We arrived about 20 minutes early and we were seated at a window table, which my wife loved. The food was excellent. We had the oysters and shrimp for an appetizer and the petit filet and lobster pasta for dinner which were both very good. The food is absolutely wonderful and we appreciate the attentive but not intrusive service. The waitstaff also knows the menu very well and makes excellent recommendations. Service was great and all the waitstaff were friendly and courteous. Food as fantastic and ambiance was very romantic. The scenery was calm and relaxing, service was almost excellent . The steak was very tasty and delicious, also a must try the coconut shrimp . You would not regret going to this restaurant give it a try. We go on certain special occasions(Easter, anniversary)It is very cozy, and food and service is good.Food portions are very small. We were not happy with being hit this time with a mandatory 18% gratuity, however, which we knew nothing about until the meal was over and we received our check. There were only 3 of us in our party. They NEVER did this before and we have gone there for 5 years now. We probably won't be going much anymore due to this. We are financially struggling right now and planned out our budget for this dinner in advance and this pushed us over a good $20. We wrote and complained to the restaurant but haven't heard back.To me,a tip is EARNED,not demanded!3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMIt was a double celebration--MotherIt was a double celebration--Mother's 90th and Easter. Mother loves this restaurant, so we made reservations here. We had expected crowds and tight seating and waiting and none of that happened. We were seated almost immediately on arrival. The reservation system moved people through their dinners without rushing or crowding. The menu was festive, and the presentation of the delicious food was outstanding. We arrived a few minutes early and table was ready. Right next to the window so my mom could gaze at the water. This was our 1st holiday out after the sudden death of my father in January. Food was fabulous. Arlo, our waiter, made it a very enjoyable meal and was so kind to my mom. We arrived a little early for our reservations and were seated promptly. The luncheon menu included soup or salad, entree and a dessert. Our party had 3 different salads and a shrimp bisque. All of us loved the 1st course. The selection of entree's was large. Lamb, Prime Rib, Country ham, several fish dinners and pork plates. We had 4 different dinners and we all loved them. The Prime Rib was cooked to perfection and actually tasted great along with being fork tender. The pork, steak and lamb dishes also looked great and they said was cooked perfectly. The dessert menu had 6-8 items on it but most of choose the "Apfel Strudle" which was tasty and decadent.
