Diner Reviews
  • "Terrific food! We went back for lunch so sampled a number of items - salmone acqua pazza so fresh and delicous, the tapas delicous - loved the beet tapa - not all pizzas are created equal and ours was just delicious. Just super fresh, beautifully prepared dishes. Wish I had this restaurant in my city!!"

  • "I've always liked The Med and usually had a good experience, however, last night was appalling. We had a business dinner for 6 people out on the patio and the meals did not arrive anywhere near the same time. The first meal (hangar steak) came at least 15 minutes before anything else. Then the 3 paella's arrived, but it was an additional five+ minutes before the final 2 meals (eggplant parm, and a pasta dish) finally showed up. No apologies, no visit from the manager, no attempt to make it right with desserts or drinks, na da. Inexcusable for a restaurant like The Med."

  • "We live in Phoenix and visit Boulder occasionally to see relatives. We always hit The Med' at least once per visit. Food is great!"

  • "Great outdoor patio, the tapas were different yet flavorful and delicious! Waiter was busy but did his best to keep up with our needs."

  • "We've been going to The Med for over 15 years and it has always been one of our favorite restaurants. Something was different these past two times when we went though. The bread wasn't as tasty as before; it was somewhat doughy, not the usual excellent texture with a crunchy crust. Their bread used to be so good that other places in town bought from them. And their margarita pizza also seemed quite doughy; it used to be super thin and full of flavor. Please bring back the crunchy bread and pizza!"

  • "On a warm sunny Boulder summer's evening could there be any better place in Boulder to enjoy dinner with friends than The Med? The food was - once again - excellent, the service impeccable, and the ambiance just about perfect. Of course they screwed up the Open Table reservation (which happens A LOT these days); but managed to squeeze us in, albeit with quite a wait. Highlight was the food and the wine, which has to be about the most reasonably priced of the competitor restaurants nearby. (YES! You know who you are, trying to charge $70+ for pretty average reds; shame on you!!). Our waiter (Gabriel) was attentive and personable - but then in my experience all the staff at The Med are (uniformly) well selected and trained. Excellent evening!"

  • "The Med is a Boulder treasure. I have been to this restaurant at least 20 times. It is definitely my favorite restaurant in Boulder. We usually come during happy hour for the tapas."

  • "The food was fantastic and the service was great. It was my first time there but it will not be my last. Very authentic food with a great atmosphere."

  • "With the variety of menu options and the excellence of the food preparations the Med is consistently a family favorite, especially if we have out of town guests. The service was very good and the kitchen very accommodating."

  • "We always enjoy the Med. This time, tapas were good, arugula salad not so much. Too much cheese & could not find the pear. Would not have again."

  • "Our first visit, and definitely not our last. Menu showcases the full circle of Mediterranean cultures; the food is fresh, skillfully prepared, beautifully presented, and delicious."

  • "We visited the Med for our 55th anniversary. I requested a table in a quieter area of the restaurant (by phone a day before) and was very well accommodated. Our waiter was excellent, and most helpful with suggestions and timeliness in filling our order. In all it was a great experience that we would be delighted to repeat."

  • "I have never had a bad meal here and the service is always wonderful!! The tapas is outstanding! The scallop special was to die for!!"

  • "Had a business dinner there and ordered chicken kabob. It would be nice if there had been more than two, tiny pieces of chicken. Perhaps they are saving money"

  • "Honestly the whole experience was overrated in my opinion. I thought the place was pretentious and the service poor. The food was mediocre, and being Middle Eastern, I would know. I am originally from the OKC area and we have much better food here. Everything was over priced, even at happy hour. The best thing I consumed was the White Sangria. If you are in the mood for unauthentic, mediocre, over priced food, then The Med is the place to go. The waiter was nice enough, but our service was watered down... perhaps there was not enough staff on duty? I was shocked to see how busy the place was considering my dissatisfaction with the food. However, I suppose the ambience and happy hour is good enough to draw in a crowd."

  • "I was looking for a romantic place to take my lovely wife to celebrate our 4th anniversary and was hopeful when I booked with The Med. I made my reservation online then followed up with a call to the restaurant to confirm my request for a romantic table and some acknowledgment when we arrived of our special occasion. When we arrived for dinner I was not disappointed! We were seated at a more private table for two, the wait staff congratulated us on our anniversary and brought us each a complimentary glass of champagne, and I was even allowed to use the little candle I'd used for one of our first dates for our table that night. My wife and I were treated great and loved it. Thanks Met folks, we'll be back soon!"

