A word from The Metropolitan Grill
The moment you step into the Metropolitan Grill, you know you have entered a classic steakhouse. Guests enter through tall mahogany doors to be greeted by tuxedo clad Maitre D’s. Cuts of beef are showcased in a glass display in the front entryway. Framed photographs of celebrities, sports heroes and local politicians, all frequent visitors to The Met, line the walls. At the Metropolitan Grill, the focus is on the Prime beef, American and Japanese Wagyu. Steaks are seared over the high heat of the “Iron Wood of the World,” imported mesquite charcoal, ensuring the most tender, juicy steaks available. Metropolitan Grill Chefs personally select each cut that is served to guests.   • "My wife and I celebrated our anniversary. This was our first visit to the Metropolitan Grill. I have heard so many great reviews from friends about the steaks and overall dining experience. We were not disappointed at all. The steaks were delicious. The lobster mac and cheese was amazing. The Chocolate Lava cake melted in our mouths. And because it was our anniversary our waiter surprised us with the Burnt Cream dessert which was completely unexpected very enjoyable. I was also very pleased with my Old Fashioned drink. One of the best if not the best Old Fashions made in Seattle! Thank you so much for a wonderful experience!"

Service was inexcuable for a restaurant of this cailber. The restaurant did not appear overly busy there were a few empty tables. We have been there before several times and had not experienced this so hopefully it was an isolated event."

Was offended as we were lead to the back of the restaurant with plenty of seating in the main portion, but after 30 mins or so I was glad we were in the back. It became a mad house in minutes. The food was excellent (crab cake were just okay probably won't get that again, the Dungeness crab was the best I have ever had period. The Waygu steaks outstanding. I didn't like that it was ALL ala carte. My thoughts are towards the sides. Add them to the meal so I can decided if I want to buy more next time. I missed out on the mushrooms. The silver lining the waiter gave my girlfriend Creme Brule w/candle for her birthday. We got the Bananas Foster tho. We really like the Met and will return"

  • "Dined here twice within a month. First time the rolls were rock hard, but we had a friendly server. The prime ribs we ordered were good. The second time we had dinner here, our server barely said a word to us and our prime rib was mostly gristle. He bought a smaller replacement, but still not great. I would highly recommend the citrus mojito (non alcoholic), the lobster mac and cheese, and the portabello mignon. The chicken dish was okay. If you are going for steak, this place is hit and miss."

  • "Our party of 5, and were able to get a back corner table. This was wonderful,allowing all in our party to hear. I ordered the prime rib and it was chewy and tasteless. My husband ordered the halibut, and he said the same. I ordered my salad with a "little dressing", but found it drowned in dressing. I should learn my lesson and remember to ask for the dressing on the side. I also made the mistake of getting the "cheese sauce" on my potato, and I will NOT be making that mistake again! We had the bananas foster for dessert, but the server did not engage with us, and seemed rushed. It was tasty though. For the pluses - my white cosmopolitan was perfection! And our waiter, Roger, was excellent - very attentive and did not rush us."

  • "I was excited to have dinner at The Met. I could not have been more disappointed. I ordered the Steakhouse Chicken. My wife ordered the Blackened Prime Rib. Chicken tasted very much like my Wife's Prime Rib....like nothing. I have never had a piece of meat with so little flavor. The Chicken tasted like it was boiled (and look like it too). My Wife's "blackened" Prime Rib had the same flavor. For a $300 meal....it was not worth it at all. I don't cook and I make more flavorful meals. Save you money ant time. Go to Jak's in Issaquah. the meals are 100% better and 200% cheaper."

That word is content. I was content, when I left The Metropolitan Grill. The food from the oysters on the half shell, to the just perfect ribeye, was the best . Our server/barman, Tony, was a joy. He was on top of everything and he mixed truly fine cocktails. It takes a really great synchronized work force to make a classic restaurant run smoothly. it was flawless. I highly recommend The Metropolitan Grille to anyone who truly appreciates a fine cut of meat cooked to perfection. Looking forward to a second appearence!!"

  • "We have been to the Met several times over the years and were really looking forward to a great meal. Unfortunately, all four of us felt the steaks were flavorless and dry. This was especially disappointing because we all had different cuts of meat. I discussed my disappointment with a co-worker on the following work day and she had experienced the same disappointment a year earlier. Your money would be much better spent at Daniel's Broiler in Leschi or Bellevue. There is very little value to be found in a $500.00 dinner experience if the signature menu items leave you wanting."

  • "I am disappointed by our evening. I requested a private, secluded booth for a special event with friends. We were placed on the main entrance pathway exactly where it intersected another main path. It was directly by the bathrooms, the kitchen, and the servers' station. It was not private nor secluded. It was however a booth, but one too small for the 4 of us to sit comfortably, and when food was served it was down right cramped. This is my second disappointing evening at the Met, and while the steaks were good and the servers were polite, I'm not sure I will ever chose to return. For a place with a reputation for Seattle's nicest steak restaurant, I expected better."
