Diner Reviews
  • "Food is as expected at any Fondue place. It used to be better here but has got worse because of poor service. The servers are not trained to be customer friendly. For a $300 dinner, you wouldn't expect the server to feel the restaurant is doing the customer a favor. No smiles, rude straight answers - no fun!"

  • "Such a fun experience that gives you plenty of time to visit with family & friends while enjoying delicious food & drinks!"

  • "I took a party of 7 to the melting pot for a birthday celebration and had a fantastic time. The food was great, the waiter was great and the birthday was a success. The only thing I suggest is that you layer your clothing as it gets hot during the main course when your cooking and the air conditioning wasn't down low enough to make up for that. It is a bit pricey but such a great time."

  • "I had a great time celebrating my birthday here with family. Server Matt was very courteous, efficient, and even stopped to listen to my dad (who can't shut up about his past) on several occasions. After being asked to move tables due to the cooktop being only one temperature, the manager (Rosie) offered to buy our chocolate fondue course, which was a very pleasant surprise to our dining experience. The food is great, because it is customizable to each person, but make sure you and your party can agree on the type of cheese, cooking flavor, and chocolate. Just a warning: it's gonna be hard to decide! Everything is delicious, so whatever you decide, you will not be disappointed. It's also a romantic night out for couples."

  • "My husband and I brought our friends, who were in town visiting, here to celebrate their high school graduation. Everything was wonderful. The food was great and the service was fantastic. Also, everything was very clean. This was our second time eating here and both times were pleasurable experiences. Everyone is friendly and the food is amazing."

  • "The food was delicious. The sauces are tasty and fun to try. They offered to bring out more bread, veggies and strawberries. We took them up on the strawberries for the dark chocolate fondue (heavenly)."

  • "Took my teen daughter here for her birthday and had a great time. If you have 3 people, just get the 4 course meal and that way there is plenty of food and everyone gets their own entree. They had lots of cool-looking cocktails and specials, but I didnt order any. Next time!"

  • "Food was good.We were by tables with kids it was noisy.Temperature unbearable, very hot we were literally sweating.Mentioned it to our server he notified someone it didn't help. There for 3 LONG hours.Server was uncomfortably too close when speaking to us,no personal space every time he came by he would set his hand on my boyfriends shoulder/neck/arm made us very uncomfortable. • "Service is what really makes evenings stand out - food is food, and yes the Melting Pot has great food, but on this particular night, it was Jane and Matt that made all the difference in the world! Ask for them by name and look forward to a great evening."

  • "Would not recommend this restaurant for parties of 6 or more. Service was horrible and gratuity is already included. Food was ok. Nice that they have kids portions. It was a weeknight and not very busy and the service was slow. Restaurant is Expensive and not worth the time or money. "

  • "We love the Melting Pot in general for special occasions and this one works just fine. We would much rather go to this one or the one in La Jolla then the one in San Diego for example as some are just not run to any standard but most are pretty reliable and good and such has been the case for us at this location. We had especially good service this time from our waitress. General advice to people at the Melting Pot, eat more seafood! The seafood is far better in the pot then meat!! Also do the court bouillon not oil. UGH that would completely change your experience and raise a few stars! Take it from a couple going to the pot for over 20 years lol"

  • "There were seven of us in our party, including three children seven and under. Our server was very cordial and attentive and the food was excellent. Even the kids ate all of theirs, a rare event. Everyone had a great time! We received exellent service and our server was "kid friendly" with a good sense of humor."

  • "It was an amazing experience. I have a gluten intolerance and our waitress was so accommodating and knowledgeable about my options. The atmosphere was perfect for my family of 6. We were able to have nice conversations. The Mother Day 4 course meal had delicious, fresh choices for every member of my family. Nice, special occasion restaurant."

