Diner Reviews
  • "Walking into the restaurant I almost thought it wasn't open because the awning was old, dirty and bent. It looked abandoned. Inside it was dark, which isn't a big deal, but there was a slight body odor smell and the decor was old and dingy. The cheese course was good, salad was super small and dessert was good. I wasn't aware ahead of time that the entree came out raw, which wouldn't be a big deal, but you get two fondue forks, so you get two bites of food every few minutes. The vegetables that came for three people were three potato wedges (which never got cooked despite being left in the broth for a good 40 minutes) a few mushroom caps and a few pieces of broccoli. I left disappointed and not understanding what the hype is about."

  • "Don't waste your time. Too loud and bright to be intimate/romantic experience. Such a disappointment as other melting pots are amazing."

  • "Depending on which waiter you get, the experience can be wonderful to mediocre. I've noticed the waitresses tend to be more attentive and fast to respond, whereas the waiters tend to forget follow ups and have taken a LOT longer to come back to the table to check up. I've also been there to celebrate three different occasions and the experience can vary greatly. I've had them make a spectacular show for some events and almost completely neglect on another. It is amazing food, but the experience can greatly vary."

  • "I went her for my birthday. I wanted somewhere that we wouldn't be in a rush and could just enjoy each other's company. My 8 year old daughter had a great time. This is pretty much an experience where you cook your own food but it's fun! Portions are a good size and they have many pricing options. The Melting Pot is my all time favorite restaurant and I can't wait to go back!"

  • "Experience was just ok... Think there was a problem with the burner.... Had to wait forever for bouillon to be hit enough to cook, which wasn't the norm from other melting pots I've been too. Even cheese & chocolate was slow to cook. Kids kept running up & down in front of our table. So it was noisy & if was freezing they had the A/C on. It was mid 50's outside & windy, not exactly a heat wave!"

  • "This was a wonderful first for my husband and I. The service was outstanding and the food was equally amazing. For all that haven't been this is a must try!!!"

  • "We were sat in a nice secluded part of the restaurant, did not have another diner near us until 90 minutes into our meal. The experience was good and my wife looked beautiful. When making the reservation it was told to me that the establishment was business casual but was more casual. The fondue experience was nice I think next time we will bring the kids for cheese and chocolate fondue."

  • "Everything was delicious. Our server was attentive and very pleasant. Even the manager was involved to make sure everyone's experience was great!"

  • "A bit pricey considering you cook your own food. The chocolate fondue is delicious. The never open their doors are never on time."

  • "Went to late lunch on a Sunday with my Mother and my daughter. The food experience was delightful. The service was wonderful. We all had a wonderful time. Can't wait to go again!!"

  • "My fiance and I have had top-notch food and service each time we've visited. The cheese fondue starter could be a meal in itself! The salad is always fresh and just the right amount to take the edge off but not fill you up before the main course. For that, we usually choose the "Classic" which gives you an idea of everything they offer - chicken, pork, shrimp, and two types of steak. The Teriyaki sauce is to die for! And the chocolate fondue desert is out of this world (we love the peanut butter/chocolate combo). Amazing food, romantic night out, nice beer and wine selection, and the cocktails are very tasty. The prices are a LITTLE higher than a casual neighborhood restaurant/bar, but I assure you it is worth every penny!"

  • "The food was great, the service wonderful, but the price is a bit much. For the same amount of money, I'd sooner do a restaurant that does my cooking for me. Not the other way around. Good for a once-in-a-while treat, but I won't be a regular, for sure."

  • "Darnell made our dining experience absolutely awesome. Great food & atmosphere"

  • "We have been to this Melting Pot several times. Each time not impressive. Waiters were young and somewhat flip and service was slow. Food was fair. Definitely not kid friendly as the fondue pots are very hot. Expensive for what you get. Would only go here if a family member wanted to try it for a special occasion, but not someplace I will go out of my way to visit again"

  • "A group of 4 of us went to Melting Pot on 2/16 and were lucky enough to have Darnell as our server. He was fantastic! The food was good, but his service was even better. He was knowledgeable about the menu, had good suggestions, and was lots of fun. We had a blast."

