per person, was special, but too small a portion to justify the price. Complimentary rosemary bread was hot and delectable. The Milk and Honey dessert was delish!. Decor was sumptuous, but a little dark for our tastes. I highly recommend NoMad for a special occasion if price isn't an issue.6/5/2013 12:00:00 AMtotally deliveredwent for a good bye lunch for a friend. tagliatelle, asparagus, milk and honey desert were sublime - clean flavors, fun deconstructions but everything done for taste as opposed to show. i could not have been more pleased. excellent, thoughtful service.
what fine dining 2013 should be all around.6/5/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat spot. We had a breakfastGreat spot. We had a breakfast meeting there. I will definitely go back for dinner and a drink in the Library.6/3/2013 12:00:00 AMwhat I expectedexcept that some of the public and waiters might be a bit "stiff" or trying a bit too hard to look important and cool, it's a great place. Chicken was excellent.6/3/2013 12:00:00 AMThe roasted chicken broughtThe roasted chicken brought back fond memories of a Bresse chicken enjoyed in Avignon.6/1/2013 12:00:00 AM17 Points11 Madison Park has been rated as the nr. 5 in the World, unfortunately we were not able to get a table so we book the NoMad and the chef there is as well Daniel Humm. The wine list is very good but could be better, service was very good. The appetizer was superb and the main course (chicken) unfortunately was a bit to dry, due to the fact that it took them 10 minutes to prepare it after the showed it to us. Dessert fantastic and overall very good. It is worth a try and I will come back!5/30/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways ImpeccableI haven't felt this comfortable in a restaurant ever. The staff is so well educated and the food is superb.5/26/2013 12:00:00 AMPlace is very hippy . HadPlace is very hippy . Had brunch there.Service excellent . Food is ok .Portions small but overall nice accomodating place5/26/2013 12:00:00 AMAn Unexpected DelightWe went into the NoMad without any expectations and walked away with an amazing experience. A friend of ours had been working there after graduating from culinary school and so we decided to stop by while in NYC. We started off with a few soft cocktails (non-alcoholic) with turned about to be very delicious. When we ordered the appetizers, our order was mixed up, but the server fixed the problem right away. We had ordered the Fluke, Lamb, and Beef Tartare, all of which were excellent. For the main course, we had the Suckling Pig Confit, Duck, and Scallop dishes. The scallops were cooked to perfection, and the duck was also nice and moist. The pork was a bit unexpected, but very delicious. A great evening all around!5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMFantastic lunch experienceMoMad offered a great luncheon menu and the service was excellent. One guest at our table had to leave early and they served her entree early to accommodate her.
Can't wait to return - food was fantastic!5/24/2013 12:00:00 AMFood, service were both veryFood, service were both very good. The one complaint we had was the music, loud and did not feel appropriate for the place.5/21/2013 12:00:00 AM.Sublime food..The combination of food, service & ambiance creates an intoxicating experience.
After the pleasure of one dinner & one lunch... I honestly feel the that this cuisine sets a vey high bar.5/21/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazing food and serviceNoMad is definitely one of my best NYC food experiences!!! I would certainly be coming back to this restaurant.5/21/2013 12:00:00 AMThe NoMad a mustThe NoMad is one of the best restaurants in the City. As it becomes more known, reservations will be increasingly difficult. Go while you can. Sweetbread appetizer (sweetbreads in spring rolls) was delicious and unique, as was the suckling pig done two ways.5/20/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent AmbienceVery classy romantic restaurant in the middle of busy NYC. When inside I forgot what city I was in. The food portions however were very small but excellent quantity. Luckily we had a late lunch so it wasn't that bad. But don't go hungry5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMNomad Chicken As Good As AdvertisedPlanned a romantic get-away to NYC and chose to stay at the Nomad. While planning dining options for each night of our stay, we considered the Nomad restaurant for one of the nights. The menu item most frequently referenced in reviews was the Roasted Chicken for Two. So we had to try it. We started with the Tagliatelle with king crab. The pasta was fresh and the sauce tangy, light and flavorful. Then came the chicken shown to us whole prior to carving. Beautifully roasted. Juicy, flavorful and delicious. Foi gras and black truffle under the breast skin. The dark meat served in a separate vessel and swimming in a creamy sauce with flavors of sour cream, heavy cream and herbs. Carrot cake dessert was less impressive.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazing!Amazing food and service from start to finish. Not one single disappointing dish!5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMGood but expensiveHad just appetizers for lunch and found the portions tiny and very expensive albeit very well done.5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMA fabulous dinner from startA fabulous dinner from start to finish. Chicken for 2 was perfect! It was a great evening of food and wine. The service complemented the ambiance.5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMGet the chickenWhy else would you come here? A modern twist on a classic. It's delicious.5/15/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat ServiceWaiter did a fantastic job descibing the preparation of menu items. Will be back.5/15/2013 12:00:00 AMFirst time in NYCThe Nomad was our first dining experience in NYC and we weren't disappointed. The restaurant is in an atrium area on the ground level of a French/Italian inspired decor hotel which is stunning in itself. When you arrive it is very busy but the waiting staff still give you the just attention and time. The food is delicious and in generous portions and the service is smart. The Chicken is a must! As well as the 2L Brooklyn beer jug!
