The Melting Pot - SeattleMelting Pot ExperienceMy friend and I loved the atmosphere of this place. It was relaxing and peaceful, especially once you are seated in your own booth. Everyone was friendly and helpful with advice with what we should order. The service was great, every waiter that passed by asked if everything was alright, and even refilled our drinks without us asking! The food portions were perfect, and dessert was the best part. We had the mojo broth and it was the best one indeed; super flavorful and delicious. We are definitely returning to try the other dishes. This restaurant topped off a perfect friday dinner for my friend and I. So we decided The Melting Pot and I loved it! The food was amazing, the wine... to die for! The service, we couldn't have asked for better! We had the 4 course meal, sat there for over 3 hours, enjoyed the time together as just a couple instead of parents for a little while and never once did we feel rushed to get out of the way.

The waiter, I believe his name was Louie, was friendly and very professional at the same time. He took the time to ask if this was our first time and if we were celebrating a special occasion. By the way, I was there with my daughter, girl's night. In addition he thoroughly explained the different courses and named his favorite dishes. We chose the four course dinner so we could try everything. It was more than enough and we definitely made sure we had room for the chocolate fondue.I could not believe how quickly 3hrs went by. It's always fun to try the new fondues and cooking together has a romantic feel. We hadn't been here in awhile but were pleased to see that the 4 course experience (which is definitely the way to go) allows each person to choose their own entree now. We both wanted something different and it was nice that we each got what we wanted! However, going to Melting Pot for our son's 15th birthday was a good choice. They had never done fondue before, so it was an exciting experience, and the menu was varied enough that everyone got something they enjoyed. Great ambience and really good service. The food is always delicious and surprisingly filling, while the service is exactly how one would want it. Not too suffocating but there if anything is needed. The only complaint that I have is that there were table bussers constantly checking on us as if to see if we were done with our food. It was everything I had expected and more. The table for two we had was intimate, and the service was great. We had the full 4 course meal (cheese fondue, salad, entrée fondue and desert). The cheese course could have been a meal in itself, and our server was very entertaining while he was creating the dish at the table. The portions for the entrée's were the perfect size and the sauces for dipping were well paired with the different proteins and vegetables. Deciding to have the desert course was the best decision of the night. We had the yin and yang (white and dark chocolate fondue). We go for the cheese fondue and it's always really good. I noticed they are providing a larger amount of dipping items now than in the past (we used to run out of bread routinely). The advertisements give the impression that there is an abundance of food, more than you could finish. We had the 4 course selection and there were only a couple of potatoes, 4 slices of beef (2 1/2 inches long) and 4 small pieces of lobster. After dessert I felt semi-full, but felt hungry after I went to bed. The flavors and presentation were good, but I do not think it was worth $150.00 for 2 people. A friend told me we could get a really nice dinner at the Canlis for the same price. I was able to schedule for a 10:15pm sitting after a movie and although we were the last patrons in the restaurant we were never made to feel rushed in any way. It was our first time there, and we really enjoyed ourselves. Our waiter was great, informative, and explained everything as he was preparing or bringing out food. The only disappointment was the steak/lobster meal. Spending the max amount on a meal, and only getting 3 small strips of steak was quite disappointing. The classic 4 course and the land/sea that others ordered had way more food. My husband ordered a side of lobster and was charged $15.95, which is fine. But charging $42 for the steak/lobster (we did the 4 course) dinner makes those 3 strips of steak quite expensive.
