Diner Reviews
  • "Great cheese. I usually just order two cheese fondues, and they're incredible!"

  • "Unless you are a complete fondue fanatic, I'm sorry to say you should consider The Melting Pot only for a very special occasion - for which you have plenty of time & money. I can see why it is so expensive: our party of 6 occupied a two-burner table for nearly four hours. It takes that long for the full dinner/dessert experience. With such a low turnover rate, coupled with the labor-intensive nature of the whole prepare-at-the-table thing, & all the special equipment, high prices are inevitable. Our cost - over $400 (including $75 tip) for 6 people - not heavy drinkers. The food itself, mostly excellent. Cheeses, broths, chocolate delicious. Fruits, meats, veggies and seafood fresh and tasty. Duck over-spiced."

  • "The Melting Pot has been one of our favorite restaurants for years. We go each year on our anniversary. We have always found the environment to be quiet and inviting for a nice adult dinner. This year, we were very surprised to see how many very young children were dining in the restaurant at the same time as we were. Unfortunately, many people do not watch their children well, and we had many children that were running back and forth past our table. The parents made no attempt to inform the kids that they were in a nice restaurant, and they were disrupting other diners by running around. Kids are not always perfectly behaved, but parents should make more of an attempt to reign their kids in, or management should intervene."

  • "I've been to the Melting Pot many times; I even had my bridal shower there. I have never had a problem with service until now. Our waiter was very charming, but very much absent. He would be gone for more than 25 minutes at a stretch, not even to see if everything was ok or refill our water. We had chosen the oil, and the smoke was burning our eyes; by the time our waiter came to take it away, the oil was so dark it was almost lack inside the pot. We had to flag down a busboy to find our waiter to remove it! Teachers usually receive a gift for Teachers Night Out; we had to ask if that was still the case and our waiter did not know. When he did find them, he told us how he had to track them down, which didn't make us feel special at all."

  • "We went for my daughter's elementary school graduation. It was such a great and different experience. Everyone loved the appetizer/dessert courses. The dinner takes a little getting used to but overall I would highly recommend The Melting Pot."

  • "My girlfriend and I go here once every few months, and it is always a wonderful dinner. The food is always delicious and the staff and very friendly and helpful. And don't worry, you will leave full. Besides, who doesn't love melted cheese and chocolate?"

  • "I love coming here. Although it's more on the expensive side than other restaurants, the food is delicious and service is great. The wait staff are all very friendly and we even had managers come check on us and help move things along quicker. Great dining experience!"

  • "My boyfriend and I celebrated our first anniversary here. It was wonderful and romantic. They set us up infront of the fireplace in a private booth. And the staff was amazing, especially our waiter chris. He brought out a plate with happy anniversary written on it in strawberry jam. They alo gave up $10 off our next visit. Great food an great experience"

  • "We love the melting pot and this location didn't disappoint. Our waitress was amazing. For sure go again."

  • "...on the "SkinnyDipper" It's always a great experience. Waiter, Mike, is always so attentive. This was our first time going for the entree. We always left feeling stuffed like a turkey after just cheese and chocolate, but saw the "Skinny Dipper" on their catering contract and trout we could give it a shot. Well - I didn't feel so skinny afterwards-LOL. TIP: never hesitate to make requests for changes to the chocolate. If they have it they will customize. Same goes for most cheeses I'm sure. FYI: Skinny Dipper isnt on the regular menu. The Skinny Dipper is just small portions of: shrimp, salmon, chicken, mini spinach ravioli, potatoes, asparagus and broccoli. PLUS... You start with the cheese, then salad. Chocolate to finish up-of course"

  • "Never disappointed here. Fondue is great, service is great."
    Dined on 6/10/2014
  • "The whole experience was very good. Cooking our own portions at our table is fun. The fondues were also very good. The experience can be a long one...for a table of three we were two and a half hours start to finish for the four course experience. All in all a recommended experience even if a bit on the expensive side."

