  • "Booked an anniversary dinner and got exactly what we were hoping for. Top notch food from a varied menu. The wine list was extensive and Devin made a wonderful suggestion for us. The filet mignon trip was beyond description excellent as were the accompanying side dishes. We splurged and got the lobster Mac and cheese and didn't regret it. A bill well north of $100 but worth every dollar if you're looking for a special meal at a great restaurant."

  • "We ordered the heavily promoted pre-6:30PM "blackboard dinner" for $16. The appetizer caesar salad was good - fresh with just enough dressing. For entrees, there were two choices: chicken marsala and fish & chips. I ordered fish and chips. The fish was dry and had no taste. The chips were potato chips that I think were out of a bag. Value about $2.00. The chicken was better, but barely. The chocolate cake for dessert was also good, as was the Greek yoghurt. Their wine list is pretty expensive. On the positive side, the ambiance is very attractive and welcoming; and the service was friendly and efficient. I don't think we'd go back for this "bargain"."

  • "First time a the Napa Tavern, had lunch with a friend. The menu has many selections to choose from, however since it was our first time here we decided to try the $10.00 Lunch Buffet, this way we could taste a variety of the foods that they offer. It was a good decision, the food was delicious. A little noisy inside however the outdoor seating was quiet and relaxing. The servers and staff were very friendly, we will definitely return."

  • "Had lunch Saturday with my wife and another couple. The waitress (April?) was friendly and attentive. I enjoyed my Russian River Reuben and my wife enjoyed the corn chowder and lobster salad. Our friends enjoyed their lunches. The only mediocre part of the meal was complementary bread served at the beginning -- not bad, just plain."

And while OpenTable accepted the reservation time of 10:00 on a Saturday night, I took the extra step of checking the Napa Tavern web site to confirm they were open at that time. All good. Upon arrival at the restaurant we were greeted with puzzled looks and a "sorry we close at 9:30". When we mentioned that we'd successfully made reservations for 10:00 on OpenTable and that the NT website confirmed they were open until 10:30, the manager's response was...no joke..."Yeaaaahhh. I guess we should fix that". Ya think? Thanks for ruining our birthday dinner plans, Napa Tavern."

  • "This was my second visit to Napa Tavern. I am very glad I gave this place a second chance - as the first time last winter, the service and noise made the evening most unenjoyable. The food was again wonderful, complex flavors, a wide variety of selections! This time the SERVICE was SPECTACULAR. Gabriel took great care of our table, even when we had food allergies, which required a new dish, custom-cooked. I would highly recommend Napa Tavern as a place for cocktails, a nice glass of wine, or an evening with friends and fine food."

  • "We have been to this restaurant several times and it has always had outstanding service and food. Great wine selection and nice ambiance. So I thought it a nice place to celebrate Mother's day. Service was almost non-existent. Had to get up to ask the Maitre'd for a fork. The buffet looked as though someone had walked in bare feet over the food (it was mostly in crumbs). The taste was pretty bad! On top of it an 18% mandatory gratituity was added for reasons unknown! I probably will go back to the restaurant during their normal days but NEVER, NEVER on a Valentines or Mothers day or one of the other days when people normally cluster in restaurants. "

  • "There for brunch on mothers day. The brunch area was in a cramped courtyard. The items were OK quality/taste wise but not variety wise esp for $30. You'd expect waffle station, omelet station etc. But only standard items you'd find at e.g. free hotel breakfast buffets. Sodas and coffee and tea were extra to my surprise. The dessert part was excellent which gets it an extra star. Service was OK. They appeared understaffed. Overall, not what you'd expect for the money and for a special day brunch. The women really liked it b/c of the desserts but overall was disappointing."

  • "This was our first time to Napa Tavern, and we went on Mother's Day. The cooked food was very good. I really enjoyed the breaded fish, crab cakes, and scrambled eggs with cheese and spinach, as well as the salad. Most of the fresh foods we ate were good, but I need to point out a few problems. I took one bite of the cantaloupe, but it tasted like it had not ripened properly and had an odd taste. The pickled ginger for the sushi tasted moldy, so my sushi experience was really unpleasant. Finally, a couple of the grapes my son ate were moldy. I question whether they were even looked at and washed at all."

We ordered 2 appetizers, the fondue was excellent, the filet skew at 19.00 dollars, took a long time coming out, was cold when served, and was very tough which I did tell the waitress, and she said she would tell the chef . I have a lot more to discuss, but thw web site stinks."

  • "When we arrived on time for our reservation the hostess told us they wouldn't seat us at the specific table we had requested and confirmed in advance. She said another group had reserved that area earlier. This spoiled a special surprise that i was planning for my wife and the hostess actually argued with me when I told her that I had a confirmation in writing and by phone that we'd get that specific table. I was ready to cancel the dinner and go elsewhere when Gabriel arrived as our server and saved the day. He was gracious, professional and he even reset things so that we got the table we wanted. The meals were excellent and Gabriel waived the corkage fee on the expensive wine I had brought for our celebration. I'll go back. "

Sent it back and received a new piece that was better, but still not very tender. My wife had the Sea Bass and said that it was very good. I would not order a steak here again."

  • "My family loves this place. It's requested often among all the competition at Westlake and TO Blvds. Nice bar area and lots of wine by the glass. I hop around the menu and enjoy it all. The kid loves the giant hand-tossed pizza from the kid's menu. Mate loves the salad with fresh lobster meat. We always seem to end up with the garlic bleu cheese fries to start. Excellent. Lots of reasonable lunch specials too. We will be back soon. PS - they are very accommodating of our serious food allergy. Refreshing attitude when it can be tough to get people to take it seriously."

  • "We've been here a couple of times and it's always been a pleasant experience. The cocktails are super tasty, though a tad expensive. I had the diver's scallops over parmesan risotta - The risotto was al dente, not mushy, which was always preferred. I had hoped that the scallops would be bigger. My husband had the filet mignon trio and it was GREAT!! We had to wave our server over a couple of times, but overall, everyone on the staff was really nice. We'll definitely go back again!"

  • "I will go back to The Napa Tavern, but it will NOT be on a Saturday night. I loved the food and so did the three others with me (the tapas portion of lamp chops were stellar as well as the meatball appetizer, several of the salads) - but NOTHING else. Robert, our server, was distracted and distant - had to call him over several times for issues with food / service (he had NO sense of humor) and the cocktails were disappointing although selected from special drinks in the menu - one of my guests had to go discuss with the bartender what had been prepared and this was after the third request for our server to correct the error. The cheese cake was huge and delicious, but skip the key lime dessert - not good at all."
