The Mouzon House RestaurantGreat for a quiet, unique dinnerThe menu was varied enough to please several generations. Dinners were delicious and not something you see on every menu. I had the sweet pea risotto and loved it but thought it was overpriced at $22 or $24, when the jambalaya was packed with seafood and not much more $. The water was warm, and should have been cooler, but that was not a big deal. My father asked for his Shrimp Creole to be NOT SPICY, and it was too spicy for him to eat. The kitchen made another one for him, very nicely, but that one was still spicy, although he ate it. My daughter tasted it and didn't think it was spicy, so maybe it was him. The staff was polite and professional but some of the younger staff did that "deer in the headlights" thing when asked a question.6/15/2013 12:00:00 AMAll the food is always soAll the food is always so fresh - all from locally sourced farms/etc .. Amazing every time ... and with they're prix fixe thrusday night menu - it's always hard to stay away on thursday nights! :)6/6/2013 12:00:00 AMWe dined on Friday eveningWe dined on Friday evening and really loved the ambiance. There was a small guitar duet playing jazz that lightly filled the room with beautiful music. The rooms are charming with great artwork to look at while enjoying a lovely meal. There were nice choices and the fish bouilbasse was great. Light and very flavorful.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMSuperiorMoutan House provides a wonderful dining experience. The food is excellent and the service is top notch.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMPerfect for date nightNot a place we can afford on the regular, but a wonderful special night out! Excellent food and charming service!5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMTwice a Year Visitors to the MouzonIf you have no food restrictions and like Louisiana fare, this is the place for you. Every entree we have ever had here has been delicious - memorable. Their entrees tend to be way better than any of their appetizers or tapas, which are average. The menu is ever changing, being seasonal. Sometimes they serve a vegetable terrine that is so yummy, I salivate from the thought of it. This item, disappointingly was not on the menu and I was not interested in a Mushroom Ragout. The setting is quite romantic and it is one of our favorite places to go - even though my hubby and I do not eat pork or shellfish! If we did, how much more we would frequent the Mouzon House!4/16/2013 12:00:00 AMRestaurant is in an old houseRestaurant is in an old house with New Orleans style art and decor. Food was spiced hot but not burning. Lots of flavor. Food is fresh and they feature local supply. We went early on a Tuesday so it was empty and quiet. It was a bit cold but the spicy food made that go away quickly! The Bananas Foster dessert was superb.4/2/2013 12:00:00 AMFirst time at Mouzon HouseFirst time at Mouzon House and will certainly return. The menu is inventive and offers dishes that are unique. The meal was delicious and presented well. Decent wine prices too. we took advantage of the restaurant week menu and again was very flavorful. Desserts were just so-so, but that was probably due to restaurant week i hope. Will also definitely try their Caroline street location3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food, great value. WonderfulGreat food, great value. Wonderful private room for dinner. Mouzon is highly recommended.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMMouzon House is TopsThe restaurant is a gem. The food was great, the staff was attentive without being overbearing and I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Mouzon House. I cannot wait to go back. It was restaurant week but they also had their normal menu and a prix fixe menu. All the choices were fantastic no matter what menu you went with.3/20/2013 12:00:00 AMCozy atmosphere, impecableCozy atmosphere, impecable service and delicious food-what else can you ask for on a snowy winter night?
My Shrimp Creole was perfect, just spicy enough over perfectly cooked rice and my husband loved the BBQ special(pulled pork and kielbasa).3/2/2013 12:00:00 AM
