A word from The Metropolitan Grill
The moment you step into the Metropolitan Grill, you know you have entered a classic steakhouse. Guests enter through tall mahogany doors to be greeted by tuxedo clad Maitre D’s. Cuts of beef are showcased in a glass display in the front entryway. Framed photographs of celebrities, sports heroes and local politicians, all frequent visitors to The Met, line the walls.

At the Metropolitan Grill, the focus is on the Prime beef, American and Japanese Wagyu. Steaks are seared over the high heat of the “Iron Wood of the World,” imported mesquite charcoal, ensuring the most tender, juicy steaks available. Metropolitan Grill Chefs personally select each cut that is served to guests.

The Metropolitan Grill’s award-winning wine list showcases the definitive steakhouse selection of premium West Coast red wines, with special emphasis on Cabernets, Merlots and Meritage.

I visit Seattle once a year and the perfect end to the trip is a visit to the restaurant. The atmosdphere, food, wine and service makes for a perfect evening. The server who served me last year did so again this year and I like that continuity. Many thanks for a great night and I look forward to seeing you again next year.

Simply put, when you eat at the Met, you get what you pay for. Every dish will be the best thing you've ever tasted. The service will be the best you'll ever have. If you haven't gone, make sure you do at least once. Mind you it is not a cheap place. Expect to pay about $60/steak (with side dish). Drinks are $7-12 each. With tip, i paid $350 for four adult to eat with a drink or two. Totally worth it.

My last visit to the MG was in 1996. You had the best steak in Seattle then, and I am happy to report the best steak in town still (except for price, of course). I look forward to returning sooner next time.

Impeccable service and amazing food. I very much appreciated that they bent over backwards to accommodate my dietary restrictions. Our waiter was friendly and on top of everything I really wish I had gotten his name as he was really good. We had the prime rib and it was perfect. Cut like butter. We tried the caramel bacon (AMAZING) and afterwards we nearly had to be rolled up the hill to our hotel. I loved the gleaming wood and beautiful light fixtures, I know some folks have said the restaurant is looking dated but I didn't see that, I'd hate to have someone remodel the charm out of it.

Took my friend to the Metropolitan for a pregame brunch. Wanted to have a special day & she had never been there. Everything was excellent. We arrived a half hour prior to our reservation & the staff accommodated us & gave us a table right away. The walk to the game was easy. We will most likely return for dinner in the near future. A nice option for pre-Seahawk festivities.

This is a great restaurant. Fantastic steaks and also nice selection of seafood and other choices. Option to add Crab or Lobster to your steak and a reduced price. Really nice selection of side dishes. When we visited, I ordered Buffalo tenderloin and my son had rib eye steak, and we split order of crab legs and a side of lobster macaroni & cheese. Steaks were cooked perfectly, and everything was very tasty. Wine list is deep, with unique selections as well as some reasonable value choices. Only challenge we had was our table for 2 was too small for our order (wine, entrees, side dishes) - the tables and booths for larger groups or much roomier. On our next visit, we ask for larger table so we aren't cramped and playing Tetrus with dishes.

A wonderful experience overall for celebrating a special occasion. My husband and I felt very well taken care of in both service and food quality. Filet mignon, rib eye, roasted root veggies and mashed potatoes were all delicious. The server was observant and attentive and brought us a creme brulee on the house to help us celebrate our anniversary--a nice touch! The ambiance had a fancy, historical, genuine steakhouse feel without the stuffiness or pretentiousness. A reservation is recommended as the restaurant and bar was both packed on a Friday evening. Thanks Metropolitan Grill--you are our favorite steakhouse in the Seattle area!

My husband I had a great night out for our anniversary dinner here. The food was really good maybe not worth the price though. We both ordered steak as they advertise the best steak in town. The steaks were good but I was expecting outstanding considering. The restaurant was very nice, reminiscent of 1940's architecture. We were seated in a large private booth with curtains for privacy if we chose (we didn't). Our server was very nice and personable however she was a little slow getting our courses to us. This could have been a kitchen problem though as the place was full even on a Tues night. Our server did provide a free cream brûlée for us which was very nice and delicious. $200 for 2 people will keep this as a special occasion only.

I love the Metropolitan Grill, but the past two times my steak had been overcooked. This time it happened again, so my guess is that the house style for "Pittsburgh Rare" is a half step up from rare as the center was red and warm each time. Their menu should offer "blue" as a temperature, as Ulrich took that as a temp and the steak came back perfectly. Also, the wine list is exceptional and the desserts (Cherries Jubillee) were awesome!

Everything is always wonderful at this restaurant. Perfect place for a special night. Great service by James. Also, kudos to the guy (sorry I can not remember you name) who carved and presented the Chateaubriand and Bananas Foster. We all had a great evening. Fire in the hole did make another diner jump out of his seat. We ALL got a smile out of that including him. Thanks for all your great work.

All in all a nice dining experience. A couple things, we weren't finished with out salads an appetizer when they brought out main course. Then the rib eye was grisly, we were going to 5th ave Theatre, and didn't have enough time to send back. But our peach salad and the caramel bacon was delicious. Our waitress was fun and helpful.

Too many things to say about service. The only two positives were the greeting we received from the hostess and the busboy who cleared the table. Our waiter was extremely abrupt and I would even go so far to say rude. Food was ok, but nothing special to warrant the high prices. Personally I would say it is a place that people go to be seen (we will definitely not be returning).

Went for anniversary celebrations with another couple. I am not a steak eater but everyone else is. I thought I was taking one for the team until I tried my meal. The steakhouse chicken is so yummy. The rest of the group had steak. My husband said it was the best steak he has ever had. He's already trying to think of reasons to go back to celebrate 😊. So much food. The waiter was so friendly and helpful. He was awesome. They brought us out two desserts that were on the house for our special occasion. Both were delicious. It's spendy by our definition but absolutely worth every penny not one person left hungry. Great place.

My favorite restaurant and I got served the worst steak I have had since boot camp. It looked and tasted like it came from Denny's or Sizzler's. And I am not being melodramatic .I ordered a 16oz NY. It was about 3/8" thick and tough and under done. Wanted med rare, got rare. Do not know if I'll ever go back. At those prices I expect great steaks, not Denny's steaks.
