A word from The Montgomery Inn - Original
When we say our ribs are famous, we mean it. Enjoyed by actors, athletes, and every U.S. President since Gerald Ford, they’re hand-spiced and slow-roasted daily, then finished off on our custom broiler. But Matula’s secret recipe sauce is the real star, made with only the finest California tomatoes and a super-secret blend of all-natural spices. And don’t worry about wearing a bib. It’s a good look.

Our world-famous ribs are definitely a hard act to follow. That’s why we also offer equally out-of-this-world entrées and combos, signature appetizers, soups and salads, and seriously decadent desserts. And if you have little ones who refuse to eat anything that’s not a nugget, children’s menus are available as well.

Whether it’s lunch, dinner, or carryout, there’s always something delicious you’ll want to try. But if you always decide to go with the ribs, we’re fine with that too.

I have eaten at Montgomery Inn numerous times and they are consistently reliable in the food and service quality. I am not from Cincinnati originally, so I don't have the "All Things Cincy Are The Best" gene, but the Montgomery in is very good and I would recommend it to anyone.

Everyone should eat here at least once. I've lived in Cincinnati for 25 years and it's a place for us to go to when we want some of the best ribs in the Midwest. This time, we ventured into several other dishes, all very good. We tried the bbq chicken and the crab cakes. I like how they're doing the wine list--offering a number of bottles of white and red under different price levels--$20, $30, $40. We had a very good Joel Gott Sauvingnon Blanc.

The food was delicious! Brandon, our waiter, was amazing! Very sweet , great personality. Talked with us like we were friends. He's a gem, for sure! The food was good. Not quite as good as we expected though. My husband's brisket was on the dry side. On the menu, the steamed broccoli said it had garlic, salt, and butter. What I was served was plain. It had nothing on it.

This is the first time I've been in the Montgomery Inn Original and the service is not as good as the Boat House, the hostess are not really friendly and they don't actually walk you to the door, the waitress service was regular, she didn't offer us bibs and she took so long to ask us if we need something.

When groups of 5 or 6 are seated at two tables that are pushed together, people always end up at the butt up ends of two. Looks like there should be other tables or options for this size groups. Has happened numerous times.

My husband and I chose Montgomery Inn to share in our 43rd wedding anniversary. It was a good choice. We had no wait time with our 6 PM reservation. Our server took our drink order and gave us time to look over the menu. We ordered the chips and straws for our appetizer, which was more than enough for two people. My husband ordered from the 3 for $30 menu which featured shrimp, ribs and chicken with dessert. I had the pork chop and duck combo with sweet potato. The food was superb and the service was some of the best we've ever had. I would heartily recommend Montgomery Inn to anyone who enjoys a great meal in a wonderful setting. It was well deserving of a 5-star rating.

If you want to go to the best rib joint in each city you visit, don't miss Montgomery Inn. Very friendly informal setting. Good for kids and large parties. Sports on the screen and good bar, but the reason to go is the ribs. Like you can't make them at home! Don't be embarrassed to have a bib tied on.... btw, their AC works great in the summer, bring long sleeves.

My husband & I took our son & his girlfriend to Montgomery Inn as their official Sr Yr College Send-Off. Food was tasty & service was ver good, as expected. I made reservations on Open Table & upon arrival we were asked if we wanted to sit in bar area or dining room. I said "dining room" because I thought it would be quieter so we could have conversation. "Dining room" we were in was very small & there was a VERY LARGE GROUP table nearby who were VERY LOUD. Next time, I will ask if any large group tables are nearby before being seated.

Good service, comfort food that you come to expect from Montgomery Inn. This was a very enjoyable time. If looking for a good lunch, try the trio of sandwiches. Be sure to have the chips - Montgomery inn is known for them. They have a new sauce which has a bit of a kick - YUM! We had a family dinner there - 9 of us including 3 kids. Everyone enjoyed their food.

Ribs are excellent. Other menu items are average. Ordered grilled shrimp (dry and small-"served on bed of spinach" is more like a thin sheet of wilted spinach). Filet mignon and NY Strip were okay. Nothing special. Go for ribs and atmosphere. Waited over 30 minutes for a table and it wasn't crowded. Went on a Wednesday night. As my title suggests, reservation meant nothing for our experience. We were seated in order of arrival.

The food was amazing and every one that came by our table said hello to our 2 year old daughter and treated her like a princess. Great experience and we will definitely be back!

For large groups and fun together, Montgomery Inn is great. The ribs are a Cincinnati tradition and have a well-deserved reputation for good food at a reasonable price. Visitors and natives should definitely not miss this local treat. The ribs are not Memphis or KC or Texas style, but they are good in their own way. This is definitely a great choice for your group or business dinner.

The food was decent. I ordered the filet mignon and the server put it in wrong so they brought a strip steak. The correct steak was delivered well after my family was finished eating their meal without much of an apology. I would have expected at least an apology from the management team, or a discount from the bill. If I am spending $110 on a meal for three, I expect a better experience.

Montgomery Inn feels cheap now. I ordered the mushroom wrap and it was lost in this enormous plate. So, either the plates got bigger or the sandwich smaller. No garnish, no attempt at presentation. I actually think La Rosa's has more elegance than dining at Montgomery Inn. The Ted's Ale is really just Killian's Red, which may be dyed. The sports memorabilia is getting old too. It more haunts the ambiance than adds to it.
