The Melting Pot - Columbia
special birthdayWe asked our son where he wanted to for his birthday...he chose Melting Pot and it did not disappoint. Great food. Great service. A whole evening of fun. Thanks for making it his special day!5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMI took my 13 year old daughterI took my 13 year old daughter out for a "grown up" dinner with 5 of her friends. I choose a Thursday night, so if her group got a little too loud or silly we wouldn't be distracting too many other patrons. It worked out perfectly. Fondue is a lot of fun for all ages and they all had a blast! All the girls enjoyed their food, even the pickier girl in the group and they all even got non alcoholic drinks the waiter suggested. There is something for everyone, and cheese fondue is only one of the courses so it doesn't get boring.
The Melting Pot is a great place to go for any special occasion....girls night out, romantic dinner, first date, birthdays, graduation, Prom, Mother's/Father's Day.5/16/2013 12:00:00 AMOverall ExcellenceAlong with the great food and ambience the staff and management are always welcoming and friendly!5/14/2013 12:00:00 AMAwesome! This was the first time we've been to the Melting Pot. It was a wonderful experience! The waitress explained everything to us and was very patient in answering our questions.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat night outMy friend and I were just looking for a girls night out and thoroughly enjoyed our experience at the Melting Pot. We have both been there before and it is always a good place to go for a nice, relaxing evening out. I would not recommend going if you are in a hurry (e.g., have a movie to get to) since it can take a little while for the pots to heat up and the food to cook, but it is a great restaurant when you are looking for a place to go to take your time and just relax for a while.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Foood Small PortionsThe food was absolutely delicious however the portions are very small.
My husband and I were very disappointed of the portion size of the entrees. Three small cubes of each meat selection. Not satisfying.
The food was well seasoned and fresh. The fondue experience was romantic and fun.
I would recommend this restaurant for appetizers and wine or late night dessert and wine.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat FoodThis was our first time to The Melting Pot and wow, we were very impressed. The food was amazing, the restaurant was very clean, and the servers were very attentive.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful Mother's Day celebrationThis was a wonderful, early Mother's Day celebration. The food was fantasic and the service was impecable. Sam did a truly outstanding job of making our experience memorable. I love the new menu with more options of what to order. If you don't want it, you don't have to order the whole 3 or 4 course selections. This is a great idea! The meat eaters in our group were happy with the selections as were the vegetarians. The Wisconsin cheese trio was awesome as were the meat selections and the chocolate/peanut butter dessert fondue was a huge hit with the children. The bread, fruits and dessert items to dip were plentiful. We always leave stuffed whenever we go there.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMFondue does fill you up!We went for our anniversary, after years of not having one nearby. Still as good as ever! Will definitely make this a regular spot! Ohhh, if you can get Wayne as your server, that's an added plus!5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMQuaint!A little expensive, but a different experience. I would go again for the cheese fondue, the salad, and the chocolate. Cooking the main meal was a bit of an ordeal.5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMMy best idea everRecently work has been stressful at my job, so I decided to take advantage of ladies night and invite my co-workers. It was a great turn out and only one person out of 8 couldn't be there. All the ladies had a great time.4/30/2013 12:00:00 AMMelting pot reviewIt was just a regular night out for me nothing special but it still had the romantic feel for great conversation over even better food . Definitely would recommend this place4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMAnniversary DinnerThis was my husband and I's first time to The Melting Pot. We celebrate our 3-year wedding anniversary tomorrow (4/30) and we've decided to try a new restaurant each year. I chose this year's because I had heard rave reviews about The Melting Pot. We definitely were not let down! Our waitress, Anastasia, was amazing! She was a true gem from telling us about the menu to being right there when we needed something or had a question. She was awesome because aside from being our waitress, she and I connected as we are each nursing majors. To be able to relate/connect to your waitress/waiter is hard, so the fact she went above and beyond both waiting on us AND being personable was wonderful.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMOverall the restaurant wasOverall the restaurant was AMAZING!! The food and atmosphere were terrific. The one downside to the entire night was the waiter. In the beginning of dinner he was attentative and great. However, he was very slow as we were finishing our entree. We waited a good ten minutes before he even came to take our dessert order. He wasn't even the one who took it. Another man who had been around noticed we were still waiting and took our order, then went to find the waiter to let him know what we had ordered. It was only after this man had approached our waiter did the waiter come and acknowledge our table. We were there for over 2 hours and would have been out faster had we not had to wait on the waiter to acknowledge us.