The Melting Pot in Darien absolutely fit the bill. The location was quaint and nice. The food was great and the service impeccable. Our server was completely versed on the menu, knowledgable, friendly and kind. He made great suggestions and did not rush us at all. Mom LOVED the meal and it was a huge relief to me. This was the first time since they implemented the new menu. The new "portion control" was evident as the courses were much smaller than in the past. However, we did notice that the prices dropped a little bit, so I suppose it evens out. They did let us substitute pot stickers for the shrimp since we are not seafood fans.
