We have both been there before and it is always a good place to go for a nice, relaxing evening out. I would not recommend going if you are in a hurry (e.g., have a movie to get to) since it can take a little while for the pots to heat up and the food to cook, but it is a great restaurant when you are looking for a place to go to take your time and just relax for a while.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Foood Small PortionsThe food was absolutely delicious however the portions are very small.
My husband and I were very disappointed of the portion size of the entrees. Three small cubes of each meat selection. Not satisfying.
The food was well seasoned and fresh. The fondue experience was romantic and fun.

The food was fantasic and the service was impecable. Sam did a truly outstanding job of making our experience memorable. I love the new menu with more options of what to order. If you don't want it, you don't have to order the whole 3 or 4 course selections. This is a great idea! The meat eaters in our group were happy with the selections as were the vegetarians. The Wisconsin cheese trio was awesome as were the meat selections and the chocolate/peanut butter dessert fondue was a huge hit with the children. The bread, fruits and dessert items to dip were plentiful. We celebrate our 3-year wedding anniversary tomorrow (4/30) and we've decided to try a new restaurant each year. I chose this year's because I had heard rave reviews about The Melting Pot. We definitely were not let down! Our waitress, Anastasia, was amazing! She was a true gem from telling us about the menu to being right there when we needed something or had a question. She was awesome because aside from being our waitress, she and I connected as we are each nursing majors. The food and atmosphere were terrific. The one downside to the entire night was the waiter. In the beginning of dinner he was attentative and great. However, he was very slow as we were finishing our entree. We waited a good ten minutes before he even came to take our dessert order. He wasn't even the one who took it. Another man who had been around noticed we were still waiting and took our order, then went to find the waiter to let him know what we had ordered. It was only after this man had approached our waiter did the waiter come and acknowledge our table. The ambiance of the restaurant leads to a very quiet and romantic evening. The food is always amazing, and the service is incredible. We enjoy the intimacy of cooking our meal together in a low lighting environment. They have re-done their menu to make things easier to purchase by the person. You no longer have to agree with your date to get the 4 course meal. This probably makes groups easier. We loved the classics- cheddar fondue, house salad with their yummy house dressing, The Classic (seasoned sirloin (yummy, but be careful not to overcook), herb crusted chicken (SO good!!), BBQ seasoned pork (also good), teriyaki steak (I'm not big on teriyaki, but my husband loved it), and shrimp). And we followed up with S'mores chocolate fondue. This is lighter than the original. I am so grateful for the quietness there, the service is impeccable and every server we've ever had there is outgoing and genuinely seems to want us to have a great visit. John, the Manager, remembered what I said on the phone when I called and stopped by twice to check to make sure everything was good. They've just changed their menu and I really like the change. Each person can choose their own entree portion now. The four-course option gives you a cheese course, salads, separate entrees and a chocolate course. Fondue is a bit rich for the metabolism and digestion, but if you crave it, this would be the place. Very close to the way they do it in Lucerne or the Tyrol, but with some classic American variety and panache added. I sampled a Wisconsin cheddar cheese fondue with some cut-up raw veggies and little cubes of fresh Granny Smith green apple, both of which perfectly captured the overwhelming richness of the melted cheddar. Cubes of fresh rosemary bread are also served up for spearing and dipping, Tasty (if you can handle the carbs). Excellent cabernet was featured which perfectly complemented the fondue.
