A word from The Melting Pot - Houston
The Melting Pot Restaurant is where fun is cooked up fondue style. Whether you’re celebrating a birthday, anniversary, long overdue date night or celebrating with a group.
We are the premier fondue restaurant, centrally located on Westheimer, providing a casually elegant dining experience and an intimate atmosphere. The relaxing four-course experience begins with a cheese fondue prepared table side and fresh salads while your entrée pot heats up. You’ll simmer a variety of meats, seafood and vegetables in the cooking style of your choice. Each morsel is hot, fresh and delicious and all entrées are accompanied by an array of dipping sauces. Chocolate fondue is the finale, served with decadent dippers. Most make reservations for the four-course dining experience but more than a few have stopped by to satisfy that cheese fondue or chocolate craving. The Melting Pot also features a great wine list, specialty cocktails and martinis.

This place was awesome... Truly last minute. My bf and I was celebrating our anniversary and was to actually go somewhere else. Nothing seemed to go right. Was going to ditch the night but I had a close friend mention this place. Got on the app, reserved a table, within 20 mins we were seated. Staff was great upon arrival, our waiter totally explained how to order. We had the "couple booth", we just loved it. Oh! The dessert portion..." Mexican chocolate " ...felt like I was in heaven lol we walked out full and satisfied. Have told many pplz to go here for date night, family night, whatever. Its a tad pricey but worth it!

I went for HRW week and it was fantastic! Pay the extra $5 for a seasoned bowl for your main entree, well worth it! Also for dessert and appetizers it's unlimited dippers so can't go wrong there! Our waiter was excellent as well, always coming around asking how we were doing. Ask for Maurice, he won't let you down!

My husband and I dined at the Melting Pot for our wedding anniversary. It was our first time and I had read other reviews before booking the reservation. I am glad I made the choice to dine there. The staff, food, and service was outstanding! I will definitely go again. The food portions were good because you left feeling satisfied, not overly stuffed.

I hadn't had fondue for at least 15 years before going to the Melting Pot, and it was everything I hoped for. What's not to like about a l=meal where you start off dipping things in hot cheese, and then finish by dipping things in hot chocolate? The only note I have is a suggestion that you not order the spinach artichoke ravioli with the Mojo cooking style; the citrus taste does not compliment the spinach artichoke flavor. Other than that, everything was great.

Whether a quiet family dinner or romantic evening out, The Melting Pot is very unique and excellent. Our waiter was tremendous! Special , patient, warm attention without intrusion. Food was plentiful and tasty. The only negative was that the manager asked we leave the table since they only allow 2.5 hours for a reservation. He explained we had been there for 3. Having spent 300$ on a dinner for 3 people , I was a bit miffed. Granted I understand there were people with reservations waiting but this could be solved by explaining when making a reservation you only have the table 2.5 hours. Definitely will go back but with this understanding next time. And to prevent waiting for others to leave their table, an early reservation is recommended.

We were at the Melting Pot for my daughter's 7th birthday. We had two sets of older grandparents and a little girl. Maybe a server's nightmare (?). The staff were so very polite and kind to my parents (who get confused easily and the choices baffled them) and my inquisitive little daughter. We had Korey and he was wonderful. He made a little girl's night very special and was very kind to my parents and my husband's folks. We appreciated that very much. The food is always great at the Melting Pot. The service really made the night. Thank you Melting Pot servers and staff!

We love the melting pot. This time the table wasn't in a great location, the burner was slow and the sever needed a shot of personality. All that being said, the manager on shift that night took the time to listen to is and to help our server get things done for us. The food is always good and it's always a good time!

I think any place that takes your credit card to hold a table and threatens to charge you if you are 15 minutes late should seat you within their 15 minute window. We waited an hour to be seated. Unacceptable!!! I love the food, but I'm pretty sure I will not be returning.

I love the Melting Pot in general and the Houston restaurant is one of the best. It's a little pricy, but you get four courses and, while you may think the portions look small, you won't leave hungry. You don't have to do all four courses any longer, but it's still my recommendation - cheese fondue, salad, main course, and chocolate fondue. You have a huge selection of meats for the main course and a few different styles of broth (or oil so you can fry if you prefer). My only wish is that they had more broth styles. It's fairly limited and they charge now for anything other than the basic broth. Plus they have a healthy wine and cocktail list. Definitely a nice, quiet but entertaining evening out with someone special!

This was actually my second time going to the Melting Pot, and I had a good time. The first time was on a date, and we really enjoyed ourselves. Its intimate enough to feel like you are the only people there and its fun way to share a meal with a date. This last time I went with my boyfriend and our children (2) to celebrate my birthday and they liked it. We had a good time and I was able to show the kids something else besides McDonald's. Its very worth it.

Took my kids for a fun birthday dinner. They enjoyed the interactive dining experience. The food was presented nicely and tasted very good (my own fault for overcookingva piece of steak). Service was very good. The waiter explained the process thoroughly and was quick to provide refills for the kids' drinks. Overall a fun night.

If you don't mind cooking your own food, this can be a fun, "once in a while" experience. The cheese course is great, I like it without the beer flavor. The chocolate course is divine! Who doesn't love anything dipped in chocolate?! The meat course I could do without. Takes longer and to me the flavor is just…different. Maybe I should try the oil instead of the broths, but I'm not super impressed with the meats. It's a fun place mostly though and it's always better if you take someone who's never been.

I didn't realize the full Melting Pot experience would take 2 hrs. Since we were going to the JT concert after, we told our host we'd have to leave in an hr. We decided on the Trad Swiss cheese fondue, Ceasar salad, Atlantic salmon&chicken breast cooked in Cog au Vin style. Our waiter was very accomodating & made sure we were finished in an hr. He said we held the record for fastest dining here. The food was very good, the salmon and chicken dipped in teriyaki sauce was delicious. The Ceasar salad had a nice sweetness to it & the Swiss cheese fondue was very similar to our very first and special fondue experience in Lucerne, Switzerland - the homeland of fondue! We will definitely come back for the total experience without time constraints.

This was my second time coming here, but first for a special occasion. I had Minh as my waiter and will recommend everyone go with him. He was extremely friendly, knowledgeable, attentive (but not overly attentive to ruin the romantic atmosphere) and made excellent suggestions. As I walked in, the table wasn't ready yet. I went to the bar, and had a drink. The bartender was friendly and quick. After a drink the hostess called my name. My date and I went to our table and could immediately tell this was a nice place and it was made to be more of a private dining experience. I ordered the four course surf and turf as my date ordered something very similar. Minh did a great job explaining how everything works. I will be back for Minh.

We were really excited to go here. Overall the experiece was wonderful, great service from staff and managment. The food was delicious and it was nice to have such a long, relaxed dinner with my significant other. The booths are built to try to have as much privacy as possible for an intimate feeling. My only complaint is the couple sitting diagnally to us. It was a bit dampening of the experience, but it won't keep us from coming back. I just hope next time others learn to keep their thoughts to themselves a bit better.

Without knowing/understanding the setup, we were surprised to have been provided a pot of hot oil and plate of raw meat. The main course was too much meat, what few veggies were provided were not of the freshest variety. We made the most of it and tried to enjoy the experience as best we could. Would be ok for drinks and appetizers, or just for desert. Our waiter was very accommodating in his explanation and coaching of how to best time the cooking of the meat (-download the iPhone app).
