Diner Reviews
  • "We had been going to the sister restaurant of the Med across the street (Ten Ten) for some time and decided to opt for a change. The Med has excellent service, a very attentive and professional wait staff, and without question some of the best food in town. Even the house wines are excellent and during happy hour the Tapas menu is honestly a great deal of fun. The Med bakes their own bread and it's wonderful. Overall and absolutely wonderful dining experience. Highly recommended."

  • "Ambiance was fine. Food was good. But out server was impatient and very unauthentic. Unfortunately the service stole away any positives for us and if it weren't for being friends we haven't seen in 6 months, the night would have been a waste."

  • "Usually this restaurant is good but the last time i ate there the menu had been downsized, the food was not up to the usual standards and the service was marginal. The tables are packed together making it difficult to have a private dinner."

  • "The restaurant did not provide what they had listed on the menu. The "specials" menu list the featured beer as bing one pint. What we received was more like 5 oz. When I questioned the waiter, he replied " this was how it was served". I informed that the menu stated that it should be one pint, he responded "this is how it is served" again. I assume this is how he was told to respond. The dinner menu described the paella as having pei mussels, yet there were none. Due to the previous response of the waiter, I expected a similar response, so did not waste my time. I will never eat at this rest. again!"

  • "The food is great. You know how you bite into something and say to yourself, "You know, that is seasoned just right; that is cooked just right; that was served just right..." etc.? The choices are pan-Meditteranean from Morocco to Spain to Italy to Greece. The Med folk get it just right. Our group of four picked 9 tapas dishes and then split a Paella Verdura and two tiny desserts (one bite each). The perfect dining evening."

  • "I decided to host an engagement party for two friends last Friday - making the reservation was very simple, and I received many notifications, reminders and confirmations both by email and by phone, making me confident that my reservation did in fact make it through and would be ready for us. To top it off, when we arrived, Tim - quite possible the best manager in the universe - had set out champagne flutes and a beautiful ice bucket for sparkling wine. It really set the scene and made it a special evening for our friends, thank you!"

  • "Our meal resembled a European dining experience in that we felt we had all the time in the world to enjoy each other, the food, and the ambiance. Our waiter was friendly, offered good advice on food choices, and was attentive to our every need. We sampled the tapas and found the bacon wrapped dates delectable, the golden beets with capers and goat cheese divine, and the roasted garlic cloves with blue cheese and balsamic dates delicious! We wanted to talk a bit before we ate desert so our waiter brought us some tea and told us to take our time. The chocolate cake with salted caramel almonds and ice cream was probably the best thing I've tasted in years! This restaurant has been a favorite of ours for years and I highly recommend it."

  • "Wonderful ambiance, helpful waiters and waitresses, great food and at a reasonable price. Truly a gem! Best restaurant in Boulder. My favorite restaurant!"

  • "Our son attends CU Boulder and we have tried to have dinner at the Med in the past but could never get a table because it is so busy. Booked through Open Table well in advance of our most recent visit mad I am glad we did! The food is delicious, the paella is a must! Son had eggplant park, which he says was really good and I had a pasta special with smoked chicken and shrimp. It was very tasty, but there were only about 4 small shrimp. Husband had the Paella Valenciana...it was amazing! Everything on the menu sounds so good, will definitely have to return! Oh, and the service is great as well, very attentive and friendly! No wonder this restaurant is always packed!"

  • "Could not have been better! Maintains high standards of menu selections, food quality, reasonable prices, top-drawer service."

  • "If you are in Boulder, between 3 and 6:30 p.m. on a given day, you need to go to the Med. The happy hour is 2nd to none - not so much for the drink prices (average happy hour), but the range, quality and price of the food! There are probably 10-15 cold and 10-15 hot items on the happy hour menu. This IS dinner - and the best people watching in town!"

  • "Great happy hour deals and tapas! The polenta is amazing!"

  • "We were so pleased to get a table it he corner! The food was even better than last time!"

  • "The food was very good! However, the service was terrible. We were brought only one bowl of bread for 8 people and had to constantly keep asking for more. The deal breaker however, was that our waitress charged us an extra $20 when we split the check. We realized the math wasn't adding up and were rudely told that it was correct by a waiter that wasn't even ours. We also asked to speak to a manager and the waiter and waitress would not get him/her. In the end we were able to figure out the bill payments, but the waitresses excuse for mixing up the payments did not add up."

