The Melting Pot - GreensboroBest service I have ever had!!Ate at the melting pot on 5-18 which was my anniversary. Everyone was so friendly and nice. Our waiter, Kyle was one of the best waiters I have ever had. He was awesome! Had never been to this melting pot but will most certainly return!!5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat dining experienceReservation for 4 guests, 3 were there, so we were asked to wait for the rest of the party before seating us, which was fine, but NO room for waiting except a small bar right inside the door that seats about 6 people. Very small area, that included that restrooms. The hostess asked us if we wanted drinks while we waited, so that helped. The service was excellent. We were celebrating my husband's 35th birthday and all of the staff that stopped by our table, wished him happy birthday. The food was good, not excellent, for it to be so pricey. We expected it to be pricey, so I am not complaining. For a 4 course meal for 4 people, with no alcohol, 2 drinks & 2 waters,tab was $154. I am sure we will return. A self-paced evening of good food, conversation and relaxation. Lots of flavors to mix and match so everyone taste buds were satisfied. You should not go with anyone that wants to eat and run! The main entree was not very good at all most especially for the cost! It was way over priced for the food that you received. It was a spot she had always wanted to try. The duck was amazing, the choice of sauces was fantastic, and the wine was incredible. The waitstaff was friendly and kept our glasses filled. The restaurant was romantic and food was spectacular! I made a reservation online and a lady called the day before to confirm the reservation and asked if I needed any special arrangements. I told her it was a birthday and that I would be dropping of balloons. I dropped off balloons for the table and when we arrived for supper that evening they had them on the table and left a card signed by their wait staff. The manager Michelle was very personable and friendly. Our waiter wasn't the best. I had to go find him to get a drink. He was cordial, at best. Also, he ruined our cheese fondue by filling it full with too much cracked pepper. The rest of the meal was great. When we go back we will make sure we don't get Chet as our waiter in the future. But the manager Michelle was the best! A nice person to chat with and gave us a few little extra perks to make our evening special.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMNoiseIt was our first time, we had a great dinner, excellent service, but we were seated next to the hostess stand and heard every phone call, every conversation from staff getting drinks from the bar and other guests waiting to be seated. It was our 25th anniversary and we were interupted by other conversations when we were trying to converse. Maybe a curtain or something to block the noise??? We found it! Good dinner and the server was excelent! The food was good, the staff was great, it is just the facility is just run down. At one poiint they were going to move and then decided not to go to the location that it was going. I don't think the area it was going to be moving was going to have good parking so I am glad they didn't move to that location. However I do wish they would move somewhere and SOON. I have been to other Meling Pots in Charlotte and Raleigh and to be able to get a table on prom weekend is really not a good sign. My husband and I have been coming to this restaurant for years to celebrate special occassions or just have an evening get away. The food is always outstanding and very fresh and the staff is always friendly, knowledgeable, and prompt without being too intrusive. The management is always attentive and professional, taking the time to introduce themselves to you and always helping the staff serve guests. It was has first time and he really enjoyed it. The only downfall was I ordered the package Melt Your Lover's Heart Package but I did not Recieve the picture and frame that was advertised with the package. I requested balloons and chocolates to be on our table for when we arrived; which surprised him. The server was helpful in aiding in our 4 course meal decision and had a good attitude/personality. Our favorite part of the meal was the dessert; we ordered the Chocolate Smore Fondue and had a variety of sweets to chose from to dip in. We will definitely be back!
