Diner Reviews
  • "Everything was good, but it was overpriced. Our service was very good. It was a little too dark, so much so that we could barely read the menu."

  • "In order to really feel satisfied I think just the salad and entree just isn't enough. The salad was so skimpy for the both of us even though we had different ones. Also, the portions are small even with the entree selections. The bill adds up quickly and really there was not much to eat. Our waitress was nice but she made very sure that we were to tip on the full amount of the bill. I had no problem with this but I felt it unnecessary to be so forward. I'm not sure I will be coming back."

  • "We were celebrating one of my best friend Eileen's birthdays so I booked the reservation for the 2 of use. There was a promotion 2 for $59 which gives you appetizer/salad/entrée and dessert/what a deal! Michael was our server, very engaging and attentive. He explained all the courses to us and checked in often to see how we were doing. It was just enough food and all very delicious! The sauces were great too (the gorgonzola was my favorite!), will definitely be back soon! Thanks Melting Pot for a memorable dining experience!"

  • "It was a new experience. Loved everything about the place but the waitress we got. She spoke to quickly and confused us. We were a little lost after she rattled off everything so quickly. Food was good if you like playing with your food and making it yourself. Other than our waitress talking a million miles per minute the rest of the staff and experience was great."

  • "The Melting Pot is one of my favorite spots for romantic, or special occasion dinners. However, thanks to a Groupon purchase I chose to have a casual dinner with my mother on a weekday. Our server, Danielle made on average evening out into a memorable "Ladies Night". She was detailed and attentive without being overbearing. We were provided with exceptional service. As usual the food was above and beyond delicious, especially my person favorite the California Salad which I highly recommend! I should also note that this was my first time to the Rocky River location, as I normally dine in Lyndhurst. However, I plan to return very soon!"

  • "The Melting Pot is a great way to kick off a night of romance. We love it, the booths sit in little nooks for privacy, they had flowers on our table to help us celebrate our anniversary, they brought out a personalized dessert plate. Danielle our server was fantastic and personable without being overbearing. Totally recommend"

  • "For my best friend's birthday I took her to a day of pampering and food! We went to get a manicure and pedicure, then splurged at our favorite make-up store Sephora then headed to The Melting Pot. When we arrived we were greater by a great hostess which seated us right away. When our waiter came he was enthusiastic and very friendly telling us about the menu and his favorites. The whole meal was amazing! There was more than enough food for us and plenty of options. It was not silent which was great because I do not like it when I think our neighbors can hear every conversation I have. I will definitely return for other special occasions or when I am in the mood for some great chocolate fondue!"

  • "We chose went for our anniversary dinner and were not disappointed. Even with our three kids in tow, the dining experience was fun and relaxing. We all enjoyed the novelty of dipping foods into different cheeses and sauces, and dessert was amazing. No true kids meal, but the place isn't really known for being kid-friendly. We ended up having plenty of food to go around with two adult meals and two cheese fondue pots. The service was nice. Our server even brought us a plate of chocolate covered strawberries with sparklers! Prices are a bit steep for food you cook yourself (and it's pretty easy to overcook meat when you're sticking small pieces onto skewers and plunging them into pots of boiling broth), but with a Groupon it was reasonable."

  • "My husband and I went to the Melting pot just because. We had the new tomato pesto cheese fondue, which was fantastic. We ordered the pick your own, which is always good. I ended up buying their cook book because I love their food so much. If only they had carry out where all of the prep work is done..."

  • "The restaurant and server were great. We ordered our dessert and final drinks and then the power went out. The escorted us out without any care to the items we had just purchased. It was sad."

  • "I usually go to dinner at the Melting Pot with my husband for our anniversary.. But this year my husband wanted to take me for my birthday. We had a great time, we bought my granddaughter that has never been to the Melting Pot with us, and we all had great laughs & memories. We will be back in August if not sooner.."

  • "We went for the princess luncheon with the "Frosted" princesses. Unfortunately there was only one princess there (Anna) and apparently Elsa was at the east side location. Great idea, but they fell short in only offering one princess there. The princess that was not there (Elsa) was the one all the girls wanted to see. We have been here for dinner several times before. It is pricey but a fun experience."

  • "The Food was Good The Prices r High for the Fact that you are technically Cooking your Own Food! But They have Great deals on Groupon which definately makes it a place worth trying! The Food Was Pretty Tasty! I believe they put us at a table in the wrong area because everyone else was on the other side of the room and it took a while before we even get water I believe some servers were Leaving and they placed us at a table where the server already Left Someone eventually Came and serviced our table and he was really nie and helpful!!!!"

  • "We came for our anniversary. We had a drink at the bar before our reservations and the bartenders were fantastic. Kelly our server was friendly, knowledgable and prompt. Food and drinks were great. The manager Justin was awesome. He helped with wine selections and stopped by our table several times to make sure everything was fine. Another great experience at the Melting Pot. We will return."

  • "Table service was intermittent. Delays between servings were distracting. Used plates were not cleared from table in a timely manner. Food is way overpriced for portions provided. Recognition of birthday was a nice touch."

  • "We arrived right on time for our reservation and were quickly seated. It took 20+ minutes for a bus boy to bring us water and over 40 minutes for someone to come and take our drink order. They did not have the wine that we ordered in stock. For a meal that inherently takes a long time (since you cook it yourself) we did not get our first round of food/drinks until almost an hour since we sat down. We all sat with empty water for a long time and never got refills. Overall, we had a fun experience but would not go back for a 2+ hour meal with bad service."

