The Melting Pot - Thousand OaksCreative culinary experienceBlending and heating your individualized cheese fondue, broths in which to cook meats and chocolate dips for dessert is a fun way to either impress a budding relationship, or impress an out of town client, or just occupy time with tiresome relatives. The process creates its own enjoyment - everyone at each table has a smile on their face!6/14/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways a Fun Evening!Love the Melting Pot for a special occasion! It also provides a relaxing few hours to be able to enjoy the company your are with! Never a bad experience at the Melting Pot!6/12/2013 12:00:00 AMromantic and yummyRomantic for two of you but fun as well. A nice selection of food and dessert. I really enjoyed myself. Excellent service too!6/12/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat dining eventWe'd never been to a Melting Pot restaurant so I was concerned about how it all worked. Our waiter (Andrew) was extremely helpful, engaging with just the right amount of attentiveness. It was much easier to enjoy the dining experience than I had thought it would be. The food was terrific.6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazingAtmosphere, food and service is amazing! This is great restaurant that suits any special occasion.6/4/2013 12:00:00 AMFood was very good and myFood was very good and my grandchildren and I had a very nice time. Only negatives were: 1) The courses were rushed, e.g. the third course was served before we were 1/2 to 3/4 done with our salads and 2) The meals were a bit too pricey for the amount of food served.6/2/2013 12:00:00 AMNo creamer and smaller portionsThis was my first time back at Melting Pot TO since moving to DC six years ago. A few things have changed. I noticed that the side portions for the cheese (veggies, apples and bread) are now served in smaller bowls and are not over flowing as they were before. It also looked like the veggies were cut in smaller pieces as well as the bread. We ordered two decaf coffees with our dessert and the waitress informed us that there was no more creamer. Really? Who has coffee without real creamer and why would a well established restaurant run out of this? It was disappointing. Our server was great and no complaints about her. I'm not sure if Jerry is still the owner there but I would think not because of the poor presentation and lack of creamer.5/30/2013 12:00:00 AMBirthday dinnerWe tried to book our reservation for 8 and were told we had to come down and sign something, which is real stupid. We don't live nearby. We almost just moved on to another restaurant.
We simply booked it as two smaller parties online knowing it isn't that busy.
The menu is way too confusing.
Some portions of real small and grouping them by two or four is confusing. The four of us get a tiny bowl of dipping veggies??
The price is way too high for the novelty of a fondue. $47 is a lot.5/26/2013 12:00:00 AMGood food, great dessert.Good food, great dessert. My only real complaint is that the floor under our table was sticky, like a movie theater. Kind of gross. But the rest of the place seemed very clean.5/23/2013 12:00:00 AMDessertI would highly recommend this place for a late night dessert prior to a movie date night...Very expensive and takes a looong time for a 4 course meal but that is part of the experience5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat good, great fine, greatGreat good, great fine, great service, but pricey.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMVery nice experience as IVery nice experience as I was pleasantly surprised. Food was very nice; service was very good. We will go again particularly with our kids4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMI took my wife to the MeltingI took my wife to the Melting Pot to celebrate her birthday. The food was very good and the service was outstanding. They even left a card wishing her a happy birthday at the table. My only complaint is I ordered a beer from the menu and they were all out. It happens on occasion and is understandable. So I ordered a different one and they didn't have that beer either. Again, overall we enjoyed ourselves and had a great time, but if something's on the menu you should have it in stock.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was our very first visitThis was our very first visit to Melting Pot and we really enjoyed it! Our waiter Sean did an excellent job of explaining and serving us. Great place to pop in for dessert too!4/22/2013 12:00:00 AMWe enjoyed the food, serviceWe enjoyed the food, service and experience immensely. Greg, our waiter, made sure to make our experience comfortable.4/22/2013 12:00:00 AMEverything was delicious.Everything was delicious. It was a nice, leisurely meal.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMWe enjoyed our visit veryWe enjoyed our visit very much, only the couple next to us was extremely loud and this brought down the ambiance just a little.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMservice & food were wonderful.service & food were wonderful. Very friendly. The special that was advertised was confusing in that it was 2 for one on the cheese only, not the dinner. That should have been clarified by the server before I got the bill.4/12/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellence in dining experience!!Our server Greg did a splendid job in service, safety and preparation of the food at the table. The overall staff were friendly and The manager Andrew also greeted us at out table. As a first time guest, I was impressed with the decor and style of the restaurant. The food was excellent having chosen the big night out 4 course menu. From the cheese fondue, to the dessert ( banana foster fondue was awesome with fresh strawberries!!) I definitely recommend this place!!!4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMThe Melting Pot has such aThe Melting Pot has such a wonderful variety on their menu! You can choose individual fondue choices or choose the pre-predetermined 4 course meal! Or if you want to go for just dessert then The Melting Pot is a perfect spot - the dessert alone is stellar! Happy dipping!!3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMLive this place!I'm never disappointed with The Melting Pot! Always good service and food, and you never feel rushed to finish your meal as if they're waiting for you to leave and get the next party seated! I recommend to anyone, except maybe the germaphob since double dipping is a must.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat restaurant! Lived upGreat restaurant! Lived up to what I was hoping for. Great service as well!3/24/2013 12:00:00 AMFun and different experience!First we were seated in a nice private area. The server was very helpful and on top of our needs. We chose the four course dinner with a bottle of wine. Although our server wasn't as familiar with the wine list, he did ask the bar tender for recommendations. As on a previous trip, the only complaint we have is that the wine was not cold and had to be chilled upon ordering it. Unfortunately, this resulted in the wine never really achieving optimum temperature. We loved the Boston Lager Cheese Fondue as well as the dessert fondue. The salads, especially the California Salad, were fabulous. The main course was our least favorite course. After two visits, we will probably just go for salad, cheese fondue and dessert fondue in the future.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AM