  • "The restaurant has been a favorite of ours but it is an expensive evening so we only go there for special occasions. While it was not at all busy, we were seated directly across from a family with a baby that was shrieking throughout our meal. It was jarring, uncomfortable and unwelcome. I am the mother of three and so I understand how difficult it can be to get for a night but I do not understand why we were seated so close to this group when there were plenty of empty tables elsewhere. I finally asked that we be re-seated for the dessert course of our meal and we were - still an unpleasant evening all around."

  • "This is the third time we've eaten at a Melting Pot establishment so far. Twice here in Towsen, and once in Columbia. Every time is amazing. The servers are knowledgeable about the courses they are serving you, always with a smile and with tons of positive energy. Kind and courteous. I asked for a wine suggestion for our dessert, and what he suggested was perfect for our meal. My only complaint is that it was a bit noisey this time around, but we can't blame the staff for that. Two tables near us were just a bit loud, but not unpleasantly so to ruin our meal. Once again, chalk it up to these guys for offering myself and my girlfriend yet another memorable night and romantic meal. Thank you Melting Pot - Towsen."

  • "Loved the 4 course meal special, well worth the price. Food was very good and there were many choices. Service was excellent. One note is that it did take 2.5 hrs to enjoy the whole meal - dessert, so make sure you have the time."

  • "Darnell was a great waiter, very friendly and went out of his way to make my husband a drink that the bartender had never made before. Was a fantastic evening with friends."

  • "Took a friend out for a special occasion dinner, and it was a hit. It was her first experience with fondue and she had a great time. She enjoyed all the options that accompanied the Four Course Fondue menu and savored every bite from the first dip of the cheese course right through the last bite of the Red Velvet Cake In Chocolate with dessert. Our server explained everything about the meal with sufficient detail that we understood all our options and even brought us an extra dish of Green Goddess dressing when we plowed through the first one in record time. All in all a great dining experience."

  • "We went to the Melting Pot for a late Valentines Celebration. We generally enjoy our experience. Food was great! Not crazy about our waiter, but she wasn't terrible. Not impressed with their drink selection or wine list, but if you are going there to enjoy a night out with a big group of friends it would be a great place!"

  • "I understand this is a chain, but this particular one seems to be well run and with a personal approach. The food was delicious (the cookies and cream chocolate was outrageous!), and in general my wife and I had a great time here. It's neither cheap nor fast--but for a special occasion and excellent food, this is exactly the kind of place you want. Well worth a visit."

  • "My girlfriend and I decided to have desert at the Melting Pot. This was her first time there but she really loves chocolate, so i knew she would enjoy the chocolate fondue, which is amazing! They gave us dippers: marshmallows, brownies, strawberries, bananas, and her favorite was the rice krispies treats. They have a few different options of chocolate (milk, white, n dark). They can add things to them or combine them upon your request. I had the cheese fondue and broth options previously and i really enjoyed the experience. I love this place for the relaxed atmosphere, great service, and delicious desert. Its a great place to talk and get to know someone."

  • "nice place but if you are older and do not know about the layout the steps can be a challenge. Too crowded our night to ask to be seated on the first floor. It has three levels in Towson, MD"

  • "We had an excellent, attentive waiter and the food was delicious. It was a bit warm and steamy inside, but that was probably due to all the pots cooking at each table. It was a fun experience and great food."

  • "There's no place better to go to dinner on a cold night than The Melting Pot for a great warm meal. It takes your mind off of the frigid cold when you are more focused on what sauce you are going to try with your entree. Always a great time!"

  • "Four of us went for my birthday & it was restaurant week . We had an excellent server , Hannah who was well formed as well as attentive. Food was good & the communal dining was a throw back to 70's memories When a wine we chose from the list was unavailable the manager offered us other excellent choices with a 25% discount. The owner stopped by to chat It was a nice dining experience"
