The Mill at Spring Lake HeightsThe Prixe fixe is the reasonWe discovered The Mill last Fall during a few days in Spring Lake. You can see my review here. We liked the good value of the 3 course price fixe menu. We ordered similar dishes to last year but were told the chef changed last October. The HUGE pork chop was both salty and had a sauce that was way too heavy. The fried calimari lacked flavor as did the mac & cheese. The desserets were great. I missed the raisin nut bread (was told they changed bakers). The view of the lake is pretty and our server Phil was knowledgable about menu. The night we were there (a Wednesday) all bottels of wine were 1/2 price which made some very fairly priced.We might go back but we aren't running next time.6/12/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Local RestaurantLoved the outdoor lake view. Service was professional and very good. Key lime pie slice was very skimpy. The wonderful service started as soon as we gave our keys to valet. The crab cakes were delicious, steak cooked to perfection and shrimp with grits scrumptious. Also, very nice, reasonably priced wine selection. Our entire evening was a delight!5/24/2013 12:00:00 AMOur Anniversary dinner....We were celebrating our 44th wedding Anniversary at The Mill ~ as we have in the last few years, as always ~ the service, food and ambience was fantastic. I had the Lobster Bisque soup as did my husband, I ordered the 2 lb. lobster, it was great, my husband ordered the scallops, he also liked his entree. I'm afraid there was no room for dessert. The service was top notch and our weather was excellent, friendly and helpful. Everyone enjoyed their meals, which were prepared beautifully and deliciously. We would highly recommend the Mill

I liked the menu where starters, entree and dessert were all combined. i am not a heavy eater and usually have to take home half my order. This option was very good and i would recommend it again to friends. Service was well done also.

The staff is so friendly and enjoyable, and the food is incredible. We heard so much about the cheesesteak but in the end were disappointed with it. It wasn't fresh and came out dry. The appetizers were excellent. One was the salad that was fresh, crisp and tasty. It was well presented and plentiful. A complimentary cocktail was was very welcome and unlimited coffee too. We were both very impressed. The food was great, the tables are generously spaced out, so the noise level is very reasonable, and our waitress was excellent. I also enjoyed the slow, relaxing pace of the evening. Never felt rushed. We arrived at 7, and finished dessert around 9:45. If you're in a hurry, this probably isn't the place for you.
It is fancy (i.e. pricey), but about what I expected it to be (dinner for 2, with appetizer, dessert, and a bottle of wine came to about $150, before tip).
