The Melting Pot - Arlington VAGood for GNOMy friends and I have been meaning to try the monthly Girls Night Out 4-course menu for a while now, and really enjoyed the experience - $27 each for four full courses. The service was great, and would definitely go back for the next GNO or for dessert on Wednesday (half price wine night)6/11/2013 12:00:00 AMGood as alwaysExcellent food and service. Hard to go wrong with this place.6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMWow, definitely worth theWow, definitely worth the experience. Not for very young children (too much stressing about hot burner), but great for age 6 and up, and would be great as a romantic date night. Will do this again!!6/5/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Night OutHad a great birthday out, food was great and the service was just perfect.6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways GoodAs the title suggests, The Melting Pot is always a good choice. We've been to this location three times and it hasn't let us down once. The only gripe we've had so far is that our first time there, which was on our anniversary, we were seated at some corner table by the emergency exit. It was a weird table since it was off to the side and almost nobody could see us, making it hard to get timely service. But, the management was still nice and even came by the table to wish us a happy anniversary, so it wasn't a bad time at all. I would just suggest closing that table down.5/31/2013 12:00:00 AMIntimate dinnerWe went here for my wife's first experience with a fondo restaurant. We left with full stomachs and a great experience. Service was great and food was amazing.5/31/2013 12:00:00 AMAnniversaryI planned my 5th wedding anniversary here and the staff was terrific. They ordered me roses and selected a great wine for the occasion. Superb service throughout the evening!5/31/2013 12:00:00 AMI am gluten free and I wasI am gluten free and I was truly impressed with their options and abiity to support this issue. They even brought out gluten free bread for the cheese fondue!5/26/2013 12:00:00 AMnew menuAfter eating at this Melting Pot several times in the past, it was refreshing to see their new menu, which included new entrees and allowed for individuals to choose their own plates. As usual, the service was friendly and efficient. We will continue to eat here.5/26/2013 12:00:00 AMA Special GemAfter wanting to dine at The Melting Pot for several years now. I finally had my chance. This experience exceeded all of my expectations! I gladly looke forward to my next experience there.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMLow-key Family CelebrationWe had excellent service on Sunday evening. Friendly, helpful, not obsequious. The food was delicious. The process of cooking your food in a pot of boiling broth is an excellent way to slow down fast eaters and generally relax everyone at the table. We chose not to go for the four-course meal because that is way too much food for us. We skipped the cheese dipping course. We had a salad, three entrees, and then dessert. Our waitress suggested that we have dark chocolate with caramel with a sprinkling of cinnamon set alight at the table (with a serving of rum), and that was an excellent suggestion. Delicious.
The food was very very good, but what set our meal apart was the service.
Thanks!5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMFun Girls NightWe had a fun night with about 9 "girls" - and everyone was able to find something they liked. We chose to order 3 of the meals and shared them. We also had one person in the group who was a vegetarian and she was able to find something to her liking as well!5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat place to eatI went with a friend for my first visit to a fondue restaurant. Our hostess was friendly and our waitress was amazing. She explained everything to us and was attentive but not overly so. She was also very personable. The food was very good. The meal started off with a cheese fondue with veggies and bread. This was follow by a salad. Our main course was filet, sirloin, and shrimp - all delicious. The chocolate fondue made for one of the best desserts! The only caution I would give is if money is an issue, watch the upgrades. We did the four course meal, which has a base price, but every course has the potential to upgrade. We choose not to and were not disappointed with our food. I could see this getting very expensive.5/16/2013 12:00:00 AMGood Food. Great Service.when you head to this Melting Pot, make sure you ask for Craig. He was FANTASTIC!5/14/2013 12:00:00 AMMelting Pot in Arlington is great! My boyfriend and I chose this restaurant for our anniversary, and it was definitely a great choice. It was a romantic setting and we both had a lot of fun.5/13/2013 12:00:00 AMLove the placeIt is a great place for friends & family to get together. You spend along time at he restaurant so I would not recommend it for little children especially since the burners are at the table and are very hot.