  • "Had a groupon & decided last minute to try The Melting Pot. The concept is great! The meals (or different melting pots) are broken down into groups. Cheese, main course, dessert, and a salad is extra. You can purchase each separately or together. The food is expensive and just mediocre. For the price the food should be much better. The service for our evening was great! Our waiter explained everything and was very attentive. Over all a fun way to try something different. It is expensive so I would go with a groupon as you will add other options and maybe drinks. For us it has been accomplished and can be checked off the list of things to do. Fun but not a place I'm rushing to get back to."

  • "Took my gf here for her bday with her friend on June 1st. Waited at host stand for 10 mins before a host showed up. Waited 40 mins to order drinks. Took almost and hour to get those. No manager ever came and asked us if everything was ok. It wasn't btw. The drinks were terrible and watered down and the server who delivered them didn't even know the name of them. Took us 4 hours to have all 4 courses. Asked for a special mixed shot and was told the bartender didn't know how to make anything special. Just straight shots. Never had another server around until it was closing time and then everyone was in ear and eye shot to help all of a sudden. If we weren't servers we would have left half way thru or before the drinks came to table. "

  • "My family went for an 11-year-old's birthday. The kids loved cooking their own food, and the magician was a big hit, too. Far more sophisticated than I expected, Melting Pot is quiet and would be romantic without our kids. Great wine list, excellent food and an extremely knowledgeable and helpful staff. "

  • "We won a "Romance Package" at our church which included a gift certificate for the Melting Pot and an overnight stay at an area hotel. We had the best time with this "romantic weekend". I spoke with Daniel regarding our reservation and gift certificate. Upon arrival we were promptly taken to our table and introduced to the BEST waiter, Sam. Sam was very helpful with explaining the menu and very patient with our special needs (my food allergies and my husband being deaf). We also had the opportunity to have the pleasure of dealing with Justin. Highly recommend this restaurant. We had to drive over 1 1/2 hours to get there but it was worth it! We will be back! The chocolate covered strawberries are to die for (as the saying goes)!"

  • "The food was great and inventive, but the service was exceptionally slow, dinner took 3.5 hours. I also feel like it would be more enjoyable as a romantic dinner for 2, rather than with a group of people. The table that we were sat at had one fondue burner, which became quite crowded with four people digging in. It was definitely a fun experience though, and I would go back again. "

  • "I love the Melting Pot and have dined there several times. My experience this past time was a bit different. In the past I would have given the restaurant five stars. This time, however, the salad did not taste quite as fresh as it did in the past. Previously I would have said that The Melting Pot had the best Caesar Salad I have ever tasted. Their food (other than the salad) was excellent. I had shrimp and salmon and enjoyed my main course thoroughly. The dessert (s'mores chocolate fondue) was also exceptional! The service was excellent aside from the fact that my fork was dirty. When I asked for another one it was also dirty. I would still recommend the melting pot to my friends, despite the fact that my experience was not excellent. "

  • "There was a total of 6 of us for Mother's Day lunch and it was fabulous. The server made us feel a little rushed (talking so fast) but I overlooked that seeming that it was Mother's Day. The kids menu was awesome for my 9 yr. old twins. We all had a wonderful time. I also appreciated the $25 gift certificate that all the mothers were given...WOW!"

  • "Bar was great. From there, it was downhill. I believe that the server thought we were deaf, since she talked so LOUD and FAST!!! I had to have her repeat several thing since I couldn't understand her! Incredible. As for the food, appetizer and dessert were okay, but main entree wasn't. Overspiced chicken and shrimp. Filer was good though. If I go back, I'll stick with the filet and be happy. And for the background music? You've hot to be kidding me!!! Broadway musicals? Lousy jazz? Play something that doesn't compete with the conversations of your patrons, and turn it down! "

  • "We were there celebrating a family birthday and our waitress was very pleasant and the food was all very good. The changing of courses process however, was really slow and we had to wait a long time between courses/additional ingredients."

  • "Everything was fantastic, it would have been a perfect night except the bouillon we had for our meat was very bland and there was almost no flavor. I don't see why I pay 90 dollars for a meal and need to pay for the water to cook the meat and give it the flavor I desire, but it was ruined by a watery vegetable broth. Other than that it was great and I will return and try."

  • "The Melting Pot in Rocky River went above and beyond for my wife's birthday. I emailed ahead of time that it was her birthday and purchased flowers. The flowers were waiting for us in our own private booth. The host and hostess welcomed us with a happy birthday, as did our waiter and many other employees. The private booth was really cool and they even brought out a chocolate-covered strawberry with a sparkler in it. My wife was very impressed with my prior planning, but I was more impressed with the Melting Pot going above and beyond on my wife's special day."

  • "Went to the Melting pot with my husband and another couple. Last time my husband and I were there Todd was out server and he was great. We were lucky enough to have Todd again. He remembered us from our last visit. He remembered how much my husband liked a certain dish and made sure to bring extra of what he liked. He also remembered they were out of sparklers last time we were there and made sure to bring us a dish with sparklers on it. It was my sister in laws first visit and she was very impressed. Amazing food as always- and amazing service! Thanks Todd!"

  • "Took my fiancé there for dinner. Neither of us had been there in years. We had a GREAT time. Had a cozy little table in a back nook. So secluded and romantic. Service was impeccable. Food was decadent. So much! Gooey Swiss cheese. Rich dark chocolate and entrees were very nice. We had a wonderful time. Not a cheap night but for a special occasion definitely worth the four course experience!"
