Diner Reviews
  • "The food and the service was wonderful. Although it was a little pricey, it was worth it. I would definitely recommend this place to my friends going out on dates or for any special occasions."

  • "The Melting Pot is a good special event place, especially when you want to encourage socializing with the people you are dining with. The food tastes good, but it is not nearly up to the quality you'd want for the price you pay. It is basically the fondue version of a Japanese hibachi/steak house. The reason to go and pay so much is more for the experience than for the food, especially if you are going for the full multi-course meal. Going just for the chocolate fondue dessert is a much better option for your money, because while boiled meats and vegetables aren't anything spectacular, dipping various dessert items in melted chocolate definitely is. Tip: for the classic Swiss fondue, ask what else they can use instead of wine."

  • "Had a great time for my wife's birthday. The cheesecake with candle was an added bonus. Our 6 year old son joined us for the first time and he did well with chicken/salmon from the kids menu. Chicken potstickers aren't something I'd get again but the chicken and meat were very good as was the shrimp. The Caesar salad is excellent. The dessert was excellent as usual. The service was excellent. It was an excellent experience."

  • "The server was knowledgeable and very friendly. I wasn't a stranger to Melting Pot, but the newer version (no Big Night, different restaurant decor) was new to me, but everything was explained. The drinks were made well, and the food as always was cooked to perfection (:D). The server even recommended his favorite off the menu dessert which we tried (cookies and cream) which was amazing!"

  • "We visited there for the first time this weekend. My husband and I really enjoyed the whole experience, but especially the cheese and chocolate fondues! What a fun thing to do!"

  • "The Melting Pot continues to provide an ideal setting for romantic celebrations. Request a private booth to obtain a more quiet and remote area great for holding conversation."

  • "First time at the melting pot and I LOVED IT!!! Went for ladies night and we had an amazing time. The experience and service was great. We plan on making this a month thing. $27 for a four course meal...can't beat that! The entrée was alright. If I come back outside of ladies night, I'll skip the food and go straight to the cheese fondue and chocolate deserts!! 😍😍"

  • "The fondue experience was wonderful. My husband and I really enjoyed the cheese & chocolate fondue. We would definitely return for that. We would not return for the entree, however. I was very disappointed with the main course. We didn't think the boiled meat was very tasty."

  • "We enjoyed a lovely date night. The fondue experience was a nice way to deviate from the dinner norm. We enjoyed the idea of a wine flight experience with our 4 course meal, but we were not overly impressed with the actual choice of wines served throughout the dinner. A great pairing takes flavors to a different level, but only one wine hit the mark for us. Otherwise, we had a great evening and the food was, as always, delicious."

  • "This was our third time at the Reston Melting Pot. We took friend who had never been this time but had heard good things about the Melting Pot. . She was not impressed at all ... just like us. We will never return."

  • "A great restaurant for special occasions or if you just want a little something different. It's not just good food but it's fun to cook your own food at the table."

  • "We had a lovely evening. However, I wish there had been a few more kid-friendly food items. My 6-year-old, who isn't very picky, didn't like anything offered because she didn't care for the broth that we cooked the meat in. All of the adults -- and older kids -- thoroughly enjoyed everything!"

  • "I absolutely loved the cheese options but definitely not quite enough quantity provided (plenty of dippers but not enough dip). Was thrilled to have good, well-textured gluten free breads (the website says none available, but the gluten free dippers were tasty, nicely textured, and gave me absolutely NO negative side effects the next day!!). The bouillion portion was very nice and the meats and seafood yummy! The chocolate fondue again was a bit on the skimpy side for 3 people, but yummy things to dip and a nice assortment. My teen liked the marshmellows and rice krispy treats very much and I adored the gluten free brownies to dunk. I have always loved the slow pace and well-timed meals at The Melting Pot. Delicious salads too!"

  • "My fiancee and I ate at the Reston, VA location. Even though I've been to the Melting Pot's Charlotte, NC location, my fiancee had never been to the Melting Pot before. It was just like I remembered it when I went the first time and we had a great time. Our server was awesome and the people at the front taking reservations were very professional. We didn't wait very long at all and we were served in a timely manner. Thank you for all you do and hope to be back again soon."

  • "The Melting Pot has a wide array of selections from vegetarian to meat to seafood. I've been a fan for several years and have tried nearly everything on the menu. I have my favorites, of course, and haven't had anything I haven't liked. Because of the length of time the meal takes, I would not recommend bringing young children here unless they're use to sitting for a couple of hours at a stretch. The wait staff is always outstanding."

  • "The atmosphere is good, but the staff have said the same things so many times it's like the flight attendant that reads the safety instructions- much of what our waiter said was unintelligible. Service was a bit slow, which made a long meal very long. 2 things were forgotten, not a big deal- except for the photo that was supposed to come with the package I purchased- completely forgotten. I brought it up to the hostess. She offered to take out pic in the lobby. We were so tired- there for over 3 hours we didn't want to wait any longer. While my daughter was disappointed, she didn't to wait for a pic in the lobby reminding us how tired we were. While focused on her computer screen, the hostess she would "have a word" with our server."

  • "Our family loves the Melting Pot. It is great for family dinners celebrating birthdays and end of school year good grades. It is also the perfect adults only experience. Service is top notch and the food is to die for! Be sure to come on an empty stomach, you will eat to the level of overstuffed. The food is so good that it is impossible to stop until it is all gone. It is a bit pricey but worth every penny. You have to try it."

  • "Outstanding service, great waiter. Restaurant had both private booths (which is what we had) and larger open areas where there were families having dinner."

  • "We had a party of 6 at the Melting Pot and really had a great time. They brought back the Wisconsin Trio cheese fondue for us and it was so tasty. We had 2 burners for the main meat course; one spicy Mojo and the other mild Coq Au Vin. The Mojo was not hot so spicy but had just that extra fajita like zip. I still wish they would include the up price of the cooking style into the meal price on the menu, but that's just the finance person in me. :-)"

  • "Wonderful evening for the family! Consider 2 entrees for 3 people, especially if you indulge in the cheese fondue and salad, and want to save room for dessert!"

  • "My son picked this restaurant for his birthday dinner. It was a fun experience, the food was good, the service was excellent. Waiters and manager were very friendly. Accommodated our personal diet preferences easily and agreeably. The fondue experience was very enjoyable. Everyone should try it!"

  • "Restaurant price point was high for the food quality. It is a new and different experience but would spend my dining dollars at a traditional style restaurant. I took my Mother and daughter to dinner and bill was $188 which included an inexpensive bottle of wine , $32. For $150 we could have had a much better meal elsewhere."

  • "Went to the Melting Pot for our 8 year anniversary. The staff was very courteous and rather attentive. The only issue I had was that the table was not big enough for all the plates and we seemed to be rushed a bit- we were still eating our salad when they brought out the cheese course."

  • "For a Friday night at 8:00 pm reservation, the place was empty except for a couple of prom groups. We had a table away from others to enjoy my daughter's birthday there. We only had dessert and it was excellent. They brought more than enough plates of food to share. Last year when we went for her birthday they brought 1 plate of fruit, marshmallows, etc to share for 5 people and when we asked if we could get another plate the waitress was rude and wanted to charge us extra. I'm very glad to see that the restaurant has changed. The manager even walked around to each table asking how everything was and if we needed anything. Our waitress, Beth, was very polite and friendly. "

  • "Our 2nd time dining here since they moved from the old location. Everything was great as usual. We have dined at the Melting Pot maybe 15 times over the years, and I don't think we've ever had a real complaint of any kind. Highly recommend for a romantic evening for 2, or a fun group night out!"