It is great because you can have an assortment of different foods. It is interactive and fun.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMMelting PotWonderful place. The service was fantastic, all of the employees were friendly, funny, and extremely helpful. Not to mention, the food was outstanding and presented in a brilliant fashion.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat serviceOur server was knowledgable and very kind. Definitely recommend the 4 course option if it is your first time going.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMRomantic timesI've been here before and was ecstatic when Living Social had a deal. My boyfriend and I decided to wait for our 2 year anniversary to redeem the deal. Our server was very attentive but not overbearing and was very helpful in picking out a wine for the night. The food was good (as usual) and came at a good pace so we didn't feel like we had to rush. Overall, great place for a romantic dinner, we certainly will be coming back with our without a deal.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMGood, but....The Melting Pot was great- they gave us a secluded booth and great service. Unfortunately, halfway through, a group of middle-schoolers came in for a birthday party and were loud and obnoxious which ruined the whole thing. I wish I could say this was the only time this happened but a couple of years ago on Valentine's day- a group was having a 6-year-old's birthday party......6 years old! On the most romantic day of the year.....screaming and crying..........it makes us think twice about going to The Melting Pot.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was my first time toThis was my first time to the melting pot the whole experince was EXECELLENT and the server he made my visit there even better a great service!!!5/8/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food is wonderful.. AllowThe food is wonderful.. Allow at least 2 hours to cook and eat. Can be pricey...not a weekly dining out event. BUT....so worth the experience. We'll be back.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMStill love the Melting Pot but....My husband and I are long time customers of the melting pot in Arlington (we got engaged there a long time ago) and have always enjoyed the food and the ambiance. Our visit this time was still excellent but we saw some things that alarmed us. Specifically, the corporate office seems to be taking a greater role in cost control. This has led to pre-portioned cheese fondue kits which, in our case, led to thin and watery cheese fondue. This was taken care of by our very attentive server who brought some additional cheese to thicken the mixture. However, this has never happened previously and I worry that like many restaurants the focus is beginning to shift from quality food to cost control.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMThursday Night Perfect for a DateThursday Night is date night. There were 4 courses, all delicious. Lots of options. And the meal came with a bottle of wine and a champagne toast with dessert. We were placed in a quiet, mood-lit corner, so the environment was private enough for a date atmosphere. And our server was great! He was attentive and offered some great food suggestions. A+ Experience.5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat ExperienceThe Melting Pot is always a great experience. The food is top notch and the service is always wonderful5/1/2013 12:00:00 AMThe Fairytale Fondue eventThe Fairytale Fondue event was a great hit with my 4 year old daughter and 6 yr old niece! I also enjoyed the fondue experience, it was my 2nd time there and I'd forgotten how delicious and enjoyable it was.4/28/2013 12:00:00 AMSpecial Occasion, Great ServiceMy boyfriend and I went here to celebrate six months together. The staff was great at guiding us through the menu options for our LivingSocial coupon for a four-course meal. The food, as always, was superb. Highlights: lobster tail and bbq pork both became tender and buttery in the bouillon broth. We had the Flaming Turtle (chocolate and caramel with toasted pecans) for our dessert dip - divine. The real star here is the service: we received friendly, attentive service from everyone, including the hosts, the servers, even the folks who confirmed our reservation by phone. No one rushed us - in fact, plan to spend awhile here as the food takes time to cook. This is a great special occasion dining spot!4/28/2013 12:00:00 AMThe Melting Pot - First TimersFirst timer: Very impressed with the range of options and quality. Not so impressed with the prices, a wee bit high for the family out looking for something different. Servers were very good describing options and courses. Very attentive staff. Good presentation.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMWe were having a girls nightWe were having a girls night out with a dear friend from out of town and the food and service were great. We came here to celebrateAmazing! We came here to celebrate a special occasion and the staff was very friendly and went above and beyond to make sure our experience was an unforgettable one. I would definitely be back here again! Food was amazing as well!4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMWish it wasn't so spendy -Wish it wasn't so spendy - I'd go there more often if it didn't cost so much.