A word from The Metropolitan Grill
The moment you step into the Metropolitan Grill, you know you have entered a classic steakhouse. Guests enter through tall mahogany doors to be greeted by tuxedo clad Maitre D’s. Cuts of beef are showcased in a glass display in the front entryway. Framed photographs of celebrities, sports heroes and local politicians, all frequent visitors to The Met, line the walls.

At the Metropolitan Grill, the focus is on the Prime beef, American and Japanese Wagyu. Steaks are seared over the high heat of the “Iron Wood of the World,” imported mesquite charcoal, ensuring the most tender, juicy steaks available. Metropolitan Grill Chefs personally select each cut that is served to guests.

The Metropolitan Grill’s award-winning wine list showcases the definitive steakhouse selection of premium West Coast red wines, with special emphasis on Cabernets, Merlots and Meritage.

We enjoyed our drinks and wonderful dinner together. The food was very tasty and hot. We were so full, there wasn't any room for desert:( We would of stayed for another glass of wine, but it became very loud and too much banging of dishes and glasses.

We enjoyed our meal. Pass on the Japanese filet and go with the regular filet. The haselnut brie was great by itself, but paired with grill burned bread not so much. The cream spinach was a great side choice, but pass on the mostly fat Carmel bacon and the potato cakes are just plain hash browns. The white chocolate coconut cake was by far the best we ever had, a must try for everyone.

We had a wonderful time. But, unfortunately somebody messed up our steaks and got them wrong... and when your paying $62 for a tiny filet (wagyu) I really wanted my steak Rare and I got Medium.. and my guest had the rare, and ended up only eating the outside. and very expensive piece of meat to throw in the garbage.

We took my Mom here to celebrate her 81st Birthday. The food, with the exception of the Calamari starter, was absolutely excellent. The steaks were out of this world! The Met has, without a doubt, the best steaks in town. We were here on a Tuesday night, there wasn't an empty table to be found. We'll be back again !

Quite pleased they honored a request for a "quiet" table as two of my guests were HOH. All in all a good experience, still a stellar restaurant. The waiter was especially accommodating and as my quests were visitors to Seattle took the time to explain the dishes and was quite patient with some unusual questions.

Spending the weekend in Seattle and was searching for a great steak house and my wife and i stumbled upon this gem. Our server Todd was OUTSTANDING. I got the 6oz Wagyu, Phenomenal! And she got the NY stripe, which was also very well prepared! The wine list was very diverse with a great selection! I would definitely return for a second dining experience.

Tried the 6 oz. ohmi beef filet. It was off the charts. I have never had beef that tender. The flavour was amazing. There was no comparison to the Wagyu-Black Angus filet that my wife had. The Bananas Foster were amazing, I lapsed into a diabetic coma after eating them.

Simply put, when you eat at the Met, you get what you pay for. Every dish will be the best thing you've ever tasted. The service will be the best you'll ever have. If you haven't gone, make sure you do at least once. Mind you it is not a cheap place. Expect to pay about $60/steak (with side dish). Drinks are $7-12 each. With tip, i paid $350 for four adult to eat with a drink or two. Totally worth it.

Impeccable service and amazing food. I very much appreciated that they bent over backwards to accommodate my dietary restrictions. Our waiter was friendly and on top of everything I really wish I had gotten his name as he was really good. We had the prime rib and it was perfect. Cut like butter. We tried the caramel bacon (AMAZING) and afterwards we nearly had to be rolled up the hill to our hotel. I loved the gleaming wood and beautiful light fixtures, I know some folks have said the restaurant is looking dated but I didn't see that, I'd hate to have someone remodel the charm out of it.

This is a great restaurant. Fantastic steaks and also nice selection of seafood and other choices. Option to add Crab or Lobster to your steak and a reduced price. Really nice selection of side dishes. When we visited, I ordered Buffalo tenderloin and my son had rib eye steak, and we split order of crab legs and a side of lobster macaroni & cheese. Steaks were cooked perfectly, and everything was very tasty. Wine list is deep, with unique selections as well as some reasonable value choices. Only challenge we had was our table for 2 was too small for our order (wine, entrees, side dishes) - the tables and booths for larger groups or much roomier. On our next visit, we ask for larger table so we aren't cramped and playing Tetrus with dishes.

A wonderful experience overall for celebrating a special occasion. My husband and I felt very well taken care of in both service and food quality. Filet mignon, rib eye, roasted root veggies and mashed potatoes were all delicious. The server was observant and attentive and brought us a creme brulee on the house to help us celebrate our anniversary--a nice touch! The ambiance had a fancy, historical, genuine steakhouse feel without the stuffiness or pretentiousness. A reservation is recommended as the restaurant and bar was both packed on a Friday evening. Thanks Metropolitan Grill--you are our favorite steakhouse in the Seattle area!