  • "Super Happy Hour Tapas with a wide selection of small plates and choices. Tasting the different tapas plates of skewered shrimp, lamb, hummus, mushrooms, flatbreads, and salads created a fun experience. The menu has something for everyone and those that want a full dinner or pizza can enjoy that as well. The wait staff was professional, providing quick and caring service. I particularly enjoyed the sunny outdoor patio with umbrella. The Med is casually sophisticated with a warm engaging atmosphere."

  • "I recently took a young friend and her 2-year old daughter to the Mediterranean for lunch. I had taken my niece and her young daughter for Tapas a few weeks earlier. The Tapas menu was also available for lunch, which was fine with me. I love the Tapas choices. But, what I also love about the Med is that children are given very special attention and families with children are treated by the staff with great respect. From the booster seat that came out immediately to a special water cup with straw to taking our picture before we left, our waiter was wonderfully attentive. After two great experiences bringing families with children to the Med, I will think of the Med first in the future when adults and children will be dining together."

  • "Loved the Med. 4 of us were able to share/try many menu items, service was friendly and quick, we had a cute table on the patio. Will definitely return next time we're in Boulder!"

  • "We needed a large table so I immediately thought of the Med. I requested outdoors and we got just that. It was perfection!! Until it started raining...our server immediately appeared and asked if we wanted to move. Since its Boulder, we thought it might pass in moments so we asked to wait. It didn't pass and in minutes she was back and said she was already saving a table for us inside so we could move right in. It was seamless, painless and a real joy to reconnect with an old friend and her huge family with such ease. Thank you!!!"

  • "We returned to the Med on our way to Estes Park and once again really enjoyed the food variety and quality. Their Tapas portions were great to share. Happy hour menu was well priced, good variety, served hot and lots of flavor. House wine was much better than many places. Staff was friendly, professional and perky. We will definitely be back."

  • "I have been here on a number of occasions for lunch dates. It has always been very good. My last time, I had the most wonderfully delicious entrée. I'm surprised it didn't catch my attention before. It was the cannelloni with chicken. It is not a pasta dish. The cannelloni itself was made from a rolled tortilla. It was absolutely scrumptious. This place will continue to be on my fav list."

  • "The Med remains among our favorites, not just in Boulder, but all of Denver Metro. The small, tapas-style plates are other-worldly good, with the pastas and other entrees consistently terrific. Our favorite remains the paella, which is so good you remember what it tasted like a week later. Yes, it's noisy. But it's also reasonably-priced. Great cocktails and wine list, too, with outstanding but not cloying service."

  • "The Med is an excellent downtown Boulder restaurant. A vibrant, casual scene. Inside is quite noisy, but the patio is cozy and comfortable, unfortunately, there is no mountain view. Tapas are outstanding."

  • "We took my niece, her husband and their 7-month old baby to the Mediterranean for Tapas last Friday, late afternoon. We only made a reservation for 4, but they gladly added a high-chair and a table for 5. We had tried to make a reservation for 5 at 5, but were told none was available. But, when we arrived they graciously set up a high chair for the baby. The food was terrific and our waiter was wonderfully and cheerfully patient as we added dishes and the baby dropped food on the floor! In fact, all the diners around us enjoyed along with us how much fun the baby was having! We will definitely take the extended family back to the Mediterranean for Tapas."

  • "The food is always good and consistent. While the restaurant is noisy the patio is lovely on a summer evening. I love their happy hour with half price tapas. Its popular so get there early. Lunch and dinner has always been good. Great selection of vegetarian and gluten free"

  • "My wife and I ate at the Mediterranean for our third anniversary. We have eaten there a couple of times before, and the tapas are always fantastic. We did have a miscommunication with our waitress over a beverage order, but it was taken care of quickly and politely. The atmosphere is fairly spacious, and when it is nice outside there is pleasant outdoor seating. Even though it is a large restaurant, it is usually busy, so I would strongly recommend making a reservation first. Open Table is very convenient for this purpose, and you can cancel/modify your reservation at any time."

Before you know it , your belly will be happy and your taste buds will be spoiled with delight of awesome flavors. As an added delight we had a desert and OH MY !!! We went with the recommendation of the waiter, nicely done."