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMThis restaurant was prettyThis restaurant was pretty good and if I could have stated that I'd "maybe" recommend it that is the answer I'd put instead of yes or no. The waiter spilled the cheese appetizer on the table and almost on me as he was mixing it, he brought the dessert before the salads we ordered, he didn't refill our water, he didn't bring more dippers when we requested, if it hadn't been for other wait staff, the dining experience would have not gone well at all. The food was very good and the wine was very bad.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMJoel was our server--veryJoel was our server--very friendly and outgoing and enthusiastic and knowledgable regarding food and fondue pairings. A thoroughly enjoyable and memorable (and filling) experience!4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMJazyne was one of the bestJazyne was one of the best wait staff we've ever had!4/18/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food and service was terrific. The food and service was terrific. This was our second time eating at the Melting Pot, but the first time at this particular one. Our server's name was Matt and he could not have provided better service or advise. Will consider for future dining.4/17/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Fondue Restaurant --Great Fondue Restaurant -- we left the Restaurant about 4 hours after we got there and the time flew. Great food mixed with great company. Our server was fantastic, knew his way around the menu and then some. I would recommend this restaurant if someone was looking for a restaurant that has a different flair about it. Our 4-course meal was FANTASTIC!4/16/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had an excellent serverWe had an excellent server who bent over backward to make sure we enjoyed our time while there. The meats were very tender and cooked up perfectly! The dipping sauces were tasty and added something to the meal. The dessert (Yin/Yang) was divine!4/15/2013 12:00:00 AMWe much prefer the older menu.We much prefer the older menu. It is unfortunate the salad is no longer included with the entree. (Previously, at the Melting Pot, it was, and at most restaurantes it still is). On a previous visit, the spinach, artichoke ravioli was ordered (as an entree, not as part of a 3-choice selection). Much to my surprise I was billed $23 as though I ordered the ravioli as all three of my selections. I re-ordered the ravioli again on Sat. and clarified that it was as an entree. I noticed the serving size was exactly the same as the previous visit. I was billed correctly this time.
The Melting Pot continues to be one of our favorite restaurants, but it is very obvious they have raised their prices in a very subtle way.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMThis Melting Pot was reallyThis Melting Pot was really good. The service at this location was beyond great! Will go back soon.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMThe Melting Pot is a priceyThe Melting Pot is a pricey place to take the whole family, so we reserve it for special occasions; but we always enjoy the experience.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent experience. I hadExcellent experience. I had the Living Social deal and it was my first experience at the restaurant. Service was excellent and food was very good. I don't think I'd spend full price for it but it was a great experience.4/12/2013 12:00:00 AMService was great and overallService was great and overall had a wonderful evening4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMYeah, it's a chain, but they'veYeah, it's a chain, but they've got the fondue market cornered. Service is always excellent, and you can't go wrong with a menu that heavily features cheese and chocolate.4/3/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful experience - theWonderful experience - the waitress was great, food was delicious.4/2/2013 12:00:00 AMMy boyfriend and I had a niceMy boyfriend and I had a nice table in a little corner with a window that looked out at the street. It was very nice. We had great service. I was happy the garage was only $2 upon validation. We used a Livingsocial deal with no snags, which was wonderful. Had fun, and enjoyed the food. Very pleased by the experience.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMEaster BrunchWe went for Easter Brunch. For $32 each, we received four courses which were all wonderful and the food was plentiful. They also had great $2 mimosas. I would go back again but only when they were offering a special such as the Easter Brunch. Ordering a la carte is just too expense. The only down side was that the garage doesnt except validation until after 4pm even on Sundays.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMVery good food, the staffVery good food, the staff was good and friendly. It's a fun way to have a meal.3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMI chose this restaurant forI chose this restaurant for my husband and I to celebrate our 44th wedding anniversary. It was a magnificent choice.
