Diner Reviews
  • "Very disappointed in our visit to The Melting Pot this time. We were utilizing the Fondue & a Show promotion that they had going. Walked in & there wasn't a hostess at the hostess stand. When 2 showed up, they spent more time talking to each other than greeting customers. Our server was very surly & didn't bother to explain the promotion or the cheeses. He seemed extremely put out when we asked questions or asked for a menu to explain the selections. When he was making the cheese, he dumped cheese all over the table which he never bothered to clean up. There were 4 of us, & got food for two. Had to ask for more. TMP is what I would call a 360 dining experience and the showmanship is part of what you pay for. It was not there for us."

  • "The Melting Pot was fantastic. They have wonderful food and were willing to make substitutions for our party when we asked. I only wish they had a less formal seating option for people who aren't there for a romantic occasion."

  • "The Melting Pot is a great place to celebrate a special occasion. It is a little pricey, but you will have a lot of fun. And the Chocolate Fondue is the best! My only disappointment was that, even though we made a reservation for 7:00 PM on a Friday night, when we arrived at 7, we had to wait at least 10 minutes to be seated. But overall, it was an enjoyable evening."

  • "Waiter was annoyed by our lack of melting pot experience. Minimal explanation of the process etc. Not helpful with the menu. Won't return."

  • "My family and I really enjoyed our dining experience at The Melting Pot. Parker, our waiter, was kind and very knowledgeable about the food. I also enjoyed some great cocktails. I'll definitely go back for a special occasion."

  • "Just took my wife to The Melting Pot for our 11 yr anniversary. I had been there 2 times previous, but many years ago. My wife had never been there. She was not sure how she would like it, but after experiencing it, she said she really enjoyed it and would like to go again sometime. The food was delicious, the cheese fondue and the chocolate fondue was wonderful!"

  • "The food was great. The service was slow. The drinks were not refilled. The waiter was dirty with long dirty fingernails."

  • "As usual, my kids love going to The Melting Pot and we always have a great time. Unfortunately the service had a few hiccups but nothing too serious. We will be back."

  • "They changed the swiss cheese! It's now inedible (for me). Half of the bread was stale. The other cheese dippers and the dark chocolate and dippers were good. The waitress could tell we didn't need too much attention, but it was a little too far in between checks. Since getting salad, cheese, main course, and chocolate has always been too much food, my friends and I only get cheese and chocolate. Since the new swiss recipe is a disaster, iI unfortunately won't be returning unless the previous recipe returns. This makes me sad because I have been a fan of the melting pot for 20 years."

  • "This Melting Pot is comparative to every other Melting Pot. The fondue is good for being a chain restaurant. Nothing outstanding but consistently good. Wine list was a little lacking though and they wouldn't allow bringing in a bottle for a corkage fee which we gladly would have paid."

  • "One of my favorite dining and sharing experiences. Go with a group and be prepared to talk, laugh and share for a couple hours. Everything is always delicious and it's perfect for special occasions like birthdays."

  • "The food is great at the Melting Pot. We have always enjoyed it. This time we had one of our kids with us, who got a kids meal. The Melting Pot added charges to our final bill for our kid eating some of our cheese portion and dessert portion. There was no mention of this to us until the bill came and they added a $18 charge for dipped berries that we did not order. We had to go through the manager to get the berries taken off. The meal was great, but it just seemed shady and scam like when the bill came. Just check your bill at the end of the night."

  • "Our reservations stated we were gluten free and that wanted the photo and frame add on option as we were celebrating our 30 yr. anniversary. This was to be a surprise keepsake for my wife. They did not honor my request on the reservation for the frame and we had to continually remind our waiter that we had to have gluten free food as my wife has Celiac disease. I am very disappointed. I went to the hostess counter 2 times to ask about the frame and there was no one there, even though several people were waiting to be helped. We have dined at other Melting Pot locations and this was the worst."

  • "They have options for roses, rose petals on the table, and a semi-private room with three two-person booths which give you the feeling that you are dining privately. The only downside is that the semi-private room gets a little warm compared to the rest of the restaurant. Great place to go for the two of you."

  • "Hostesses had poor attitudes, need to be trained to understand the customer comes first. I told them several times it was my daughter's birthday and to make it special for her. They "ran out of candles" and did absolutely nothing to make her feel special. Even seating was an issue in that despite being half full we could not choose iur section..just rude people with mo service manners."

  • "Our first experience at the Melting Pot was amazing! It's such a neat concept, and the service was wonderful! The food was delicious! Just remember to save room for dessert!!"