We will be back soon.5/15/2013 12:00:00 AMExpensive but deliciousNot going to be in the value category anytime soon, but with the atmosphere and presentation it was a delightful lunch.5/13/2013 12:00:00 AMExceeded ExpectationsI've been wanting to try this place for quite some time but it's not that easy to score a reservation. We lucked out and went for the Mother's Day pre-fixe dinner. The decor, service and food were amazing. This is definitely on the top of our list of restaurants in the city. We tried the recommendations from our server (which weren't things we would have normally ordered) and they were phenomenal. Our server was so knowledgable about the food and wine, that he actually added to our overall experience. Although pricey, it was worth every penny. We would definitely highly recommend and we can't wait to go back.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMThe NoMad experienceThe NoMad was great. The food was delicious. However! We did find a tiny piece of plastic wrap in one of our dishes. The waitress/manager took care of the bill for that dish and everything was fine.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMScrumptious brunchMy husband and I have had dinner a couple of times at NoMad and been very pleased with the experience, so we decided to try brunch, and we're glad that we did. They offer a nice selection of breakfast and lunch items and the food is as wonderful as at dinner. I had a lobster salad that was fabulous. Lots of lobster cooked perfectly so it was tender and moist. My husband had the tagliatella with crab which is sublime (we'd tried that before at dinner). The service is impeccable and friendly and any of the rooms are lovely. It is pricey, but worth the cost.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMVery enjoyable lunch!Enjoyed the selections offered and everything we had was great! Chicken for two was very tasty, and the third person had the scallops and said they were delicious. The staff was courteous and prompt, and met every need. The restaurant space itself is relaxed and club like, but not pretentious at all. Would definitely recommend.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMWelcome to NYPrepare to enjoy food and drink that you have not seen nor tasted before
Excellent ambience and preparation
Tasteful atmosphere and attentive staff5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMSuperb food and odd decorThe food is excellent with a wide range of choices and innovative twists.5/7/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat but lateWe got seated at 10:20PM for our 10PM reservation. I understand, I am in the business myself.
The food though and attention was below my expecations. You could see that the kitchen was tired.
The famous chicken wasn't sizzeling anymore when it came to the table like at other tables before and the filling was a little bland. Lots' of brioche flavor no Foie Gras flavor at all. My Foie appetizer with unripened strawberries was way to acid.
Our previous drinks at the bar where also a little dissapointing. Gin and Tonic already premixed??
I ordered a Hendricks and it came with a Lime instead of a cucumber in a not very classy presentation.
Maybe my expecations where a little to high.
Otherwise, great energy in the room. I would go back5/6/2013 12:00:00 AMLove the chicken! The famous roast chicken for two is amazing. Moist and tender white meat. Foie gras and truffles under the crispy skin. We also had the egg appetizer which was the most unique and delicious preparation we've ever had. The main dining area can be noisy. However the area near the fireplace is cozy, quiet, and romantic.
Our waitress was very polite and extremely knowledgeable about all the food and wine. The other staff members were also very attentive.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent experienceWe LOVED the entire experience at The NoMad. From beginning to end, it was perfect. We went for a romantic birthday celebration but we are not waiting to go back for a special occasion. It was exquisite!! We have absolutely NOTHING bad to say. It was all fantastic. Book a month ahead to ensure your reservation!5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMSome of the best service i'veSome of the best service i've experianced in a long time.....5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMFlawless Technique in each ElementHad an amazing meal here. The food was well seasoned and very satisfying, which most vegetable focused dishes don't tend to accomplish. It was obvious how much love and discipline(not to sound cliche) are put into creating this dishes; nothing felt accidental.
The chicken for two was amazing, but the asparagus entree barely stole the show.5/1/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had to laugh when my guestWe had to laugh when my guest and I debated whether the tagatelle with crab dinner portion was going to be so large vs. the appetizer portion, that we would share it--fat chance. Portions here are very small. The food however is delicious. I ordered the lobster and asparagus which was outstanding. We were not happy with the radish app because it's perplexing how a tiny, tasteless radish dipped in unsalted butter and flash frozen is a culinary delight--they had no flavor and the small pile of salt on the side was useless because it didnt stick to the frozen butter. Dessert portions were HUGE in comparison and absolutely, delicious! I think NoMad definitely has their priorities straight---dessert is the most important course of a meal :)4/30/2013 12:00:00 AMperfectionseriously. Daniel Humm and Will Guidera can do no wrong.4/29/2013 12:00:00 AMIf you are staving I do notIf you are staving I do not want to spend a lot of money, it's not a good place!! However, the food was very good.4/28/2013 12:00:00 AMThe brunch was delightfulThe brunch was delightful under the skylights late on a sunny Sunday. Only complaint was that the wine was $20 per glass and only one-inch-and-a-half of wine in the glass. I would have said something but didn't want to embarrass my dining mate.4/28/2013 12:00:00 AMSuperlative service and excellentSuperlative service and excellent food. But my wife and I went for brunch and felt that the portions were small for such high prices. It was the most expensive brunch we've ever had, and while it was good, we don't feel our experience justified the cost.4/28/2013 12:00:00 AMBrunch surpriseUnbelievable brunch. Lunch menu is available with many entrees in appetizer portion. Thank heaven for that as we end up sampling everything. You will definitely find a favorite here.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMI had higher expectationsI had higher expectations based on all the great things I have heard about the NoMad. Brunch was fine, eggs Benedict are eggs Benedict regardless of where you have them (although $22 for mediocrity is pricey in my book). Wine list was very nice and although I didn't have one of their speciality cocktails, they also looked appealing. Personally, I felt the servers were somewhat intrusive, interruptive, and pushy.
With all the other amazing options for brunch in NYC, I won't be returning.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AM