  • "Third time for us and it was excellent. Server was pretty attentive. Eventually, they leave you alone for a while so you can cook and eat. It is not an inexpensive place to eat. Three of us walked out for $142. But, the experience is fun and you eat at a leisurely pace as you cook your food. We had the 4-course experience which includes cheese fondue, salad, entree and chocolate fondue for dessert. Filling. Good choices. They explain everything. It was a good experience. We will certainly go back."

  • "This place was great for a bunch of high school friends who haven't seen each other. We laughed and really enjoyed cooking our meals using the burners. Its very interactive and the food was delicious. Our favorite part was the dessert it was a lot of fun dipping all the goodies in the two melted chocolate selections they offered. Server was great she was patient with us and help guided us through the courses. This is a great place. Can't wait to go back soon."

  • "Expensive for having to cook your own food. A very weird experience. The waitress was not very helpful. We did not even receive a refill on water. The only thing that we enjoyed was dessert. Dinner was bland and for $40/plate for 6 pieces of shrimp, 6 cubes of chicken, 5 cubes of steak...not worth it. And it's all cooked in broth. It's just weird. "

  • "The service at this restaurant was one of the worst I have ever experienced. Upon being seated, there was a dirty napkin underneath our table. Our waiter, Tim, was extremely inattentive. It took us forever to get our food. Once we got the dessert menu, we were left for approximately 20 minutes before he came back to take our orders. When he finally did we realized the portion that we ordered was too small, but he left before we had the opportunity to order another serving. We were blatantly ignored by our waiter. We tried flagging him down and he looked right at me and decided to walk away anyway. He also made a beeline away from our table upon noticing a paid check at an empty tables, this was before he was about to take our orders.."

  • "I was very impressed with the four course meal. Cooking at the table was great, it was funny when the main course came out and it looked like such a small portion but my husband and I got full and everything was high quality and delicious. It was my husbands birthday and we had a good time along with some friends!! We go back again!!"

  • "After several attempts, we finally made it as part of our celebration for our 20th Wedding Anniversary and it was great! The food, ambiance and service were excellent. They really made us feel special. I highly recommend it!"

  • "Had a reservation for a Saturday at 7pm, arrived 6:45 and waited at the bar for 15 minutes. We've been to the Melting Pot before so we are familiar with the menu and cooking styles. However our waiter was fully prepared to explain how everything works. We enjoyed everything as usual but my only complaint was there was a longer wait between courses than usual almost uncomfortably long this may have been caused by what appeared to be several large parties going on that night we were there. This would not however stop me from returning to the Melting Pot or even not wanting this same waiter. "

  • "If you're looking for an experience-this is it! You are an active part of the night- from individualized food selections to preparing your own food. The food is delicious and service is great. But the highlight is the novelty of the dining experience!"

  • "The place was fabulous. I thought that manager was very nice and helpful. Our waiter did well with bringing the food but he had know type of personality and because of that it wasn't as enjoyable there from past time. "
    Dined on 5/16/2014
  • "We love it here! It's all about the ambiance. It's a really wonderful place to have dinner and really relax. My girlfriend and I both had a stressful week and James made sure to create a relaxing experience. I haven't had a dissapointing visit yet! I'm sure we'll be back again soon! "

  • "The Melting Pot is great for a night of something different. Something to spice up a date night from just being served food. Allows you to interact with others more while cooking your own food. The experience is great and the dessert part is really good. "

  • "We had a 9:30 reservation and were seated promptly. After being seated, it took another 30 minutes for our server to come over and take our drink order - and we had to ask! Unacceptable! Our server wound up being incredibly nice (it was his 3rd day on the job), but the wait was ridiculous. With so many good restaurants in the area to choose from, we will not return. Very disappointing! "

  • "Our family enjoyed the interactive dining- sharing fondues and dippers. We also had the LI restaurant week special and enjoyed cooking in the vegetable broth- although I prefer grilled veggies and meat. Overall, the kids got out and we enjoyed a nice family experience. The chocolate fondue was delish!!!!!"

  • "The food was excellent as always. My wife and I come here about once a month and are never disappointed. The service is exceptional, the atmosphere is relaxing and contemporary, and the table by the fireplace is very romantic (it's my wife's favorite table). This is by far our favorite place to eat! We always have an amazing time coming to the Melting Pot!"