  • "It was our first time here and always wanted to try it. We decided to go on our anniversary and we were seated in this cool quiet little booth that made the night so special. Both the hostess and the server were super nice and helpful. The food was great and we decided to do entree and desert for one and it was plenty. We be going again hopefully soon. One tip make sure you have a lot of time the spare bc you will be here for a while "

  • "I took my girlfriend here for a nice Friday night out and had an amazing experience. Ali was our waiter and he really went out of his way to try and make the best experience for us. He was easy to talk to and very knowledgeable about the menu. The food was SO good, noise level was not an issue at all, and even though there were a lot of people, it didn't seem too busy in the least. We had a great time and will definitely be back, most likely requesting Ali as our waiter again"

  • "Endless fondue is the best deal at MP! $38pp for Easter brunch and to have the quality of endless MP fondue was an amazing deal. We will probably continue to celebrate many holidays here in addition to random happy hours and special occasion dinners. The bottomless mimosas had our neighboring tables a little louder than we are used to during our visits, but we got over it. Our server was attentive & incredibly accommodating - didn't over impose. We had a good time interacting with him. I can't believe they got rid of the cheesecake though! Pineapples and blondies? I love fruit, but that cheesecake was essential. I could see a glare from where I was sitting, but I just sat closer inside the booth to avoid it - too bad for bad pictures."

  • "This is our second time being here and the food is great! The manager remembered us and everything! But, this time they forgot to get us our utensils before the food!"

  • "Our daughter is a huge fan and this was our first time. I thought it was overall a fun experience but would not say that the food is particularly noteworthy. I had a sour patch martini which was fun. We did not have the chocolate dessert because we were full from our shared appetizer, salad and individual entree. The biggest negative was the seating. Two of us seared in a small booth with a corner-type arrangement containing the hot plate in the corner of the table left virtually no extra room available on top of the table. We had to reach across the table ro put the skewers into the fondue pot and had to be very cautious about knocking some thing off the table or into the fondue. We would go again but not as a regular place to dine."

  • "We really loved the ability to have so many choices and the fact you were able to cook your own food. The service was great and our waiter was great at explaining everything and was very knowledgeable."

  • "My husband I went here for his birthday. It was his 1st time and my 2nd. He absolutely loved it! We ordered the 4-course meal, and the waiter gave us some great recommendations for our options. We ended up being there for 2 1/2 hours, but enjoyed EVERY minute of it. Don't leave out the dessert fondue, it was incredible. We will go there again, and perhaps order 1 entree between us instead of 2- we were stuffed by the end."

  • "Great general experience. Food was good. The server was exceptionally amazing. Very nice, friendly. The seating area was a bit awkward based on the configuration of the seats/table. I had to twist my body to be able to eat and look/talk to my date."

  • "Well, maybe steak fondue isn't really my thing, they can definitely have more to dip than just carrots broccoli and stale bread(was very stiff) Lobster and Sirloin was good, and the dessert fondue (the real reason to come here) was also delicious. Of course the ambiance, service and the restaurant themselves make for a very good romantic spot (provided your neighbor can keep their voice to a respectable volume) and the scenery as well as good conversation has a tendency to take your attention off the food quality :)"

  • "I like to eat all of the courses but it's too much food so we ordered four course meal for one and shared between two of us. That turned out to be the right amount of food and we got to try all the different courses. Excellent experience and I will come back thanks to that."

  • "My wife and I have been to the melting pot many times in the past and have been talking it up to our friends that have never been. For Christmas they gave us a gift card and for a birthday we gave them one so we could go together. Our expirience as not as good S in the past years. The waiter was not as sociable and did not take the time to explaine the process to our first time guests, the portions have decreased dramaticly yet the price went up. Not the best night even after we really have talked it up and have enjoyed this restraunt many times prior."

  • "The entire experience from top to bottom was deliciously delightful! Our waiter was fantasticly informative, a necessity for the particular type of dining. I would most definitely come back and reccomend to others. If I were to give any constructive criticism it would be that two burners verses one would be a helpful addition. I dont see how this would work well with more than a party of two. All in all beautiful."

  • "We went to The Melting Pot to celebrate my daughter's birthday and my birthday. It was a fun and unique dining experience. The pace of the meal was moderate. We were not rushed, and it allowed us time to talk and visit."

  • "We had the 4 course dinner and a bottle of wine. We ordered the fiesta cheese and really loved it. It was tasty...followed by spinach salad for hubby and he loved the mushroom addition and dressing. I had the house salad and really enjoyed that too. I had the seafood dinner and hubby had steak and seafood. The items were fresh....portions a bit small but with 4 courses....you'd never get thru the dinner with larger courses. We did the mojo cooking method and it was delicious...I am not a big dessert/chocolate fan....but I enjoyed the fresh strawberries and hubby enjoyed the milk chocolate and dipping. Pricey for a night out but for a special occasion....worth it."
