Diner Reviews
  • "This was my second dining experience at The Melting Pot. Had the 4 course meal and tried all different items. I love eating here. It's a unique dining experience than any other I've had before. I've had drinks in the bar and dinner with a friend and my fiance. It's been a great experience each time. Service was good as well. I will definitely be returning and would recommend The Melting Pot to others. I wish there was a Melting Pot closer to me. Currently it's a 8 hour drive."

  • "Food was great. Restaurant did a nice job doing special things to give us what we wanted in switching out some of the sweet stuff for more fruit. Was much appreciated. Adding on more was easy. Wine list is unbelievable!"

  • "It was me and my gfs 9 month we were welcomed with great service and amazing food thank you soooo much"

  • "we've been to the Melting pot before but I'll think twice before going again. Our waiter was overstretched and our dinner took 3 hours. The HVAC system seemed to be overworked too and it was about 90 degrees in there (Friday April 11). Very uncomfortable. Also, six of us were crammed in a booth without enough room. Disappointing but expensive evening."

  • "The Melting Pot gives foodies a great opportunity to enjoy Fondue to the fullest. Definitely do the four course fondue experience the first time - and then pick and choose the next time around. Join the Fondue club too - gives little perks here and there."

  • "My husband and I were engaged at the Littleton, CO location and wanted to relive the experience at the Mpls, MN spot now that we have moved back home and have been married one year. I requested a private booth and my request was met with a cozy spot for just us two. I appreciated that besides other guests walking by, no one else was in our sight line so it was very private and made the night so romantic! It was a wonderful experience and our waiter Joe was awesome! The food was amazing, going above & beyond what we remembered from our first visit. It was a great night to celebrate our anniversary and brought back wonderful memories!"

  • "Great food! A relaxing environment. Prepare to spend a couple of hours there. Allows for conversation while you cook your own bites of food. Really fun for a special occasion!"

  • "It is a good thing that dessert is the last bite, it was the only thing that was any good as far as the food goes. Our server was very helpful, she was the only reason I had any enjoyment from the experience. The oil wasn't hot enough, once we got the oil at proper temp, it burnt all the batter that slid off the food because it was not hot. Our food sat on a tray in front of us for what seemed like an eternity, and it looked as if it sat under a heat lamp prior to coming out to our table."

  • "We've been regular Melting Pot visitors (4 times per year) for many years now but have recently noticed some disappointing changes with the menu. Cheesecake needs to be offered with the chocolate fondue course. Sprecher root beer should be standard for all midwest restaurants. Don't import root beer from Texas to the midwest. Sprecher is head-and-shoulders the best. The dinner for two was a very strong menu option that's no longer available. It feels to me that everything that I really liked is being taken off the menu!!!"

  • "The entire experience was an absolute blast and it is something I would definitely try again. My only recommendation would be to incorporate some sort of added air ventilation. It can get pretty toasty in there with all of the burners on and things being melted. For my girlfriend and I it was an absolute blast of an amazing first experience. Amber who was our server we agreed was definitely the best waitress either of us have had at any restaurant. The overall experience was amazing and makes a lunch/dinner a lot more fun and interactive then the traditional sit and wait for food. The food was above and beyond great. We loved the experience and can't wait to get back there again. Thank you to Amber for the great first experience!"

  • "My server was great and the food was fantastic! The only thing i would have changed was the amount of garlic my server put our cheese."

  • "I was overly excited to come here. I had the the the thought this would be the best meal ever. I was a little disappointed. The main course was kind of bland the cheese was amazing. The chocolate was awesome too but the main course was not the best. I would be willing to try again but I think I was thinking it would be the best but it just didn't meet my expectations."

  • "We went there for my daughter's 16th birthday dinner. Lots of fun and our server was great. Very interactive and fun and we really enjoyed the food. The chocolate dessert fondue was great!"

  • "Very overpriced for what we got. We ordered dessert for 4 people. We spent over $40.00 - only dessert - no drinks. We were put in the lounge area, which is a room with no ambiance at all - the huge windows look right into a parking lot, has the bar and a few small tables. It was at one of these small tables where we were put to share our dessert. It was uncomfortable and I felt like because we were just ordering dessert, we were unimportant customers. The restaurant knew I had never been there before, but they didn't seem to care to make a good first impression. I don't feel like I got my money's worth - felt like I wasted my time and money at this place. Won't be back."

  • "Really enjoyed our little cubbie . Gave is privacy. We enjoyed the food and the experience. We enjoyed our server mostly. I lke that she shared her opinion for favorites(I always ask) but she did not leave much room to make your own decision without feeling you might make a mistake. It helped that she said she was opinionated and she acted very playful."

  • "Awesome. Zack, our server was so helpful! Join club fondue...I got chocolate covered strawberries for my birthday. Yum! Just make it easy on yourself...get the 4 course and save room for the chocolate course!"

  • "I took 3 of my friends to lunch for the start of my birthday celebration. The wait staff were very friendly. It was a dining experience every one should try. The food was great. Plan on being there 3 hours. I planned on 2 hours and we waited a bit for our last course to come out. Overall it was a great experience."

