After a long 5 years, I asked her where she would like to go and celebrate. She had her choice of anywhere. She chose Melting Pot because she and the kids had been to the one in Tulsa before. I thought great! I have never been there so wasn't sure how it would all turn out. I went to Open Table, made my reservations, and requested a photo of the family before our night was over. When we arrived on a week night, surprisingly it wasn't very busy. We were seated and my wife was given a card that said Congratulations on graduating and passing boards. We will be out of town the actual day, plus we were also celebrating our anniversary so it worked out perfectly. The food was great! Not too heavy but filling. The customer knowledge of the menu and our personal celebration made the experience very welcoming. As soon as I walked in and told the hostess my name, she knew who I was and said, "This is your fist Father's Day, Congratulations!"
I have been in the restaurant/bar business for 10 years and my core belief is people don't go out to eat, they go out for the experience. If they want to eat, they can eat much cheaper at home. The atmosphere was quiet and pleasant. We sat in a little room with another couple but was seperates by a dividing wall. I did feel I bit crammed. I feel that even if we didn't get the roses that the table would have been too small for the amount of plates and courses that were brought out. I like the concept of the place however I felt like I was eating a glorified pot roast. And I still had to cool it. The choices of meat was fun, but for the price I could have gotten more for less elsewhere. I did like the flavors very much though. Nice contrast with the variety meats and seasoning.