  • "Great atmosphere for celebrations and dinner. Tapas, dinner, drinks and dessert {You can't go wrong here} Haven't had a bad meal in the last 5years yet. It is always a very lively crowd atmosphere with college students, families and large groups. Reservations are a must!"

  • "Noisy but fun atmosphere. Great food, reasonable prices. Reserve in advance - this place is popular!!"

  • "Food was ok, nothing out of the ordinary, it was a busy night, wait was 90 mins for those walking in, thank goodness we made a reservation. Not worth a 90 minute wait. Despite being busy, we never felt rushed, not once."

  • "we were overcharged. We ordered drinks during happy hour and were charged full price. We didn't catch it until we got home. Bummer...."

  • "As an older woman who has significantly lost weight in the past I am pleased that the portions are not overly large. I had the lamb kabobs with couscous. At the Med you can order any number of delicious small plates to satisfy any appetite. My dining companion was able to order simple meat and vegetables from the alacarte grill menu. We were very pleased with the service. When a glass of wine was ordered mid meal it came immediately."

  • "We went to The Med for my daughter's birthday. It was very loud and busy. The tapas appetizers was tiny. The main entre was small. My husband and I had the salmon. The portions was so small that we were still hungry afterwards. Way too expensive for the small portions. The service was ok. Probably because it was so busy."

  • "This probably my favorite restaurant on the Front Range."

  • "Larry our server was the disappointment of the night. Very much consumed by another couple that were his friends, I assume as he sat down and joined there table and rarely came to ours. Food was awesome as always. We had a baby in a car seat and this restaurant is to busy, crowded and noise for this. Also, one of our guests was sitting at our round table on a main traffic path and was hit in the head twice by servers with plates. Might be great for an out of the way dinner for two but not for a family or a main traffic table"

  • "We had a server named Paige, she was energetic, knew the menu well and a ton of fun. We were there for my best friend's birthday and she made it absolutely perfect."

  • "We have been fans of The Med for several years, including wedding receptions and class reunions. On Feb 7, 2014, we took some new Colorado neighbors to the Med for the first time. We were early enough for tapas and happy hour. The tapas were great, the service was excellent! We also shared a paella with the 4 of us, which was also very good. Excellent introduction to some of the local restaurants in Boulder, I highly recommend for small or large groups!"

  • "Been to several places for Tapas and the Med is still the best place for them! Enjoy Italian mainstays for a picky eater and lots of adventurous options for those who want to try something a little more out there. My favorite restaurant!"

  • "This place used to be amazing and now, not so much. The food was okay but the service was anything but desirable. It was like they were too busy to serve us. When we asked where missing ordered food items were, we were ignored."

  • "We especially liked the Tapas menu - I ordered the swordfish skewers with bell peppers and enjoyed it."

  • "Not thrilled with the sandwiches. You would think that with a toasted piece of the bread the meat should be warm as well. Service was sub-par compared to dinner. At an establishment like this i would think their servers would greet their guests with a little more respect than calling them "bro." I had to ask to keep the menus 3 separate times. What's the rush? Would not go back for lunch, may go back for dinner but not anytime soon."

  • "Great food, fast service, not rushed though- we talked and enjoyed tapas and drinks for a couple of hours. Enjoyed some great flavor profiles- curry and honey hummus, bacon wrapped dates, and some amazing panacotta w a salted pistachio sauce. This foodie as well as her less discriminating friends all enjoyed equally."

  • "Stick to the Tapas, they are the most delightful. The variety and selection are exceptional and dont go with the usual as you will miss what makes this a favorite to all that come to Boulder."

  • "The Med is our favorite restaurant in Boulder. The food is excellent and it changes. It is a bit noisy, but fun and the service is always good too. We have never had a bad meal here. I recommend reservations."

  • "This has become my " go to" spot in Boulder. It is always consistently wonderful and the service is efficient and friendly. The menu is delightful and varied enough that there is something for everybody. Even though I hit this spot at peak lunch time, I'm usually able to find a parking spot close by as well. Will definitely be back."

  • "The Med has amazing tapas and great cocktails. We go here regularly and have had lunch, happy hour, tapas dinner, and formal dinner. All are delicious. The food is truly delicious and a very diverse menu. You can never go wrong with the Med."

  • "This is a favorite restaurant of my family's. However, this time I was a bit disappointed, particularly with the service. I think one of our servers was training the other, but I couldn't figure out who was the trainer and who was the trainee. Neither really seemed to know what was happening."
