Diner Reviews
  • "Our server was GREAT! He was very patient, and accommodating. He made our ladies night awesome... and his drinks were even better :)"

  • "The fondue's and the entree's live up to the price. The service not quite so much. Personally I don't need my waiter/waitress to be overly friendly, but most patrons expect a certain level of service to accompany a certain price level. Waiter was speed reading through the menu, and directions. And even though he knew it was our first time there he didn't offer advice on how best to cook our entree with the bouillons. I guess we could of asked for more suggestions though. Curb appeal and interior decor also left much to be desired for newbies. It was just...OK. Very quiet though. Much more intimate than expected. Enjoyed the privacy of the weeknight."

  • "I come to the Melting Pot at Towson every other week if not every week. The food is outstanding and becomes an activity to partially do things yourself as well so it's fun! The menu is changing and there are always special non-menu items to keep your eyes out for. Whether you go classic swiss alpine or get creative, you just can't go wrong. The manager personally goes around to make sure everything is okay and all the staff is extremely friendly. Our server Katrina but also previous servers such as Cara and Lee (yes I remember them :)) have been absolutely amazing and I hope to see them again. PS - no matter how much you eat, you MUST try the yin and yang martini. Why? Because you're supposed to!"

  • "Server was nice but very, very, slow to check on things. Hair on our dessert.Manager very nice. Harrisburg Melting Pot is better."

  • "On a recent visit to the Melting Pot, my dining companions and I feasted on the endless fondue. For $39, we dined on beef (sirloin, filet mignon), chicken, shrimp, and raviolis as the main entrees. The first course--cheese--included apples, cauliflower, and carrots. Then came our bouillon-based main entrees, accompanied with cut red potatoes, mushrooms, and broccoli. We each received an individual tray (3-4 pieces of each meat, poultry, seafood!). Our waiter was tasked with several tables, but he was consistently and appropriately attentive. For our next round, we chose the items we wanted to sample again. "Sample" is the wrong word, because the second round is not skimpy at all. We finished off with the turtle chocolate dessert! Wow!"

  • "I love going to the Melting Pot. My 5 y-o daughter had a great time trying out the fondues and my partner enjoyed the endless fondue special. Our server was very polite, we didn't want for anything and he's has a sense of humor with kids."

  • "The food was quite flavorful. Nice not to be rushed and enjoyed the environment. Staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. My kids loved the experience. Similar to a Germany dining experience. Highly recommended. Bring your wallet!"

  • "Service was good. Food was delicious. I ordered the French Quarter. The shrimp and chicken were delicious and melt in your mouth tender. The Melting Pot is a fun place to go to enjoy chatting with friends or family while enjoying good food at a very comfortable pace. "

  • "This was my second time at the Melting Pot. The first time, we did the four-course meal of salad, cheese, stock, and chocolate, and it was an okay meal that didn't really deliver the cheese fix I was hoping for. This time, we ordered what we wanted, which was a cheese course, a different cheese course, and a chocolate course. I was afraid the server would be confused or annoyed but she was totally gracious; I think they should promote this as an option. My only complaint about the food was that the veggies were cold, not room temp but out of the fridge. Everything else was delicious, and now I'm really excited to go again."

  • "The food and service at The Melting Pot was great as always. However, I was extremely disappointed in the management team on Saturday evening. Two large groups of pre-teens were dining, and there behavior was completely unacceptable. The children were extremely loud and running. This was enough to ruin the romantic atmosphere. We will think twice before returning."

  • "Recently, I was referred to The Melting Pot for a dinner for 2. Whether you are going out with a girlfriend, spouse or other. The waiter explained the entire dining experience and I truly enjoyed myself. I am not a meat eater and they have enough dishes to suit my needs. I would recommend The Melting Pot to anyone, Meat Lovers, Vegetarians, Etc."

  • "Was a bit loud at 530 seating. There was a large party with children. It was annoying. Parents didn't try and quiet them down. Parents were taking photos with flash. Half my meal I was blind from flash of cameras. It was a date night with my partner. Made it hard to rate it romantic due to party. Food and service was good though."

  • "A good percentage of this country is overweight. And while I understand that you wish to have as many seats as possible for more guests. You should still cater to bigger American. I throughly enjoyed everything we ordered. However I felt like a sardine the entire night. I was wedged in between the seat an the table. Absolutely uncomfortable. Fix this and you have a huge winner! "

  • "Walking into the restaurant I almost thought it wasn't open because the awning was old, dirty and bent. It looked abandoned. Inside it was dark, which isn't a big deal, but there was a slight body odor smell and the decor was old and dingy. The cheese course was good, salad was super small and dessert was good. I wasn't aware ahead of time that the entree came out raw, which wouldn't be a big deal, but you get two fondue forks, so you get two bites of food every few minutes. The vegetables that came for three people were three potato wedges (which never got cooked despite being left in the broth for a good 40 minutes) a few mushroom caps and a few pieces of broccoli. I left disappointed and not understanding what the hype is about."

  • "Depending on which waiter you get, the experience can be wonderful to mediocre. I've noticed the waitresses tend to be more attentive and fast to respond, whereas the waiters tend to forget follow ups and have taken a LOT longer to come back to the table to check up. I've also been there to celebrate three different occasions and the experience can vary greatly. I've had them make a spectacular show for some events and almost completely neglect on another. It is amazing food, but the experience can greatly vary."

  • "I went her for my birthday. I wanted somewhere that we wouldn't be in a rush and could just enjoy each other's company. My 8 year old daughter had a great time. This is pretty much an experience where you cook your own food but it's fun! Portions are a good size and they have many pricing options. The Melting Pot is my all time favorite restaurant and I can't wait to go back!"

  • "Experience was just ok... Think there was a problem with the burner.... Had to wait forever for bouillon to be hit enough to cook, which wasn't the norm from other melting pots I've been too. Even cheese & chocolate was slow to cook. Kids kept running up & down in front of our table. So it was noisy & if was freezing they had the A/C on. It was mid 50's outside & windy, not exactly a heat wave!"

  • "This was a wonderful first for my husband and I. The service was outstanding and the food was equally amazing. For all that haven't been this is a must try!!!"

  • "We were sat in a nice secluded part of the restaurant, did not have another diner near us until 90 minutes into our meal. The experience was good and my wife looked beautiful. When making the reservation it was told to me that the establishment was business casual but was more casual. The fondue experience was nice I think next time we will bring the kids for cheese and chocolate fondue."
    Dined on 3/18/2014
  • "Everything was delicious. Our server was attentive and very pleasant. Even the manager was involved to make sure everyone's experience was great!"

  • "Went to late lunch on a Sunday with my Mother and my daughter. The food experience was delightful. The service was wonderful. We all had a wonderful time. Can't wait to go again!!"

  • "My fiance and I have had top-notch food and service each time we've visited. The cheese fondue starter could be a meal in itself! The salad is always fresh and just the right amount to take the edge off but not fill you up before the main course. For that, we usually choose the "Classic" which gives you an idea of everything they offer - chicken, pork, shrimp, and two types of steak. The Teriyaki sauce is to die for! And the chocolate fondue desert is out of this world (we love the peanut butter/chocolate combo). Amazing food, romantic night out, nice beer and wine selection, and the cocktails are very tasty. The prices are a LITTLE higher than a casual neighborhood restaurant/bar, but I assure you it is worth every penny!"