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMRomantic EveningThe Melting Pot is one of our favorite restaurants for a romantic night. The ambiance of the restaurant leads to a very quiet and romantic evening. The food is always amazing, and the service is incredible. We enjoy the intimacy of cooking our meal together in a low lighting environment. Also, I recommend the Ying Yang specialty drink, YUM!!4/23/2013 12:00:00 AMA typical (very good) MP experienceI've had many good experiences at Melting Pot locations around the country and this was no different. Attentive, friendly waiter, a quiet, comfortable atmosphere, and the food was delicious as always. If only we hadn't just missed the bacon and brie cheese course by a day!4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMServer friendly. Owner checkedServer friendly. Owner checked on us. Loved the first time experience.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMThe classics (with a menu change)We love the Melting Pot for a romantic anniversary dinner! The one in Columbia was great, as always! They have re-done their menu to make things easier to purchase by the person. You no longer have to agree with your date to get the 4 course meal. This probably makes groups easier. We loved the classics- cheddar fondue, house salad with their yummy house dressing, The Classic (seasoned sirloin (yummy, but be careful not to overcook), herb crusted chicken (SO good!!), BBQ seasoned pork (also good), teriyaki steak (I'm not big on teriyaki, but my husband loved it), and shrimp). And we followed up with S'mores chocolate fondue. This is lighter than the original. Anastasia, our waitress, was WONDERFUl!!4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMAs always, the food was reallyAs always, the food was really good. Friendly service, but appeared to be over-taxed slightly as some waits for service were longer than usual. The wine list was significantly truncated compared to other Melting Pots we've been to, but the prices were good and they had some quality selections that we were pleased with.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat for anniversaryAaaamaizing, my wife and i loved it.. Visit for our anniversary and will definitely return4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMMore than just good food!I really love going to the Melting Pot for special occasions, but it's just as lovely going for no reason at all. I am so grateful for the quietness there, the service is impeccable and every server we've ever had there is outgoing and genuinely seems to want us to have a great visit. John, the Manager, remembered what I said on the phone when I called and stopped by twice to check to make sure everything was good. They've just changed their menu and I really like the change. Each person can choose their own entree portion now. The four-course option gives you a cheese course, salads, separate entrees and a chocolate course. For the two of us, without wine, we spent about $100. It's always good food and a great experience.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMNew menu makes selectionsNew menu makes selections easier and less confusing. As always the food was delicious!4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat for a special occasion / dateYou go for the experience more than the food. Although the food is really great too. Just keep in mind that its on the more costly end of places to eat.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMWe love the Melting Pot, andWe love the Melting Pot, and usually celebrate anniversary, birthdays, and other important events there. It is a great place for a slow, leisurely evening.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMI went to the melting potI went to the melting pot yesterday for the first time. I had an awesome experience. Our server was Brian and he was great. He was very patient and helpful. We told him it was our first time and he guided us through the menu and answered all of our questions. The food was excellent and the atmosphere was fantastic. My only complaint is that each course took a little long to come out, however it was definitely worth waiting for.3/27/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful evening. It wasWonderful evening. It was my first time at the restaurant & I found it fun & the food was excellent. The server, Michael, was entertaining & fun. He spoke fast but that made it even better. The beer flight went quite well with the dishes and my wife enjoyed the wine flight as well. Our server was great and overall we had yet another great experience with Melting Pot. We'll be sure to be back as soon as we can.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMLove Melting Pot, Columbia!Went here for girls night and we all had a wonderful time! Great food, and great service!3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMTTook my children for theirTTook my children for their first experience. They loved everything from the food to the drinks. Would recommend friends and family. Host and manager was excellent. We will be back.3/17/2013 12:00:00 AMAuthentic FondueI indulged in the special of the evening: Multiple courses and a major desert. Fondue is a bit rich for the metabolism and digestion, but if you crave it, this would be the place. Very close to the way they do it in Lucerne or the Tyrol, but with some classic American variety and panache added. I sampled a Wisconsin cheddar cheese fondue with some cut-up raw veggies and little cubes of fresh Granny Smith green apple, both of which perfectly captured the overwhelming richness of the melted cheddar. Cubes of fresh rosemary bread are also served up for spearing and dipping, Tasty (if you can handle the carbs). Excellent cabernet was featured which perfectly complemented the fondue. And that was just for openers.....3/12/2013 12:00:00 AMAwesome time!It was ladies night and me and my 5 girlfriends had a fabulous time! We can't wait to do it again.3/12/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat for Ladies Night Out.Great for Ladies Night Out.
