Diner Reviews
  • "Our daughter is a huge fan and this was our first time. I thought it was overall a fun experience but would not say that the food is particularly noteworthy. I had a sour patch martini which was fun. We did not have the chocolate dessert because we were full from our shared appetizer, salad and individual entree. The biggest negative was the seating. Two of us seared in a small booth with a corner-type arrangement containing the hot plate in the corner of the table left virtually no extra room available on top of the table. We had to reach across the table ro put the skewers into the fondue pot and had to be very cautious about knocking some thing off the table or into the fondue. We would go again but not as a regular place to dine."

  • "We really loved the ability to have so many choices and the fact you were able to cook your own food. The service was great and our waiter was great at explaining everything and was very knowledgeable."

  • "My husband I went here for his birthday. It was his 1st time and my 2nd. He absolutely loved it! We ordered the 4-course meal, and the waiter gave us some great recommendations for our options. We ended up being there for 2 1/2 hours, but enjoyed EVERY minute of it. Don't leave out the dessert fondue, it was incredible. We will go there again, and perhaps order 1 entree between us instead of 2- we were stuffed by the end."

  • "Great general experience. Food was good. The server was exceptionally amazing. Very nice, friendly. The seating area was a bit awkward based on the configuration of the seats/table. I had to twist my body to be able to eat and look/talk to my date."

  • "Well, maybe steak fondue isn't really my thing, they can definitely have more to dip than just carrots broccoli and stale bread(was very stiff) Lobster and Sirloin was good, and the dessert fondue (the real reason to come here) was also delicious. Of course the ambiance, service and the restaurant themselves make for a very good romantic spot (provided your neighbor can keep their voice to a respectable volume) and the scenery as well as good conversation has a tendency to take your attention off the food quality :)"

  • "I like to eat all of the courses but it's too much food so we ordered four course meal for one and shared between two of us. That turned out to be the right amount of food and we got to try all the different courses. Excellent experience and I will come back thanks to that."

  • "My wife and I have been to the melting pot many times in the past and have been talking it up to our friends that have never been. For Christmas they gave us a gift card and for a birthday we gave them one so we could go together. Our expirience as not as good S in the past years. The waiter was not as sociable and did not take the time to explaine the process to our first time guests, the portions have decreased dramaticly yet the price went up. Not the best night even after we really have talked it up and have enjoyed this restraunt many times prior."

  • "The entire experience from top to bottom was deliciously delightful! Our waiter was fantasticly informative, a necessity for the particular type of dining. I would most definitely come back and reccomend to others. If I were to give any constructive criticism it would be that two burners verses one would be a helpful addition. I dont see how this would work well with more than a party of two. All in all beautiful."

  • "We went to The Melting Pot to celebrate my daughter's birthday and my birthday. It was a fun and unique dining experience. The pace of the meal was moderate. We were not rushed, and it allowed us time to talk and visit."

  • "We had the 4 course dinner and a bottle of wine. We ordered the fiesta cheese and really loved it. It was tasty...followed by spinach salad for hubby and he loved the mushroom addition and dressing. I had the house salad and really enjoyed that too. I had the seafood dinner and hubby had steak and seafood. The items were fresh....portions a bit small but with 4 courses....you'd never get thru the dinner with larger courses. We did the mojo cooking method and it was delicious...I am not a big dessert/chocolate fan....but I enjoyed the fresh strawberries and hubby enjoyed the milk chocolate and dipping. Pricey for a night out but for a special occasion....worth it."

  • "The food and atmosphere is great as long as you like it noisy. Do not be served by Sergio as he actually chipped off a piece of dried food from a plate, flicked it on the floor and placed the plate down in front of one of us. Very unprofessional and unappetizing!!"

  • "I did not like most of the experience. It was our first time to this restaurant so that could be some of it. I was not impressed with the cheese and meat fondue. I loved my salad though! The dessert fondue was Fantastic! I'm just sad that it took all dinner before I found an enjoyable fondue. It was cozy and interesting at the tables. They all felt pretty private. The service was really great. They explained everything well enough. It really was just the food that was lacking. *exception- the citrus infused pork was really really good. I'd go back for the chocolate fondue."

  • "We enjoyed dining here during OC restaurant week, at the Irvine location. The food was delicious and the lunch portions were just the right size. The server knew a lot about the restaurant and the ingredients. The food was fresh and we enjoyed the experience of cooking it right at our table."

  • "The food here is amazing! Specifically the apps and the desserts are top notch. The shabu style dinner is good but its not the best I've had. Which shouldn't take away from the overall experience being Great! I will definitely be coming back."

  • "I used to live in here in Southern California but I am living in Denver, CO now. I was scrambling, calling places for reservations for a Valentine's Day dinner date with my love.. Luckily Melting Pot had a spot open a day before Valentine's Day! Woo hoo! I reserved a table for us with special notes. They fulfilled everything except covering our table with rose petals and some candles. I wanted it because it was for our little celebration for Valentine's Day, our first vacation together and just love. I hope they didn't charge us for it because I mentioned it in the notes to put it on our tab. BUT.. everything went well, we got a table for our little small celebrations, so who can complain?"

  • "I like how eating at melting pot is a different kind of dining experience. With the spaced out courses it has a unique feel to it that is more European style."

  • "The Melting Pot is a favorite. Their monthly Girls Night Out special is a great deal and always provides a fantastic time, whether it is with a group of friends or your sweetheart. The food is delicious from the beginning of the meal to the end, though the cheese and chocolate courses are usually the favorites!"

  • "If you haven't been - its worth a try, can be fun. our group was three for a birthday. We were seated promptly (we had a reservation) and the service was timely. We planned to just do 2 courses, but the cost was so close to the 4 course, so we that Our server was great, friendly and explained everything. The drinks waitress though, had an attitude. The major complaint was the cost, the waiter suggested a coppola claret, it was ok but turned out to be $15 a glass - what? we had two. The food - cheese fondue, salad, main course and chocolate fondue, all decent. Our total bill with tip, for three, well over $200. We didnt order anything expensive or extra off the menu either. Fun, but just not that high end a restaurant for the price."

  • "Our group had the 4-course dinner which was great for the big eaters! Started with the cheese fondue, which is always a favorite. We had the French Quarter, Bourguignonne style: filet mignon, chicken, and shrimp with Andouille sausage, which were all basically fried. Have tried bouillon style, which is stewed. It's a personal preference. Chocolate fondue was good."

  • "I have been here several times before and had a wonderful experience, unfortunately this time was not. The Host was very friendly the seating was fine but our server was so slow. We had to wait so long for everything and it got to the point that we would plan on everything we needed to ask her for because we knew once she left the table we would not see her for a long time. At one point my Husband had to get up and walk around and find another server to bring over what we needed. There were 5 us (1 was a 4 year old who didn't eat much) and we all felt like we didn't get enough food. The portions were so much smaller then they have been in the past. I don't know if they cut back to save money but it really ruined our experience."

  • "If you are looking for something to do with friends that's different, this is the place. I don't think I could come her all the time, but it's definitely out of the norm and fun when you need to mix it up from the same old thing. Food if good, basically what you would expect from a fondue place."

  • "Took my date here for a little celebration of a new job and he had never had fondue at all before, so it was an entirely new experience that was made extra special with everyone having the information about his new job and asking about it during the night. The "extras" they offer are also spectacular. I only ordered the rose, but it was more than I was expecting. It had to be the most beautiful rose and with the other...garnish-y flowers with it, it just looked awesome. He was super surprised. The staff, the food, the atmosphere, everything here is great."