  • "Father's Day Endless Entrée...what more could you ask for? Was a little worried to start with - the Addison location is on the second floor and to get their you have to go up twisting stairs - not good for a bad back. Next, we had a 4:00 (the first) reservation and were not seated until almost 4:30 and to make matters worse, our server didn't know about the Endless Entrée! He went and learned about it and from then forward, it was FANTASTIC! Our server, Chris I, was INCREDIBLE, the fondue was FABULOUS, and the atmosphere was AMAZING!"

  • "It was my boyfriend's first time there and he loved it! Our waitress was great; she had a fun attitude, explained all the menu options, and sold us on getting drinks! : ) She is a keeper! Our table was private and intimate, which was perfect for our romantic dinner. My boyfriend was pleasantly surprised that the protein options were so versatile and that we received so much. He was so full he didn't eat dessert. lol We will be back!"

  • "I've always enjoyed my visits to the Melting Pot. The staff from the greeters to the servers are accommodating and friendly. The food is wonderful and the eating experience is a non rushed, relaxing atmosphere. This is a wonderful place to sit down with friends, family or your special someone and have a couple of hours of great quality time."

  • "Atmosphere was ALMOST classy enough for the prices. My date's booth seat was torn. The restaurant was loud and noisy and my Cesar salad was extremely wilted and drenched in dressing, as was my date's salad. The waiter was accomodating and the servuce was great but the food was disappointing. The pineapple that came with our dessert fondue was not fresh and I would not be surprised if it was canned. Not quite worth the expense."

  • "The service was quite good and the food delicious. Don't like the new menu that requires each person to choose an entree of their own - simply too much food. Some people likely can eat it all, but for us it made much more sense to order the "dinner for two" that was on the former menu. The cheddar fondue was delicious; we had more dipping items than fondue, but that was okay. The caprese salad also was delicious. We each ordered land and see (filet, chicken, and shrimp). The filet was perfect and the chicken was nicely seasoned. VERY expensive for dinner, but if one considers it dinner and an evening out it is okay. The noise level was high - after we were seated a table of 7 came over celebrating a 7-year-old's birthday. Crazy loud."

  • "When entering the restaurant the receptionist wasn't very friendly. She never looked up to acknowledge me and while she was busy doing something else I just gave her my name and she told me I will be seated shortly. .it was my first time so I didn't know what to expect. Allen was my server he was outstanding and very patient with my group. He made the experience fun and enjoyable. .. Other Then THE Rude Receptionist I Will Return"

  • "Several things - initially thought it was great there is an online facility to place reservations, but once there the wait was one hour extra. Then every time the server would come by and do something it would be 15-20 minutes before we would see him again. He put too much beer in the cheddar fondue and made it non-edible. But we wouldn't see him enough to be able to tell him. This stretched our dinner out to 11pm, and we just refused the chocolate fondue just purely for the fact it was so late. I have had Melting Pot elsewhere in Dallas before about 10 years ago and the service wasn't nearly this bad. "

  • "This was our first time trying out The Melting Pot, celebrating my wife's birthday, and I will definitely be going back. The atmosphere was great, the food was amazing, and the experience was memorable. A little dark in the restaurant, but I think that was more for a mood setting to be romantic. Overall great experience and would highly recommend for a romantic evening with a love one for anniversary, Valentines Day, or birthday. "

  • "My 11 year old grandson's favorite restaurant in the Dallas are. Too bad we live 350 miles away! Good food and great service. The children's menu has a number of items including a spinach ravioli (for fonduing) that both my 3 1/2 yr old granddaughter and grandson love."

  • "This was a very different experience. An awesome one at that, the food was superb and our waiter was by far the best waiter Iv ever had. He was extremely knowledgable about everything and was very good at adding a touch of humor. My fiancé and I will be back many many times."

  • "This was my wife's and my 12 year anniversary and it was excellent. It was just the break we needed from our kids and the food was outstanding."

  • "The menu was very confusing, even after the waiter explained it a couple of times. Eventually we managed to order some food, the fondue was great, plus the dessert was tasty."

  • "I was very unhappy with the seating. Especially when I specified that it was for my girlfriends birthday. We were placed in a separate tiny room in the back corner at a tiny table. We wanted to move. We made the best of it, but we were both disappointed"

  • "The food is great and it is very laid back and relaxed enjoyable dinner. But if you need something your going to be waiting for a server as they do not come around much to check on you which is good and bad. "
