We ate the traditional cheese fondue (excellent), individual salads (small but enjoyable) and chocolate flaming turtle fondue (very good). Service was solid, but not brisk or particularly warm (which is fine). We didn't miss the entree course - would have been too much food.

  • 3 hour dinner....

I've been to this Melting Pot several times over the past 5 years and every time it gets worse. You expect a leisurely dinner at melting pot....but not for it to take 3 hours for cheese, salad & chocolate. In addition to the time spent, the food was just subpar and the service left much to be desired. The management just made excuses and didn't even apologize. To share one highlight--our server came over with our cheese and left the whole tray sitting on the table and walked away to get our drinks (forgetting our waters). When he finally returned over 20 minutes later he had never turned on the burner, so dumped in the wine only then left again!! We sat looking at our cheese for almost 45 minutes debating if it we should make it ourselves!

If I wanted to cook my meal I would have stayed at home. I was under the impression that the food was prepared and then they brought it table side cut up for dipping. Not the case. You instead pay a crazy amount for a few slices of steak that you boil in a broth. Who makes beef stew out of a filet?? NO ONE. I would never think of taking a nice cut of meat... and boiling it. The best part of the meal was the coke. I will never go back.

If you think cooking your own food in fondue pots at your table is too much work, don't go here. If not, you can eat well, and certainly plenty, with the 4-course offering. Many options, although each table has to share the same cheese and dessert fondues, as well as the oil the entrees are cooked in. Not a cheap meal by any means, but enjoyable.

This was another great trip to this location. They really do have the best service at this location and whenever possible I visit here instead of the Framingham location. Ethan was our server and he was personable and funny and all around fantastic. He made the night even more enjoyable with his positive energy. Thank you again Ethan!

My wife and I made a reservation for our anniversary and arrived early as traffic was unpredictable. Although the restaurant appeared empty, the host could not seat us as there were not enough wait staff. We were offered waiting by the front door or in the bar. The bar had no stools, and all (3) of the bar tables were taken by other guests. Meaning my pregnant wife had nowhere to sit down. The bar doesn't even have beer taps, so it's more of a place they keep their alcohol than a legitimate bar. The wait staff was great, but clearly were rushing around to manage too many tables. Salads barely fresh and overdressed. Love the theme (who else does fondue?), but the experience needs a refresh.

This was a restaurant I chose to have my new boyfriend meet my mom for a nice dinner out. This restaurant is the top on my list to go to for a fun dinner. It was my moms first time having fondue and she calls it FUNDUE! It was a great experience and the food was delicious. Our server Jack was hilarious and very knowledgable in giving us great suggestions on the different food and drinks. We had the best time.

Our server was great. The bartender was very pleasant, but slow. She seemed overwhelmed. The hostess staff was rude and unaccomodating of a simple request to add one more person when there was plenty of room. I'm visible pregnant and needed a place to sit. Plenty of empty booths and tables. Bad mismanagement

We really like the MP and go once or twice a yr for special occasions but this time we were disappointed. We are always prepared for a lengthy ordeal as it takes time to cook + enjoy your food, but this visit took almost 4 hours. Too much time between courses. After the salad course the server actually forgot about us...when the dessert course arrived both the cheesecake and red velvet cake were dried out and hard, totally tasteless. Aside from the slow service and the dessert issue everything else was good as usual and the server was very sociable + helpful.

My boyfriend and I came here for our anniversary. The ambiance and setting was very romantic, but the cost of the food and drinks was very pricey and not that great. If we go back it will just be to have the dessert course! Our waitress was very nice and attentive. It was a different experience and I guess that is what you are paying for.

I had a serious craving for cheese fondu and my fav place is closed so we came here. The food was ok. Not terrible but not exactly good either. I like the variety of dippers and the cheese was made right but sadly the cheese itself was lackluster. The dark chocolate fondu was actually Hershey's syrup or something that tasted just like it. Cloyingly sweet with none of the characteristic bitterness of real dark chocolate. The dippers again were pretty good and they brought back extra strawberries and bananas when asked. All in all the experience was good br I can make better fondu at home and probably will in the future.

As always, the food and fondue were delicious. It was a busy night though and while our server was friendly, the service was incredibly slow. We arrived around 5:40 for a 5:30 reservation, with 2 school aged kids, and it took over 45 minutes to place our order and get out drinks. We didn't leave until almost 9pm. I've been there before and it doesn't usually take that long. The kids were starving. And it's not like there's a lot of prep involved....almost all of the food is cooked at your table by either the server or you. I'm not sure what took so long. I was pleased with the food though--at least that was consistent.

The concept is so cool and the great food really backs it up. Every course we had was amazing, and the meat was great quality. We sat at one of the tables that is totally secluded from every other table - it's like in it's own little room - and we both loved it. It was like a private dining experience. The only issue was that our waitress took a little too long every time she left us and we were unable to flag her down because we were in our own little room. Other than that, fantastic food and great experience. I will definitely be back & recommending this to my friends.

  • Why do I keep going back?!
    Lindsey
    Dined on 10/30/2013
Because I LOVE wine, cheese and chocolate. The last 3x's I've gone it has taken OVER 2 and 1/2 hours. Once we were on a schedule and had to be somewhere and told the server "if you could just keep the food coming that would be awesome"--two hours later and we didn't even have chocolate. This time we went for the "Girls Night" and half the party was getting meat. We ordered a second cheese so we could eat it while they were having their entree meats (we ordered it less then 5 minutes after the meat order was placed and before the meat was received) and didn't receive the cheese until they were on their second to last piece of meat. If it took a long time to eat, fine but it's the service that has the timing completely off!!

I've been to this Melting Pot previously & ENJOYED. Sunday eve was a different story w/ the hosts, bar tender, server. Bar tender was more engaged chatting w/coworkers @ 5:30 p.m. while in an empty bar sans me. Server wasn't nearly as skilled as previous servers & the cheese fondue wasn't well prepared or seasoned. The menu is complicated for a group of 8 each of whom had di different needs & the server didn't help. Too bad since I highly recommended it to my friends who hadn't been there previously. Disappointed.

The fondue appetizers were good, but when it came to the food we had filet and chicken. How can you sit and put filet in simmering water? It is a sin to do that to a filet mignon. The restaurant would be better if they cook the filet to your liking and had a fantastic fondue sauce to go with it. I would not go back.

This was really different, the idea of going out to eat is to have someone do the cooking for you. This style of dining does defeat that purpose. It was fun I have to admit but it's not something I would do very often. And despite cooking your own food the prices are a bit steep.

We went as part of the two dine for 49.99 promotion, which is a savings of about $25. Since it included cheese fondue, salad, & the fondue entree, but not dessert, this is the 1st time in a long time we've walked out instead of rolling out! We tried the fiesta cheese fondue. It was delicious, but too spicy for me -it said on the menu that we could choose the heat level, but we didn't get any options. I'm loving being able to choose my own dippers for the entree. The chicken potstickers & spinach & artichoke ravioli are awesome -I order them every time, w/ the third option being a wild card (filet mignon is often the choice). Everything is always very good, but generally expensive, so promotions are worth searching and waiting for.
