A word from The Metropolitan Grill
The moment you step into the Metropolitan Grill, you know you have entered a classic steakhouse. Guests enter through tall mahogany doors to be greeted by tuxedo clad Maitre D’s. Cuts of beef are showcased in a glass display in the front entryway. Framed photographs of celebrities, sports heroes and local politicians, all frequent visitors to The Met, line the walls. At the Metropolitan Grill, the focus is on the Prime beef, American and Japanese Wagyu. Steaks are seared over the high heat of the “Iron Wood of the World,” imported mesquite charcoal, ensuring the most tender, juicy steaks available. Metropolitan Grill Chefs personally select each cut that is served to guests.   • "This trip to the Met, my wife and I asked to share the smaller tenderloin, as the full size steak is about twice as much steak as we each normally eat. The resturant is very accomodating of this type of request and duplicates all the sides for each of us on our own plate. This was perfect for us. The steak was cook a perfect med rare as we each ordered. They cut the steak in half, berfor thy cook it, so it has a nice presentation, done on all sides. Air conditining was too brisk for us at our first table, but they quickly relocated the 5 of us when we complained. We started our visit at the bar, and would have been quite happy to eat our dinner there."

Meat was very good and quantities standard US size (we were two and shared one appetizer + one entrée and side + one desert). The desert would have been better to be smaller and nicer. It was just a huge amount of very sweet short cake. As overall we enjoyed alot the visit to The Met and would recommend it."

  • "We were a party of 5 and expecting an exceptional meal. We were all very disappointed. Appetizers were the best part of the dining experience. Salads were drenched in dressing. Steaks were average; too salty and without flavor! Mushroom encrusted tenderloin was bland. Halibut and sauce were also lacking flavor and served lukewarm. Pork chops was the best entree served at our table. Side veggies were over cooked. Strawberry shortcake mediocre but a huge portion. With alcohol and tip our bill was $180 per person. We expect an outstanding meal for that expense. So surprising this restaurant missed the mark on so many items. Recommend Happy Hour only!"

I had the New York Peppercorn, cut of the steak was unimpressive and tough, the peppercorn sauce was light and the scampi tasted like they had been sitting in bleach. My son's meal, prime rib was outstanding as well as our Caesar salads."

  • "Absolutely incredible experience my girlfriend and I were first timers there and they treated us with amazing hospitality our server Aaron was great he knew everything from the back of his hand and to top it off what really blew us away was that they gave us a free crème brulé compliments of the Metropolitan greeted us a happy anniversary when I mentioned it was our anniversary on the reservation I was not expecting that, that's what I call great hospitality and going above and beyond for a restaurant to treat us the way they did will be coming back and letting my friends and family know of our experience!"

  • "The waitstaff was solicitous, knowledgeable about the food offerings and stayed aware of our dining status so we never sat around wondering "where is our waiter?". He missed our comment that I was allergic to mushrooms, which resulted in a steak re-do as the au jus has mushrooms in it. He apologized & brought me a pair of crab nibbles so that I wouldn't be without food while I waited and my partner ate. I don't eat seafood, and the waiter just presumed, but I still thought it was fantastic that he thought about it and brought them over (my partner enjoyed them and pronounced them very good). Our food was wonderful and was by far the best dinner we've had so far in a Seattle foodscape that has been fairly disappointing. Highly recommend!"

  • "Though more expensive than our typical restaurants, the Metropolitan Grill was a fantastic place for our anniversary. I set up reservations online and was pleased from the moment I stepped through the door. We showed up early and were able to be seated right away. The ambiance reminded us greatly of the Frank Sinatra era and was very relaxing. They carved our meat right at the table and it was perfectly cooked (old school temps). At the end, they brought us out a complementary Creme Brulee. The staff was more than friendly. They stepped out of the way for you and made you feel like nobility. All in all, it was a wonderful experience and a great time. We definitely will be going there again."

  • "I've been here countless times for lunch, and it's always been good. This past visit was no exception, but one thing to note: the wait staff did not inform us of the price of the specials, and I didn't think they'd be too much out of the ordinary (I've ordered specials here before). But, my friend ordered the Copper River Salmon, which was very expensive. Delicious, but spendy. Just be forewarned. Other than that, another great lunch at the Met."

The bar is authentic and fabulous, and just the place to have a drink and share some fresh Oysters!!! Dinner .... was incredible, perfectly prepared steaks, and we topped the evening off with cherries jubilee, prepared tableside!! Wow! What a night. Fabulous Food, and an extraordinary experience."

  • "I have mutiple reasons to return to Seattle. If you got rid of them all, I would come back just for this restaurant. They have a great selection of premium steak. They are the first restaurant I found Iberico pork. The staff is helpful and quite attentive. More importantly, my wife and kids loved the Met. The place looks stiff and formal at first glance, then you find how warm the folks are."

  • "This was a very nice steak house with tremendous food. The Hybrid beef was phenomenal. Our server was great, very involved and enthusiastic, but not over the top. The atmosphere was a bit "close" (we were right on top of our neighbors) and loud for our tastes but it wasn't bad. I would have preferred a more intimate setting. Overall, great meal."

  • "My husband used to travel to Seattle and enjoyed the Met, so we had high expectations. The Almond Scallops were perfectly cooked and seasoned. We shared a yummy Wedge Salad. For supper, we ordered the Chateaubriand (24oz for 2) - medium rare. It came with baked potato, baked tomato and mushrooms, and added a side of creamed spinach and lobster mac & cheese. The steak was overcooked to our taste. The creamed spinach would be more aptly described as "au gratin," as the concoction bore no resemblance to the classic. The mac & cheese, while tasty, would have served us as an entree. We were VERY disappointed that our waiter, while VERY friendly, allowed us to order so MUCH food. Most expensive and least favorite meal in 10 day vacation."

  • "We returned to Seattle and remembered eating at the Metropolitan Grill from 7 years or so ago and really enjoying it - they did not disappoint! We had their salmon (I know, no steak at a steakhouse!) and it was the best we'd had - cooked perfectly. Loaded baked potato on one and their tasty roasted root vegetables on the other. The only item that was a little off was the Ceasar - good but not as flavorful as we'd remembered. The waiter was great - stopped by just at the right moments and the sommelier was very knowledgeable and shared his knowledge on the local Washington wine. Will definitely return the next time we are in town."

  • "This place may be great for power lunches and red-meat junkies, but the menu and setting seem rather dated in comparison to most upscale eateries. If the "1950's traditional steakhouse" is the look they're striving for, at least do that right and clean the place up, hiding wiring and improving the windows and entrance. The wine selection is outstanding, as is the beef selection, but if you're not looking to drop a wad on rarefied beef, don't bother, there are too many other good options in this town."