  • "I thought I would give them another try. FAIL. It was my birthday, they didn't say happy birthday, make anything special. Our waitress Alex forgot about us, didn't come back to check on our food or drinks. I heard her make a big deal about other people's birthdays. They didn't have my "free" chocolate dipped strawberries, they were all out. Not worth your $."

  • "Overall it was a fun experience. At first it seemed a little slow paced which was a little annoying, but it picked up and was very good food! The dessert part was by far our favorite!!! An awesome waiter suggested it while walking by! Very friendly and helpful service!!"

  • "Pretty entertaining atmosphere, the dessert was especially fun. It is a strange concept, paying to cook your own food, but just different enough that it works. I think experiencing once or twice in your life is well worth it. Not chef prepared food obviously, you are cooking it in broth, and salad was pretty small, I would skip it, but the overall experience was very good."

  • "Wonderful experience in every way. My wife and I celebrated our 5 year anniversary there. Service was excellent. Food was outstanding. Management even stopped by to ask how dinner was and brought out additional vegetables for our particular fondue selections. We highly recommend this restaurant."

  • "Did not understand why the website listed reservations full after 5PM on the day we went, as we got there at 4:30 and stayed for over an hour while the bar was empty and remained that way until we left. Great food, though!"

  • "We love The Melting Pot for the atmosphere and mostly the experience. Where else can you have a two hour meal and enjoy every minute of it?! The food is delicious and let's not start on the chocolate...! Every time we've been to the Minneapolis location our service has been spectacular. I would highly recommend checking this place out. Be prepared to spend some money but I promise it will be well worth it."

  • "My 3rd visit and the chance to share this dining with friends, 3 of them it was their first time. The flavor of all food items is great, distinctive. The presentation, education, and humor of the server contributes to an even better dining experience. Doing the 4 course meal is the best way to enjoy a full experience and the price is right. I like the heightened spices of the New Orleans entrée! Traditional Cheese fondue is flavorful! Broth fondue style is the best of health and bringing out the flavors. Location is very accessible. The surface parking lot across 8th from the restaurant is very affordable for weeknight parking."

  • "This was my second visit to a Melting Pot restaurant and I made different choices this time that I didn't enjoy as much but it was still good food great service. We had 2 adults and 2 children in the group and it was great. The chocolate is by far my favorite part of the whole meal."

  • "We knew little about this restaurant but our daughter had long wanted to visit. First we were surprised by how many people were there on a cold Sunday night--a good sign. Second, we were surprised at how many options there were for dinner. Dinner here is both fun and entertaining since you do the cooking and it becomes a group activity. Certainly it is different from most dining experiences. Nicole was very patient as she guided us through the menu and the various preparations. We would not recommend this restaurant if you are in a hurry. Excellent for special occasions. We look forward to returning and trying different options."

  • "We held a 16 birthday party for four of us. Two picky teenage boys and two adults. We threw caution to the wind and went with the four course dinner experience and had two pots going. Amber was a hoot and very informative as to what we were about to experience. Amber paired a fantastic Moscato with the cooking styles we selected. The food was superb, I was a little worried about the seafood being rubbery but it was chilled just enough to allow a quick cook yet still be firm on the forks. The boys actually ate outside of their comfort Ones and found they actually like things not wrapped in printed paper, like Duck, Mahi Mahi, and parm encrusted pine nuts! Great experience!"

  • "This was my 15 year old sons choice for dinner. It was a wonderful dining experience for the two of us. We have never been to a melting pot, but only heard about them. The cheese was excellent, the steak was great, and the dessert was amazing! Also got chocolate covered strawberries to take home, wow! Will definitely go again."

  • "Everything about our visit to Melting Pot was wonderful. It is a great place to go for a relaxing meal. Come here when you have plenty of time to dine as the many courses can take a while to get through. The dining experience allows for plenty of time to talk with whoever is at your table. The staff was very professional, yet didn't take themselves too seriously. We had a great time!"

  • "Hubby and I went to The Melting Pot on a date. Came across this restaurant while searching the internet for fondue recipes. What a find! Atmosphere was great. Our server, Donny, was a wonderful. The food was excellent! I left feeling full, but not stuffed. We did the Four Course Experience - cheese fondue, salad, entrée and chocolate fondue. My husband has celiac disease and I was very impressed with the number of gluten-free options available to him. We were there about two hours - not because the service was slow, but because the pace of the meal was relaxed. I don't like wine, but my hubby had a sparkling red wine that even I enjoyed. It was over $100 for the two of us, but worth every penny. Definitely would go back again."

  • "We went to the melting pot as a little treat over spring break. It was an experience that I'm glad we did as a family, our kids really enjoyed it, but we probably don't need to go back. The food was good and the service was excellent, but for the price, I don't want to work that hard for my dinner! Probably just a personal preference thing. The dessert fondue was awesome though!"

  • "We went here for a girls dinner out. Happy hour martini's are a good price! The fiesta cheese and turtle chocolate fondue's were both AMAZING! I could have done without the main course. It lacked flavor aside from all of the different dipping sauces that are provided. Our server was witty and sharp and gave great suggestions. I will definately return ... but maybe just for cheese and chocolate!"
